“We stayed from Friday - Sunday, and it was the wedding of our dreams! On friday, we were able to set up the barn ahead of time and have our rehearsal dinner in the backyard. My bridesmaids stayed the night in the house, making the morning of so fun and stress free. It was DIY, and we were given the freedom to decorate and do whatever we wanted, bringing all of our Pinterest boards to life. We had the ceremony with the vineyards in the background, cocktail hour was behind the house and we moved inside of the barn for the rest of the night. “We truly couldn't have asked for a more perfect venue for our wedding day. We were able to stay at Shadows for the long weekend - which allowed us to set up and DIY most our wedding. Our family and closest friends got to stay with us on the property for the weekend, which made it feel so much more special - and made us feel like we had so much time to take our wedding weekend in with everyone (rather that just one day). The venue was so spacious, which made the event feel large and free - rather than everyone being on top of each other. We toured others, but I think a part of me had already decided. I swear, that tree must have put some kind of spell on me. Weekend access gave us time for setup, rehearsal, celebrating, and cleanup. The main house let us keep celebrating with our closest people after the reception. I genuinely have NO idea how couples manage with a venue for only one day! But heres what I really want future couples to understand. Rachel goes FAR beyond what she is hired, paid, or expected to do. When we had vendor challenges, Rachel stepped in despite us hiring a planner to handle them. She coordinated, advocated for me, and put out fires that were NEVER hers to put out. She checked on me and supported me when things got overwhelming.
