Communication with VMG Weddings was super relaxed and easy, they understood everything I wanted. We were blessed to have both Matt & Des capture our special night. The work they produced was incredible - they were so detail-oriented and worked tirelessly to bring my wedding day dreams to reality. They incorporated the beautiful cemetery on the property into my photos because they could tell it was something I would love. The photographers were also so helpful, fluffing my dress, checking my hair and makeup, and even bustling my dress multiple times throughout the night. It felt like having extra friends there to make sure everything was perfect. Definitely hire VMG Weddings for your wedding - they'll make it a true fairytale for you!

I’ve been making pictures since I was 12. My parents gave me an ancient 35mm Konica Autoreflex camera, told me to get after it, and the rest, as they say, is history. My role as a photographer is to capture the rare, vulnerable, epic, extraordinary, and wonderfully ordinary moments of life, as well as the beautiful details in between. I strive to make images that come from the heart and will tell your story for years to come. Also, I might cry at your wedding. It happens.

My spouse and I were lucky enough to have Jo take photos of us for our September 20th elopement in Portland Maine. Prior to the big day, we spoke with Jo on the phone and knew she would be a great match for us. She was thoughtful, quick to respond, and answered all of our questions. She even touched base with us in the days leading up to our elopement. On the day itself, she came to our home for some pre-ceremony photos. Although she had had a stressful morning due to some car trouble, we never would have known. Our two dogs (one of whom is not always people friendly) quickly warmed to Jo and she got some great shots of them as well. We made our way over to city hall, where we got more photos, and she even signed as our witness. She gave us great direction on poses, which was definitely appreciated. After, we all shared in a meal together before my partner and I exchanged private boys, which Jo also caught some amazing photos of. We received our sneak peek very quickly, and our full gallery two months later (on our two month wedding anniversary, which was such a lovely surprise). We truly couldn't have imagined our day without Jo. The photos were incredible and truly captured exactly what we'd had in mind. We continue to feel very fortunate that she was available to work with us. We had a lot of fun with her and it felt like we got to spend the day with a close friend rather then someone we had just met earlier in the day. If you are looking for a Maine based photographer, you cannot go wrong with Jo!

Nostalgia drove me into photography at an early age - and lead me into my studies of photojournalism. We all innately know when we're at a critical juncture in our lives. For me, being able to authentically capture, to preserve those moments in a photograph is such a privilege. I know how much it means to me to be able to look back and say 'this is how things actually happened.' There is beauty in those truths. The kind of folks I work with share that appreciation.

Awarded Best of Zola
Corey was the absolute best photographer we could've hoped for. We wanted beautiful photos that captured the real emotions and moments of our wedding and that's exactly what we got. Throughout the wedding planning process, Corey was communicative, organized, and helped us choose our priorities and timeline for the day. On the day of the wedding, he was super present and on schedule; he was so comfortable to have around, flexible to meet our needs, and had a warm and friendly attitude that added to the day. We got some preview photos on Instagram just a few days after the wedding, and our full edited album within a few weeks. And we're obsessed with our photos!!! Corey is extremely skilled at what he does, and he's got exactly the professionalism and personality you want to have support you on your wedding day.

Sarah Gagnon Photography
Rating: 5.0 (9 reviews)
  • Classic style
  • Starts at $1,200
  • Serves Port Clyde, ME

Every weekend you'll find me oohing over a wedding dress, and holding my breath for the first moment the groom sees the bride. The wedding style I like the most is candid, but I definitely don't mind posing a nervous couple, or arranging that perfect artistic shot before the light changes. I am patient, calm, and encouraging... I think I get along with everyone... I'm like the nerdy extra bridesmaid with a really killer camera.

Awarded Best of Zola
We used Sarah as our wedding photographer this past weekend and she was amazing! She was prompt and focused and ready to get some shots! I gave her what I had for some flat layout shots with our shoes, invitation etc, and she did such a good job putting it together. We also have so many photos from our first look to choose from as well as inside our venue. She sent us our photos in record time and I can't wait to go through them again!

