“I can’t recommend The Candlewood Inn enough! We live 2 hours away but had no second thoughts about booking this venue. Not only is the location absolutely gorgeous, but the staff is incredible to work with. Christian and team were so helpful, responsive, accommodating, and kind. There is only 1 event per day, so you get the full focus of the Candlewood team. We also booked the on location bridal suite for the girls to get ready in the morning of the wedding. The space was perfect, and they provided us with so much food. And speaking of the food, it was incredible! Our guests are still telling us how much they enjoyed the food, service, and overall beauty at Candlewood. We had several of them tell us that the 2 hour drive to our wedding was 100% worth it, which is the highest praise I could give!”

“Treefilms is a stellar photography and videography company! After our venue, they were the second vendor we booked as photography and videography was very important to us. Ashley was responsive and kind from the beginning! She was open to our ideas in regard to location and then made it look even better in the photo video! We felt so comfortable during that shoot and at our wedding in front of the camera with them. They gave us enough direction that it was easy to know what to do, but did not result in stiff or overly posed pictures. The candid shots that they captured throughout the wedding day are photos we will cherish; they were able to capture all the emotions so perfectly. The team worked seamlessly with all the other vendors, they truly know what they’re doing! (Shoutout to Ashley for doing up the buttons on my dress!) Our wedding video is a work of art, I don’t think it’s comparable to the standard videos produced by other vendors. We had *so* many compliments about how wonderful of an emcee he was, as well as there being such a great mix of music for all the generations there that kept everyone on the dance floor the whole night! Our original time set for dinner ran a little late because the kitchen was running behind, but he did a wonderful job keeping things moving; no one had any idea we were waiting on dinner! “First of all - the end product was just beautiful. Everything from the bridal bouquet to the ceremony flowers to the table styling was exquisite and super unique. Shannon did a great job incorporating my favorite color (yellow) and a whimsical, organic wildness into the design exactly as I had hoped. From our first meeting to the written proposal, Shannon interpreted my thoughts and ideas exactly. I was so impressed that she took my ramblings and half ideas and pulled them together into what I was seeing in my head. Shannon’s GORGEOUS color palette informed the entire wedding design and gave me a jumping off point for invitations, bridesmaid dresses, other decor, etc. Unfortunately, the process of working with Shannon was a bit challenging. She struggled with nailing down details: incorrect number of tables, inconsistent accounting of candles/bud vases, etc. It took a number of incorrect proposal drafts until we got it right - just weeks before the wedding. We were honestly quite disappointed by Shannon’s flexibility and communication. She self-describes as being highly collaborative, but that was not our experience. First, as beer nerds, having hops in the design was super important to us, and while she flagged early on it could be an issue to source real ones, we discussed using fake. While we all agreed that she shouldn’t use fake hops if they looked bad, we were sad to see on the day of that they didn’t make it into the design. It would have been nice to have heard a heads up from her that she didn’t plan to use them - even if it was just a brief mention on the day-of. Second, when our cake plans fell through at the last minute, we asked Shannon if she could possibly supply a few flowers for our small 6” cutting cake. She told us she would try, but later we heard from the bakery that she had given them a flat no. She never communicated her decision to us. Thankfully, the bakery pulled something together for us (shout out to Zest Pastry!). Third, the Monday before the wedding, Shannon sent an alarming email with the subject line “Head Advisory, Oh No!”, asking us what our plan was. Getting any email titled “Oh No” isn’t fun to receive less than a week before your wedding. Further, as a trusted wedding vendor, we would hope that she would have plans for weather or unexpected events rather than looking to us during a very stressful period. Lastly, (and most disappointingly) despite having a run of day schedule, Shannon was nowhere to be found when it was time to put on boutonnieres and corsages. Our photographers and party thankfully jumped in to help to avoid major delays to portraits (shout out to Katie Slater!). Fundamentally, the product Shannon provided was beyond compare - everything was beautiful. That said, the communication, coordination, and organization were lacking from our experience.”

In the weeks before, she was super responsive to e-mails, getting everything all set up in time (even though we only reached out to her last minute, three weeks before our wedding.) On the day, all of the desserts were exceptionally delicious, especially the key lime tarts and the brownies. Not only were the desserts tasty, but they were all set up in such a beautiful way.”

“We hired a day-of coordinator because although we wanted to own the process of planning the wedding, we did not want to be point persons for vendor questions, logistics, and issues on the day of the wedding. We chose Merry By Mia because we instantly felt like we were in good hands, were reassured by the fact that Mia herself had recently gotten married and knew firsthand what kind of stressors and wrinkles go into a wedding day, and because we were impressed with her podcast. We benefited greatly from working with Merry by Mia! We had a sounding board for questions throughout the planning process, making big undertakings (like finding and booking transportation for 120 people!) much much simpler. And of course, on the day of, we would not have rested nearly as easy if we hadn't known that Mia was there to represent our best interests when we couldn't be there ourselves. We also heavily relied on Mia to understand what we wanted/what was important to us and translate that to our other vendors, especially when we felt we weren't being listened to. This was invaluable to us. Overall, we were incredibly satisfied! From big planning moments down to helping me into my reception dress, the day would not have gone nearly as smoothly without Mia. I would absolutely recommend working with Merry because from my experience, Mia was reliable, understanding, and excited! It means a lot when vendors who live and breathe weddings still have the ability to get as excited over the details as you do. I would say to absolutely prioritize this expense in your budget. For me, I know that if I had allocated that money to any other line item I wouldn't have been able to fully enjoy it because I would be dealing with so much unnecessary stress and wrangling without a point person. Mia went above and beyond, listening to the long list of very particular requests we had and made sure everything was perfect. We're so thankful to her! “”

“The stylists & makeup artists from Eye for Beauty were a fantastic addition to our wedding team! I was thrilled with my bridal hair & makeup and it was nice to work with a single team for all services. Angela absolutely nailed my makeup during our trial and again on wedding day - she achieved the perfect elevated natural look and had a gentle application, which was important to me & my sensitive eyes! I did two hair trials with Jess and I couldn’t be happier with the final result, it really suited my whole bridal look. Jess was very receptive to my feedback after the first trial and was easy to work with both before & on wedding day. Mayra rounded out the styling team for wedding day and my bridal party & mom looked gorgeous. One note for brides - Westport CT is listed as EFB’s location on Zola, but trials take place in Trumbull CT - worth it even if this is a bit further for you, but helpful to know! The ladies from EFB were a delight to have with us the morning of our wedding and had excellent time management (so important!). I would recommend Eye for Beauty!”

“John is incredible. We were on the fence about having a videographer or not. I came across his info on a Facebook wedding group and decided to check out his work. After reviewing his website, I decided to reach out to him about his rates and some questions I had. We ended up doing his 6 hour package, and also customized it so we could get all of our raw footage. His pricing is extremely fair and we loved being able to get a highlight video and the raw footage with our first choice package. Hiring John for our wedding was one of the best decisions we made. Our highlight video is absolutely amazing. It shows our story and our relationship perfectly. He incorporated exactly what we asked him to. Our family and friends love the highlight video he created for us, too. Not only do we love it, but he delivered it just six business days after our wedding!!!
