Why you'll love this venue

Venue considerations

  • Large venue, not ideal for small guest lists
  • Not for you if you prefer a more modern aesthetic
  • Lighting and sound are not included
We recently had our wedding at Suisun Valley Inn, and overall, it was a beautiful and memorable experience. One of the biggest highlights was being able to use the venue for three full days, which gave us extra time to relax and connect with our bridal party and loved ones. That extended access truly made a difference in how special the weekend felt. However, there were a few challenges that did impact our plans. The event barn, which was a key part of our original vision, was unfortunately not finished in time for our wedding. While we understand this was out of the owner’s control, we were disappointed that we were not refunded the full 2,000 deposit, especially since the change affected nearly every aspect of our day. Additionally, when we arrived, we were surprised to find the vineyard had been plowed without any prior notice. This forced another last-minute adjustment to our setup so we wouldn’t be facing a dirt lot. It would have been really helpful to have been told about that in advance. Despite these hiccups, the venue itself has so much potential and charm, and we did have a lovely wedding. I just hope some of these experiences can help future couples plan better or spark a few improvements from the venue for the future.

Here, an extraordinary new luxury resort is taking shape. Stanly Ranch, a new destination in the heart of wine country, celebrates the romance of connecting with family and friends in a setting that’s steeped in winery estate tradition, inspired by the beauty of the land, and infused with a fresh, convivial spirit.

  • Provides lighting and sound
  • Feels like a getaway

Venue considerations

  • Not for you if you are looking for something nontraditional
  • Not wheelchair accessible

The pricing on here is wrong. The venue fee alone is almost 30k. Then the food and beverage minimum is 50k but if you have 150 guests you will spend more like 80k. Plus there is a service fee of at least 13k. So BEFORE photographer, footwear, videographer, band, decor etc. you’re already at around 123k.

They were extremely helpful in giving us our perfect day: the decor was gorgeous, the venue amazing, food & drink was the best and our guests had a great time too. We had the wedding reception of our dreams this July! We were drawn to having our 110-person reception at D'Argenzio Winery for countless reasons including great price and a truly beautiful location. Breanna had excellent, understanding, and flexible communication with us for the entire year leading up to our wedding day. We rented the Terrazzo Patio and Tasting Room Lounge and had open seating for the guests so that they could choose to sit inside or outside! Everyone enjoyed the wine, Prosecco, beer, and soft drink offerings at the bar. We absolutely loved Cibo Rustico's catering of antipasto boards, salads, pasta, and chicken offerings. We also had a banda perform late into the night on the bocce ball court following dinner, speeches, and the first dance! You too can have the wedding you always dreamed of at D'Argenzio Winery!

We had an absolutely wonderful experience using Glenn Ranch as our wedding venue this September. We were originally drawn to the rural-yet-close to town location, the awesome old barn, and Lori and Mark's laid-back approach. The location is great, you get the feeling of being away from it all while still being 10 minutes from Petaluma, which was so so helpful for out-of-town guests. Lori and Mark took care of so many of the details: tables, tablecloths, chairs, speakers, signs, couches, and they have a ton of decor items to use. Having all of those items included in the rental of the venue greatly simplified the planning process, saved us money, and made remembering all of the little details way less stressful. We really appreciated being able to use our own vendors and having Jenny as a coordinator to run planning questions by. Lori was super flexible and accomodating when it came to setting up and cleaning up after the event. Having the venue for four days gave us plenty of time to set up and clean up. Her and Mark even helped us meticulously hang 17 flower garlands from the barn door, making sure they were evenly spaced, the whole thing turned out looking amazing! Jenny took care of all the final decor touches and vendors day-of so we as the bride and groom really didn’t have to worry about a thing except our vows and enjoying ourselves! Thank you Lori, Mark, and Jenny for your had work and for helping our special day go off without a hitch!

The lawn looks out over the vineyards + is perfectly situated to watch the valley glow as the sun sets. There are even farm cottages to get ready in before your guests arrive. We had a magical wedding at Ru's. 100% would go for Ru's again. We lucked out with the weather but regardless, there is a lot of shade for guests (especially in the ceremony/dinner areas). The lighting is incredible. The lush lavender and olive trees makes the setting feel fairy-tale like and unique. We loved that everything was spaced out enough but also close together -- giving a homey/backyard and also elevated feel. Guests commented on how much they loved it too. We appreciated that you can BYOB. Ru's does offer some items to borrow but we elected to rent items for a specific feel (also note that you will be required to rent kitchen items such as an oven unless your caterer provides that). The cottage is also clutch and super nice. Working with Lele and Kristen was super great too. Having a hard time finding drawbacks!