BrightWorks Photography
Rating: 5.0 (4 reviews)
  • Fine art style
  • Starts at $4,800

I have a long history as a photographer, starting in my twenties with large format view cameras, publishing a book of black and white portraits of Newfoundlanders, studying under Ansel Adams at his Yosemite workshops, and with Aaron Siskind and Harry Callahan at the Rhode Island School of Design. Now, my cameras and equipment are all the latest digital models, but I still rely on my experience and a well trained eye for capturing the optimal moment.

Awarded Best of Zola
I truly cannot recommend Brightworks enough - it was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! The entire experience with Brightworks was incredibly thoughtful and personal. Steve, Rebecca and Gabe took such thought, care and time in getting to know us - first over Zoom and then at our engagement shoot - and it was so clearly reflected in our photos. They perfectly planned and executed out engagement shoot, having scouted several locations and taking into account timing and lighting, and the results were incredible! Steve and Rebecca were so helpful in providing posing tips and immediately made us feel comfortable in front of the camera - this allowed us to get the best possible photos while still feeling relaxed and like ourselves! This also meant that once we got to the wedding day, we were totally comfortable in front of their camera(s). Brightworks put a huge amount of thought and effort into structuring a timeline for the wedding day, which not only made the day run so smoothly but also allowed us to capture all of the moments we wanted. They solicited our thoughts and input, adjusting their plans accordingly, and seamlessly divided photography tasks between them not capture every angle of the day from the posed to the candid! Brightworks was able to capture so many moments not only between me and my husband but also for each one of our guests and loved ones, which was so incredibly special. Not only this, but they were so kind, receptive, responsive, and wonderful to work with through the entire process! We are thrilled with the results, and are absolutely in AWE of their work - do yourself a favor and book them ASAP!!

Peter is the best!!! We first met Peter while he was shooting a promotional video for Medomak Family Camp in Washington, Maine, and that video was gorgeous, so when we needed a photographer for our elopement in Acadia, Peter was the obvious choice. My husband and I had never taken professional pictures before, but Peter made us feel so comfortable and at ease through the whole process. He guided us through each location and pose suggestion like he had a great vision, and when we got the pictures back, we knew he definitely did! Our pictures were beautifully and skillfully edited and we will cherish them literally forever. Thank you, Peter!!!

  • Serves Port Clyde, ME

Aaron Snow is a wedding and portrait photographer based in Camden, Maine, offering photography service to all of New England. He has photographed nearly 400 weddings and events in 18 states over his 20 year professional career.

Aaron was the perfect choice for our wedding photographer. We are beyond thrilled with the experience and photos. Aaron was so calm and he brought the best zen energy to both our engagement photo session and wedding. It was the perfect balance of giving direction and letting us move naturally through the shoot/day. We were nervous going in to our engagement photos and left feeling like we had so much fun. He made us feel so comfortable. The quality of his work was stunning and exactly what we were looking for- timeless and natural but elevated. He really captured the emotion of every moment. It was so fun looking through photos and seeing the essence of a family member or friend captured. And to boot, he was so low profile- I honestly don’t remember seeing him at all outside of our portraits but he was somehow everywhere capturing everyone and all the little details. Aaron was easy to work with, timely, and highly professional. We could not recommend more highly and are so appreciative of his work.

Hi, I’m Nicole! I’m a Maine wedding photographer who loves capturing real moments and genuine connections. My style is relaxed, easygoing, and focused on making sure you feel comfortable in front of the camera. Whether you’re planning a small intimate wedding or a full day celebration, I’m there to document the laughs, happy tears, and everything in between.

When our original photographer backed out just a month before our wedding, we were in a real bind. NLP Photography stepped up and saved the day, and we couldn't be more grateful. From our first conversation, she was straightforward about what to expect and showed up exactly when she said she would. Her work is hands down the best quality around, and she took the time to listen to what we wanted and delivered it perfectly. She's down to earth and genuinely cares about capturing your story, not just clicking photos. We didn't just gain a photographer—we made a friend for life.

