Johanna Sorrell Photography
Rating: 5.0 (15 reviews)
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $4,500
  • Serves Port Clyde, ME

I’ve been making pictures since I was 12. My parents gave me an ancient 35mm Konica Autoreflex camera, told me to get after it, and the rest, as they say, is history. My role as a photographer is to capture the rare, vulnerable, epic, extraordinary, and wonderfully ordinary moments of life, as well as the beautiful details in between. I strive to make images that come from the heart and will tell your story for years to come. Also, I might cry at your wedding. It happens.

I don’t know where to begin! I was hoping to find a photographer who was easy to be around, wouldn’t make us feel stiff and captured the true joys of the day. Jo is your person! She was incredible. We are avid hikers and mountain people and Jo didn’t bat an eye when I asked if she would come over to hike our favorite mountain for sunset/first look photos the Thursday before our wedding. They are the most special photos we have from our wedding and it truly was such an intimate time for us to share together before the big day (my husband, Jo and I all together!) and it made for such an easy transition to working with her on wedding day. Jo captured all the action, often pulling off crazy maneuvers or every laying on the dance floor to get the perfect shots. In the lead up to the wedding she was always available, happy to chat about ideas and really valued what was most important to us. She easily brought on an amazing second photographer as we got closer and picked someone who she truly thought would mesh well with us. I’m not someone who documents much with progressional photography, but I’m truly looking forward to more life events so I can give Jo a call.

Communication with VMG Weddings was super relaxed and easy, they understood everything I wanted. We were blessed to have both Matt & Des capture our special night. The work they produced was incredible - they were so detail-oriented and worked tirelessly to bring my wedding day dreams to reality. They incorporated the beautiful cemetery on the property into my photos because they could tell it was something I would love. The photographers were also so helpful, fluffing my dress, checking my hair and makeup, and even bustling my dress multiple times throughout the night. It felt like having extra friends there to make sure everything was perfect. Definitely hire VMG Weddings for your wedding - they'll make it a true fairytale for you!

Revolution Summer Photography
Rating: 5.0 (47 reviews)
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $3,380
  • Serves Port Clyde, ME

Nostalgia drove me into photography at an early age - and lead me into my studies of photojournalism. We all innately know when we're at a critical juncture in our lives. For me, being able to authentically capture, to preserve those moments in a photograph is such a privilege. I know how much it means to me to be able to look back and say 'this is how things actually happened.' There is beauty in those truths. The kind of folks I work with share that appreciation.

Awarded Best of Zola
Corey took incredible photos of our day, and we couldn't be more grateful. He really put us at ease, was personable with us and our guests, and was great at keeping us on schedule once we got into the thick of the celebrations. I would describe Corey's photography style as documentary, which was perfect for us, because we didn't want our photos to look too choreographed. His shots look really organic, and we appreciate that he stayed true to the vibe of our day. We will remember our wedding even more clearly because Corey's shots captured the action, and are not just an album of posed 'moments'. Really the photos speak for themselves, but we can't recommend him enough!

Sarah Gagnon Photography
Rating: 5.0 (9 reviews)
  • Classic style
  • Starts at $1,200
  • Serves Port Clyde, ME

Every weekend you'll find me oohing over a wedding dress, and holding my breath for the first moment the groom sees the bride. The wedding style I like the most is candid, but I definitely don't mind posing a nervous couple, or arranging that perfect artistic shot before the light changes. I am patient, calm, and encouraging... I think I get along with everyone... I'm like the nerdy extra bridesmaid with a really killer camera.

Awarded Best of Zola
Sarah was amazing to work with throughout our whole wedding process! We had our engagement session with her back in August and she shot our wedding last weekend; she really strives to capture authenticity and it shows. As a couple who both have very expressive faces, I loved getting all the "traditional" moments, as well as all of our the funny, goofy "blooper" moments. She was punctual, timely with responses, and her turn around speed is fantastic! Sarah, thank you once again for helping us capture our story! We cannot thank you enough!!!

Rebekah Wheeler Photography & Design was a dream to work with for our wedding day. Their communication style was refreshingly upfront, clear, and easy, which made the entire process smooth and stress-free. The quality of their work is truly exceptional - the photos are natural, environmental, and crisp with perfect focus. Rebekah was incredibly accommodating to our requests, including taking charge to get all the group photos done efficiently, which was no easy task. She also went above and beyond by meticulously recreating a special photo to mimic my parents' wedding photo, which means the world to us. I've loved seeing the sneak peeks so far and can't wait to see the full album. Rebekah is a true professional who helped make our wedding day perfect.

BrightWorks Photography
Rating: 5.0 (4 reviews)
  • Fine art style
  • Starts at $4,800
  • Serves Port Clyde, ME

I have a long history as a photographer, starting in my twenties with large format view cameras, publishing a book of black and white portraits of Newfoundlanders, studying under Ansel Adams at his Yosemite workshops, and with Aaron Siskind and Harry Callahan at the Rhode Island School of Design. Now, my cameras and equipment are all the latest digital models, but I still rely on my experience and a well trained eye for capturing the optimal moment.

