Joe Dolen Photography is a husband-and-wife wedding photography team based in Massachusetts, serving couples throughout New England and beyond. Our style blends photojournalistic storytelling with guided portraits, using prompts, cues, and simple direction to help people feel natural and comfortable while still capturing real moments as they unfold. We focus on creating a relaxed, organized experience so our clients can stay present and enjoy their wedding day.
With nearly two decades of experience photographing New England weddings, we bring a calm, steady presence to every celebration. Couples often tell us we were “everywhere and nowhere at the same time.” We offer guidance and simple direction when it’s helpful and step back when it’s not, allowing the day to unfold naturally while capturing genuine, true-to-life moments.

Highly Recommend Joe Dolen Photography
We seriously can't recommend Joe Dolen Photography enough! From the moment we met Joe and Elin, they made us feel so comfortable. We had a few meetings with them before the wedding, and every single one was so helpful. They were so easy to talk to, answered every question we had, and walked us through the timeline for the day. By the time our wedding came around, we felt so prepared and were actually excited instead of nervous. Neither of us had any idea how to pose or what to do in front of a camera, but they guided us through everything and made it feel so easy and natural. They somehow made taking pictures one of the most fun parts of the day. Being in front of a camera can feel a little awkward at first, but they made us feel completely comfortable and had us laughing the whole time. They knew exactly how to keep everything moving while still capturing every special moment. Our guests couldn't stop talking about how great they were too. They were so friendly, organized, and made everyone feel comfortable. You could tell they genuinely love what they do, and it showed in every interaction. Looking through our photos brings us right back to the day, and we couldn't be happier with how everything turned out!! If you're looking for photographers who are talented, fun, and make the whole experience stress-free, Joe Dolen Photography is the way to go. We are so thankful they were part of our wedding day!

Beautiful Spring Day
Joe Dolen Photography was fantastic to work with from start to finish. He kept things professional but also made us feel comfortable in front of the camera, which really showed in our photos. Joe was pushy about getting us to take pictures with the people who mattered most to us, and we're so glad he was because those are now our favorites. His work has a fun energy that perfectly captured the joy of our wedding day. The only thing I wish is that we'd asked him to take more candid shots throughout the reception, but that's on us, not him. We'd absolutely recommend Joe to any couple looking for a photographer who delivers quality work without taking himself too seriously.

AMAZING Photographers
Absolutely fabulous. They photographed my wedding this past weekend, and I already have my sneak peek! They are so easy to work with, incredibly efficient (we got ALL my photos done before cocktail hour), and very professional. The photos came out absolutely gorgeous - can't wait to see the full album!!!

Joe is THE BEST!
Joe was our wedding photographer and he was absolutely amazing!!!! Not only do our photos look stunning, but Joe was so friendly and great to work with. He was so accommodating to getting any and all pictures we wanted, and day of having so much flexibility and yet still kept us running on time! And somehow also gave me and my husband time to eat haha! We also did the engagement photoshoot which was great to get comfortable taking photos beforehand and made everything run so smoothly day of. Couldn't recommend Joe more to any bride or for any photo event!!!!

We truly cannot say enough incredible things about Joe and Elin. From the very beginning, they were an absolute dream to work with. They were professional, organized, responsive, and so clearly passionate about what they do. I actually found Joe and Elin through a recommendation from our DJ, and then I was lucky enough to collaborate with them through my job. Getting to see them work with so many couples before my own big day was such a gift. I watched firsthand how they care for their clients, how seamlessly they run a wedding day, and how consistently they deliver beautiful, emotional galleries. By the time our wedding arrived, I already knew we were in the very best hands, and they still exceeded every expectation! Throughout the planning process, they made everything feel easy and seamless. They answered every question, helped us feel prepared, and brought such a calm, confident presence that immediately put us at ease. On the wedding day, that energy meant everything. They kept us on schedule without ever making us feel rushed and somehow managed to be everywhere at once while still being completely unobtrusive. Everyone in the wedding party absolutely LOVED them and has said over and over again what a wonderful job they did. But beyond their professionalism, what truly sets Joe and Elin apart is their heart. They genuinely cared about us, not just as clients, but as people. They captured the big, emotional moments so beautifully, but also the small, quiet in-between moments that we’ll cherish forever. Some of my favorite photos were just our real reactions and emotions in the moment, and I love that. Looking through our photos feels like reliving the entire day all over again. They went above and beyond in every way, and we are so incredibly grateful they were part of our wedding.