The Leighton Co.
Rating: 5.0 (1 review)
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Serves Port Clyde, ME

Becca and Scott are a husband and wife team creating story-driven photography and Super 8 films for couples who value art, trust the process, and understand the importance of slowing down. We're drawn to the quiet, meaningful moments that often pass unnoticed: the way time feels when you're fully immersed in it, the laughter and light that fills a room when everyone you love is together.

I highly recommend Becca and Scott. I sent in an inquiry form, and soon after Becca scheduled a call for us to discuss what we envisioned for our wedding day and to tell us about their different packages. We were not certain that we wanted a videographer, but Becca and Scott helped to guide us to make the best choice for us. Leading up to our wedding day, Becca was great about communicating with us. And best of all she created a day of timeline for us! I was so stressed about the timing of the day, but once I saw her suggested timeline, I knew it would work out great. On the day of our wedding, both Becca and Scott were awesome. They were supportive and kind, making sure that we were comfortable and able to be where we wanted to. We never felt awkward or like we were “forcing it” for the cameras. Post wedding, Becca and Scott were again great about communicating with us about when they would deliver our finalized photos and video. Both our engagement and wedding photos/ videos are beautiful. The Leighton Co has a timeless style that we love, and they do a great job of capturing you and your day as it is. It is very obvious how much hard work they put in, and how dedicated they are to the couples they work with. I know that we will look back at our pictures and videos for many years and instantly remember how loved we felt that day.

She was thorough with all of her questions, and made sure that we were all on the same understanding of how her process worked. During our engagement photos, she made us feel comfortable, and we could be our goofy selves, which made the photos feel so much more real, rather than posed. She is a natural and would make anyone feel beautiful/handsome! Our wedding photos still make me tear up! They are so beautiful, and she and her sister did the most amazing job! Hey there, I’m Holly! I’m a wedding and engagement photographer based in Roanoke, VA, and I’m all about capturing love stories in the most authentic and heartfelt way possible. My photography style is raw, emotional, timeless, and fun. Whether I’m photographing a tender moment between a couple or the spontaneous laughter during a celebration, I strive to capture the genuine connection and joy shared on your big day. There’s nothing more rewarding for me than freezing those fleeting moments so you can relive them for years to come. If you’re looking for a documentary photographer who can capture your day as it unfolds, I’d love to chat!!

Awarded Best of Zola
I originally chose Holly for my photographer because we had a very specific theme for our wedding (Destiny the video game). It must have also been Destiny that she played the game and was familiar with the theme. Also, she was amazingly flexible and willing to work with our budget. Her correspondence with me was always quick and prompt. Even when it came to getting my professional pictures and sneak peaks all back, I was told it would be up to 2 months for return, but she had them back in only a week or two's time. Unfortunately, (as these things sometimes happen) Holly was not able to actually come do our photos due to getting extremely sick (which no one can help), so we had to have a stand in photographer named Justin. I know we (including herself) were all bummed she could not be there considering we were all excited and familiar with the theme. Despite not having Holly, Justin was still very nice to work with and did an amazing job. I did notice that the best pictures (of course) were the ones he had time to actually position and pose us for. I think my biggest regret was I wish I had had more time and funds to pay for more time for him to pose us and take these more less candid photos. I was sad to find that we missed out on getting individual photos of my daughters and all four of them on their own. Also there were no photos of my husband with his second oldest daughter which really upset her... But again, I don't blame the photographer for this. It really was chalked up to a lack of time. Also, one of my daughters changed into more comfortable clothes during dinner so that took away from us being able to get the nice pictures I had wanted. So I can't emphasize enough that I don't blame the photographers for this at all... It was just one of my biggest regrets on my part of the night. I again, wish I had built more time and been able to contribute more money to more pictures that could be done in this manner. I definitely recommend this team. They are so nice and do their best to check off all of the boxes that you want. They work with you and are quick and efficient with what they do.
