I booked Sarah for my wedding and engagement shoot, and she literally SAVED my wedding! Two weeks before we said I do, the long-term coordinator at our venue left without any notice -leaving us to pick up the pieces. For context, my husband and I live all the way in Richmond, VA, so SLO was a destination wedding for us and our families -some of whom traveled as far as Berlin, Germany, to be with us on our special day. When everything seemed to go wrong, Sarah was there to help step in and put us back on track. We first met Sarah for an engagement shoot. Her communication was impeccable; she arrived early and had no problem handling the chaotic whirlwind my husband and I had become. Not only did she have an amazingly bright personality, but she was also so prepared and professional. Later, she helped us adjust our day-of schedule to ensure the best lighting for pictures and the smoothest flow for wait staff. She even met up with us for an extra beach shoot when the fog rolled in the day before. After our first hour together, I realized that Sarah really truly had my back, and for the first time in weeks I was actually able to exhale and enjoy myself. The pictures she took of my husband and me are without a doubt the best we’ve ever had. Unfortunately, my wedding day misfortune would continue when my only bridesmaid, who was also my maid of honor, missed her flight. Sarah picked me up off the floor, dusted me off, and got me back into the proper headspace. If I needed my veil adjusted, she was there -no one to hold my bouquet? No problem; she shot pictures with one hand. When I say this woman is a superstar, I really truly mean it. After some thoughtful research, what sold us on his work was his effortless ability to capture the perfect moments of a wedding day—especially his night photography and dance floor shots. He is incredibly professional, and we felt very comfortable with him from the start. He made us laugh, which was so helpful in easing those stressful moments. We were very impressed with his timeline and how smoothly he kept everything moving. He was prompt, had great ideas for photo locations to get the best results, and was also open to our input—making sure our ideas came to life. Andy was flexible with his packages to fit our budget; we had originally planned for five hours of coverage but decided to upgrade to the full eight hours because photography is so important to us. His communication throughout the entire process was amazing. “I hired Vic to photograph my bridal shower based on some recommendations on FaceBook! I took one look at her portfolio and knew that she was talented. She made the booking process super easy and was reachable via Email and Text. She formalized the agreement via contract which was very professional and helped me guarantee that she would be committed to my event. On the day of the event, she went above and beyond. She helped calm me as we were running a bit late but she kept things moving the whole event. She captured photos of me, my guests, and got detailed shots of all our decorations. Our guests loved that she offered pointers on how to pose and stand. Not to mention she took several photos of every shot - I’ve worked with photographers in the past who will only take 1 shot, but not Vic! After the event, she gave me all the unedited photos within 48 hours which was a HUGE win! She captured around 700 photos of my 2 hour event - I was stunned in the best way. Towards the end of the night, we realized we never signed our marriage license. When I asked Ali if they could stay for a few extra minutes to capture those moments, they agreed without hesitation. All our photos and videos came back on time and are truly beautiful. One thing we wish is that they had been a bit more assertive when organizing our family photos as we didn't end up with every shot/ family groupings requested on our list. We do have a larger family which can also lead towards more chaos as you can imagine. Of course part of this was a timing issue as all photos with bride and groom together needed to be done within cocktail hour as we did not do a first look. Overall, Aladdin Films delivered exactly what we needed to remember our special day and we were absolutely thrilled with our choice to work with them. “Hire Lo. You won't regret it. Not only does she know what she is doing in terms of getting all the planned shots, she got incredible candid shots and live shots of my groom and I, our families, and our guests. As we've been looking back so far at our pictures, we get to relive the emotion of the day. It's the intangible thing that an incredible photographer can do--capture the emotion. I can feel our joy radiating out of our photos and I am so grateful I hired Lo. Years from now we are going to get to experience this day over-and-over because the quality of her photos is incredible. The variety of shots she was able to get makes it seem like she had second shooter (but she's just that good). Our first look was perfect. She made sure we got some golden hour shots and then got us right back to dinner so we could eat. She also is incredible at giving minor adjustment tips to make sure we weren't doing anything weird with our hands lol. Additionally, and this was big for me, working with her ahead of the wedding she reminded me how to be excited for this day. Wedding planning was stressful, but every time I got to talk to Lo she got me back to a place of being excited and joyful. The day-of when she showed up, she helped make sure we had everything covered, and kept me calm even when some things went wrong. I felt like I not only had a great photographer, but a friend who had my back and wanted to make sure my day went perfect. I am so glad we hired Lo. My groom teared up looking back at some of these photos. Hire Lo!”
