His introduction, process, meetings, etc. were all extremely seamless, made us feel comfortable, really got to know who we are and what we were looking for, and generally a smooth experience from start to finish. We wanted a DJ who would actually mix tracks and take our inputs for song selections and preferences seriously and stick to it - and DJ Topedo delivered! From the App platform that is used to help provide timeline details, to song selection via streaming platforms, to even us requesting to mix in video game/pop culture sound bytes into the tracks later in the night - it was a super intuitive way to provide this input, and he guided us through it all (and reviewed multiple times with us). It's so nice to have that level of organization when it comes to something as intricate as your wedding day-of timeline and making sure the right songs are playing at the right times. This also goes for the MC aspect of DJ-ing, which Josh was flawless in - even last-minute adjusting the wedding party introduction order due to a mixup on our end. We also loved how DJ Topedo offered so many options for uplighting, video vs. photo booths (we went with the video booth), and even a videographer (which we opted for). He really does offer an all inclusive turnkey package for whatever you're looking for, it really gives you peace of mind. All his equipment and setup is top notch, clean, and it was a totally hands-free experience the day-of. Additionally, we opted for DJ Topedo specifically to DJ our wedding, and we couldn't have been happier. If you're looking for the best DJ in the DC area, DJ Topedo is it.”

“The photographer, videographer, and photo booth was absolutely perfect and our guests had a blast! However, even after going through the work of submitting a Spotify play list and adding do not play songs or DJ played the wrong version of our first dance song (I checked and we had the correct version listed on our playlist we sent over), he also played songs from our do not play list to the point I, the bride, came over to ask if he had the wrong list. He admitted he was using songs from the do not play list as he was not paying attention. I would also like to note, though our wedding was more casual, our DJ was dressed in a sloppy manner. His shirt was half untucked from his pants, there were stains on his shirt and pants. Besides a few hiccups, direct Entertainment was wonderful to work with!”

The whole process of booking with him was so smooth and easy, and he definitely has an amazing reputation out there - even the ABC license people had heard of him and told me he was the best and they were jealous! “Jon was highly recommended by our wedding planner (Lissa Marie Weddings and Events), and we immediately hired him after our initial meeting. It really says something when other vendors only have great things to say! He did such a wonderful job on our wedding day and really kepted everything flowing smoothly with no hiccups. Our ceremony sounds was absolutely perfect and the microphones were sooo easy to use and captured all the sound perfectly. Jon was great at making announcements, (even though it wasn't planned) like when he had to tell people to go to cocktail hour. We also had a photobooth package with him and the attendant did such a great job running the booth. It was definitely the most popular event and our families still raves about the pictures they took! From the moment we met Jon, he was just so easy to talk to and knew exactly what we wanted for the day when we shared our vision. Saroj James Hyoju, got into DJ industry upon walking into Latin club in Dallas, Texas in 2015. Coming from band background, he was surprised to see how people were moved by “Gasolina”, a reggaeton song. Observing how DJ was controlling the crowd’s energy while enjoying himself, this made him curious about club music genres, besides metal and rock. Following immediately, he hosted a Bring Your Own Beer (BYOB) house party, where 50 people showed up. A week later, he was invited to co-DJ at one of his friends’ wedding reception and rest is the history.

“Julian at Limelight and DJ Rashaun were absolutely perfect for us. We knew the vibe we wanted — and, frankly, it was a little off the beaten path since we wanted a bit of a 1930s feeling. We thought we were doomed, though, because we're terrible at selecting exact songs and had no sense of how the music fit into the overall schedule of the night. We hadn't thought past our ceremony! Julian kept things positive, steered us when we had no idea what to do, but gave us space to put our stamp on our evening when he could sense we had ideas burbling. He was helpful, positive and always prompt without ever being pushy, and so many of our favorite moments came out of the things he got us to think about. Rashaun was awesome too. He took our weird list of preferred songs and turned it into an amazing night of love, dining, and dancing. It felt like he'd known for years, always hitting the right classic hit, the right remix, the right memory moments. He was such a kind and lovely man too. We'd hire them again in a heartbeat!”

He provides access to an online portal (extremely cool!!) which gives you the opportunity to give him a general idea of the type of music you want and keeps things extremely organized...Now more importantly, he literally had the crowd on the dance floor the ENTIRE time... and I’m not exaggerating. (People were texting me days later that they’re sore from dancing the whole night!) He is able to read the crowd and deliver. Its been a few months since the wedding and I STILL receive compliments about the DJ - how incredible the music was and how awesome his lighting work was.