Awarded Best of Zola
We recently had the privilege of working with Brightworks Photography for our wedding and I must say, we couldn't be more thrilled with the results. Steve, Rebecca, and Gabe were a dream team who were professional, friendly, and extremely talented from start to finish. Their personalities melded well with ours and made for an enjoyable day as they masterfully captured all the special moments of our wedding without interrupting our experience. Our engagement photo session with them allowed us to get to know them personally and understand their methods which ultimately made our wedding day run much smoother. Their attention to detail resulted in breathtaking photos (even ensuring we had a few particular shots we came up with). Importantly, Steve and Rebecca did their research, taking the time to learn the names and photos of all the important people in our wedding to ensure everyone had an A picture and they conducted a detailed study of the venue to ensure all the best angles of light were used. I would highly recommend Brightworks Photography to anyone searching for a top-notch photography team for their special day. Thank you, Brightworks Photography, for preserving the memories of our unforgettable day that we will cherish forever.

Peter is the best!!! We first met Peter while he was shooting a promotional video for Medomak Family Camp in Washington, Maine, and that video was gorgeous, so when we needed a photographer for our elopement in Acadia, Peter was the obvious choice. My husband and I had never taken professional pictures before, but Peter made us feel so comfortable and at ease through the whole process. He guided us through each location and pose suggestion like he had a great vision, and when we got the pictures back, we knew he definitely did! Our pictures were beautifully and skillfully edited and we will cherish them literally forever. Thank you, Peter!!!

  • Serves Port Clyde, ME

Aaron Snow is a wedding and portrait photographer based in Camden, Maine, offering photography service to all of New England. He has photographed nearly 400 weddings and events in 18 states over his 20 year professional career.

Aaron was the perfect choice for our wedding photographer. We are beyond thrilled with the experience and photos. Aaron was so calm and he brought the best zen energy to both our engagement photo session and wedding. It was the perfect balance of giving direction and letting us move naturally through the shoot/day. We were nervous going in to our engagement photos and left feeling like we had so much fun. He made us feel so comfortable. The quality of his work was stunning and exactly what we were looking for- timeless and natural but elevated. He really captured the emotion of every moment. It was so fun looking through photos and seeing the essence of a family member or friend captured. And to boot, he was so low profile- I honestly don’t remember seeing him at all outside of our portraits but he was somehow everywhere capturing everyone and all the little details. Aaron was easy to work with, timely, and highly professional. We could not recommend more highly and are so appreciative of his work.

Hi, I’m Nicole! I’m a Maine wedding photographer who loves capturing real moments and genuine connections. My style is relaxed, easygoing, and focused on making sure you feel comfortable in front of the camera. Whether you’re planning a small intimate wedding or a full day celebration, I’m there to document the laughs, happy tears, and everything in between.

When our original photographer backed out just a month before our wedding, we were in a real bind. NLP Photography stepped up and saved the day, and we couldn't be more grateful. From our first conversation, she was straightforward about what to expect and showed up exactly when she said she would. Her work is hands down the best quality around, and she took the time to listen to what we wanted and delivered it perfectly. She's down to earth and genuinely cares about capturing your story, not just clicking photos. We didn't just gain a photographer—we made a friend for life.

The Leighton Co.
Rating: 5.0 (1 review)
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Serves Port Clyde, ME

Becca and Scott are a husband and wife team creating story-driven photography and Super 8 films for couples who value art, trust the process, and understand the importance of slowing down. We're drawn to the quiet, meaningful moments that often pass unnoticed: the way time feels when you're fully immersed in it, the laughter and light that fills a room when everyone you love is together.

I highly recommend Becca and Scott. I sent in an inquiry form, and soon after Becca scheduled a call for us to discuss what we envisioned for our wedding day and to tell us about their different packages. We were not certain that we wanted a videographer, but Becca and Scott helped to guide us to make the best choice for us. Leading up to our wedding day, Becca was great about communicating with us. And best of all she created a day of timeline for us! I was so stressed about the timing of the day, but once I saw her suggested timeline, I knew it would work out great. On the day of our wedding, both Becca and Scott were awesome. They were supportive and kind, making sure that we were comfortable and able to be where we wanted to. We never felt awkward or like we were “forcing it” for the cameras. Post wedding, Becca and Scott were again great about communicating with us about when they would deliver our finalized photos and video. Both our engagement and wedding photos/ videos are beautiful. The Leighton Co has a timeless style that we love, and they do a great job of capturing you and your day as it is. It is very obvious how much hard work they put in, and how dedicated they are to the couples they work with. I know that we will look back at our pictures and videos for many years and instantly remember how loved we felt that day.

Holly was immediately responsive & answered all our questions in detail. She was incredible at our engagement shoot & had even looked up several nearby parks to choose from, & looked at great locations within the 1 we chose to shoot our engagement photos. I was able to change outfits & my fiance/now husband & I felt totally comfortable despite it being our 1st time having professional photography focused on us with her down to earth & direct communication style. Our photos turned out gorgeous & classic. On our wedding day, we had a lot of unexpected things happen like wind & rain at our outdoor ceremony & photography session, but she handled it all with grace & got our photos done beautifully & timely with our wedding party & immediate family as we wanted. We did some outdoor portrait photos & got some adorable ones inside our bridal suite. It was relieving to see her there every step of our 8 hours we hired her for, including our pivotal dances, cake cutting, dancing, etc. She even went above & beyond her job by stepping in several times in several ways when our coordinator was completely forgetful & careless. She communicated with my Mom who was very high strung & quick tempered beautifully. My husband & I literally cannot thank her enough for how beautifully & peacefully she took care of our photos & us on our our wedding. Would recommend her 10x over.