We are absolutely thrilled with our wedding at Stemple Creek. It's a blank slate in many ways, and requires some imagination, but trust your vision! It is worth it. On our wedding day, it was cloudy, on the chillier side for July, and the eucalyptus grove where we had our ceremony was very windy, but all of this just added to the beauty of Stemple Creek and made us all feel like we were in some other time and place. It honestly exceeded our expectations. Our guests were flat out stunned by the venue. Everything, from the grove, to the cocktail hour space, to the bar-shed, to the barn was perfect. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Katie was a super generous and kind host, and her dog Schaeffer is the sweetest. Coby was also very gracious throughout the event. Thank you Stemple Creek!

Venue considerations

  • No on-site guest accommodations
We had our wedding at Shadelands Ranch Museum in 2018 and couldn't have been happier with our decision! We had a few parameters to work within — a tight budget, a list of vendors we wanted to work with, and a large guest count. The staff at Shadelands were incredibly accommodating and easy to partner with. Since their policy allows food trucks and other mobile caterers, we were able to hire one of our favorite local BBQ restaurants to cater, which was a huge hit. The venue grounds are large enough to fit a sizeable group — perfect for our guests who brought children — they had plenty of room to run around on the lawn. In the summer, the venue adds string lights in the trees around their gazebo, creating a beautiful and romantic touch when the sun sets. The gazebo served as a beautiful centerpiece and the location for our photo booth. Our DJ had plenty of space to set up on the back patio, which doubled as the dance floor. The venue’s accessibility was incredible, with ample parking, clean restrooms, a kitchen, and a porch for the bride to ‘hide’ until the ceremony. And because the venue provided the tables and chairs, we only needed to rent table linens. Shadelands is the place to book if you want a beautiful and affordable outdoor wedding venue in Walnut Creek that can accommodate both your ceremony and reception. The attentive staff, accessible location, and flexibility around customization make it an ideal place to tie the knot!

We can’t recommend this venue highly enough! From the moment we arrived until our final goodbyes, it truly felt like we were hosting our wedding in our very own private national park. The natural beauty of the grounds is unmatched – from scenic overlooks and quiet trails to a stunning swimming pond and a magical temple reception space. Every corner felt special and offered a unique experience for us and our 80 guests. One of the biggest highlights was being able to spend Thursday through Monday onsite, which allowed us plenty of time to set up and clean up, while still enjoying unhurried time with our guests. Our friends and family stayed in glamping tents (aka eco pods), which were as cozy as they were unique – complete with bedding, linens, WiFi, electricity.Communication leading up to the big event was smooth thanks to Frank Sergi, who was incredibly responsive and helpful throughout the booking and planning process. The venue owner, Suvas, was personally involved and made us feel incredibly welcome. Beyond that, we were deeply moved by his vision for the land. The venue isn’t just beautiful – it’s purpose-driven. Suvas and his team are committed to reforestation, ecological education, and running garden programs that donate fresh food to local food banks. Hosting our wedding in a space with such meaningful values made the experience even more special. We felt truly honored to be able to take part in that mission.Onsite support from Romaldo and Jorge was absolutely top-notch. They were attentive, kind, and worked tirelessly to ensure every detail matched our hopes. Many of our guests told us it was one of the most memorable and special weddings they’ve ever attended – and we couldn’t agree more. If you’re looking for a venue that blends nature, comfort, and purpose, this is the place. It exceeded our expectations and gave us memories we’ll treasure forever. Thank you Sonoma Forest Sanctuary!

Our wedding was going to be on the smaller side but I still wanted it to be more special than just taking place in a hotel conference room. This was a completely DIY wedding, which I was personally funding, and I was doing my best to keep costs under control without compromising quality. After doing countless hours of research online about weddings and venues, it seemed everything would come with a huge price tag - far beyond my budget. I was worried that the challenges I was facing would be insurmountable and I'd have to settle for less than what I'd dreamed of. I knew I wanted to hold it at a winery, preferably one with beautiful views and perhaps a water feature. Clarksburg, being only 15 minutes from my house, was the region I wanted to explore. After visiting two other wineries in the area - one of which had a less than ideal location and poor customer service, and the other that was nice but WAY out of my price range for a 60-person guestlist - my final visit was to Julietta Winery. One of the owners, Julie, gave us the tour and we were immediately grateful for her attentiveness and input. When she showed us the back barn by the slough, I knew this could be the perfect venue! It was private, had separate but adjacent areas for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception, plenty of nearby private parking, loads of charm, and was absolutely gorgeous. It was somewhat of a blank slate, but had special features like chandeliers in the barn and fountains throughout the grounds, and with a few added touches it could certainly be a creative bride's dream. Her suggestions, examples and expertise solidified that conclusion. After seeing the private ceremony site, the reception area and the bridal suite, we were invited back to the main building for a tasting. Unlike the other venues we had visited, all of the wines were equally delicious, further settling the decision to get married there. I even joined the wine club that day. Another thing that set Julietta Winery apart was that they allowed me to bring in my own vendors. A lot of places won't do this. Since I was putting 100% of my effort into making this a wonderful event, it was helpful to have this leeway and I was able to choose my DJ, musicians, photographer, "day of coordinator", transportation, baker and caterer. Julie and her staff were so accommodating, and Julie even took on the task of being an additional "day of" coordinator and "calmer of nerves". The wedding turned out to be everything I could have hoped for and more, and every single guest was amazed by the beautiful venue, the quality wine and the service received. It was perfect in every single way. I just wish I could share pictures with this review. We're so grateful to Julietta Winery!

We toured Scribner Bend last November as a wedding venue option and immediately fell in love with the venue!!! We were looking for a venue that was intimate yet romantic and this venue checked off all of our boxes. The romantic, garden-esque setting is absolutely stunning and was everything we dreamed of for our wedding. From start to finish, working with the Scribner Bend team was such a breeze and truly made wedding planning fun and stress free. When we first booked, Shaye was the wedding facilitator and she was absolutely fantastic to work with. Later, we got to work with Hillary, their new wedding facilitator and she was just as amazing! So attentive, quick to answer questions and always accommodating of any last-minute requests. They really have such a well-oiled team and their amazing list of preferred vendors made the entire process seamless. We were married on a Friday which meant we had the wonderful bonus of hosting our rehearsal and rehearsal dinner at Scribner the night before. It was such a fun, easy experience and set the tone for the big day. Paesanos, their in-house caterer was fantastic (separate review) and they provided us with delicious wood-fired pizzas and two salads for our rehearsal dinner. All of our guests were raving about how good it was!! On our wedding day, we had access to the Bungalow for getting ready and wow!! it is such a beautiful, charming space. My bridesmaids and I loved spending the morning there. It has two make up stations that had great natural lighting and is great for making tiktoks! The guys had the Airstream, which was really unique and fun, though on our 100-degree wedding day it was a bit stuffy since the AC couldn't quite keep up (which is understandable for an Airstream!). Still, it was a cool and memorable space for them to get ready in. I cannot rave about Scribner Bend enough. The grounds are gorgeous, the staff is phenomenal and they truly helped create the most magical and smooth wedding day for us. I'd highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a romantic, beautiful and well-supported place to say I do!!!!

The Red Barn Ranch was truly our dream wedding venue. Not only is it rustic and beautiful but it radiates love and family. The Rorabaugh's are the most down to earth and loving hosts you could ever hope for. They are there for you when you need but they also allow you a lot of freedom to create the exact experience you want. And they work hard to accommodate whatever you need for your special day. For example, she allowed me to have alpacas at our wedding and talked to the Alpaca handler about the best way to get in and set up so I didn't have to. Our wedding was a dream; from the rehearsal dinner at the venue and staying in the bridal suite, to the hustle of getting ready, to walking down the aisle and finally to dancing the night away. The accommodations were unparalleled and the venue is so beautiful, it saved me tons on florals and decor. Also when booking this venue, you get access on Friday and don't have to be gone until 3 the following Sunday. They also allow guests to camp in tents or bring RVs. This was one of my favorite parts about our wedding. A lot of my family stayed in their RVs and the morning after the wedding, it was the cutest and most fun little camp site. The proprietor woke in the morning to feed their cows and invited my little cousins to join. They also brought out their horses and my niece got to ride a horse for the first time. The pond is an adorable hang out spot where they allow catch and release fishing and rides around in the canoe plus it is an amazing background for pictures. My little nephews were having the best time chasing frogs and catching fish. When you book your wedding or other special event with Red Barn Ranch, you are not going to be disappointed. You are booking the most perfect experience with some of the most wonderful and caring people.
