“We had the pleasure of having our daughter’s reception at the Inn. We were forced to relocate to their venue because of a gas leak at our original location. 5 hours before the wedding! The entire staff, especially Mary the manager and Matt the bartender went over and above to make sure our reception went well. Everyone enjoyed the beautiful grounds and venue space. If they can do what they did for us in 5 hours. I can only imagine what would have been with 5 months of planning! Thanks again for your attention to detail and hospitality, you saved the day….”

The Abbey Inn & Spa
Rating: 4.2 (5 reviews)
Peekskill, NY
  • Up to 130 guests
  • All-inclusive
  • Outdoor & indoor
  • Starts at $18,000

With its views over the Hudson River Highlands, Fort Hill was a key lookout post for George Washington and his army during the Revolutionary War; in 1902, it became home to a convent and chapel, established by the Episcopal Sisters of Saint Mary. The chapel offers a unique venue for important occasions, and a peaceful English garden provides s gorgeous background for photos. Lovingly restored and meticulously designed, our hotel pays homage to its historic heritage while offering contemporary amenities and world-class service to each and every guest. All of us at The Abbey Inn and Spa are thrilled to be part of this exciting transformation, and we’re eager to share it with you.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Provides event staff
  • Combines timeless elegance with history

Venue considerations

  • No built-in audiovisual options
  • Not for you if you are looking for something nontraditional
“We recently got married in Peekskill and stayed at the Abbey and had our rehearsal dinner, welcome drinks, and morning after brunch there. The building and the grounds are beautiful. The food was very good and they were able to accommodate our dietary restrictions and guests needs. The rooms were nice, spacious, and very clean. Everyone had positive things to say about the events held at the space. There are two things that bring down this review. The first is that the event/sales staff is very hard to get in touch with. We left countless voicemails and sent many emails that all went unanswered. The turnover of the staff was quite high, and we never knew who we were going to be speaking with. The second major issue was that there is only one elevator and no freight elevator. The morning of our wedding the elevator was out of service. There are only 2 stories to the hotel so that is not the issue, but the wheelchair accessible room, which a guest of ours who is in a wheelchair was given, was on the second floor. Thankfully the elevator was fixed and he was able to make it to our wedding, but in the event of an emergency, we don’t know what would have happened.”

“Black Walnut Farm is an unbelievable venue that far exceeded our expectations for our wedding. Beyond the incredible property, the owners are excellent to work with from your first tour to even after your event. To start, the barn and the surrounding grounds look incredible and are so beautifully manicured. So many of our guests complimented the venue. The staff also blended very seamlessly with our caterer. We used Bridge Creek Catering, who were unbelievably on top of it, and between the venue and the caterers there wasn’t a single hiccup. Sarah’s day-of coordination definitely tied everything together and gave us a ton of confidence that event would run smoothly. We rented a tent for our reception and had it placed on the main lawn. The scene behind us, wild grass and a line of trees, is absolutely stunning in our photos. And the ceremony space in the woods is honestly magical. The farmhouse on the property, where the wedding party can stay for the duration of their weekend, is so comfortable and classic. The MASSIVE fireplace in the parlor is so amazing. And who doesn’t love a hot tub? We can’t say enough good things about Black Walnut.”

“My husband and I got married at Hotel Lilien last September and the entire weekend exceeded our wildest expectations. Coordinating with Daniel and Jules was excellent throughout the entire process and they responded timely with answers, solutions, and suggestions. The staff was very flexible and was able to adapt to decisions that were made the week before based on weather. Throughout our entire stay they were extremely attentive and helpful with all requests, specifically Chris, Jason, Anthony, and Kiera. They really made our weekend perfect. Each room was pristine when we arrived and every single attendee mentioned how much they loved the accommodations. The food was also amazing, people couldn’t stop talking about the grilled cheese, tomato soup, and charcuterie/burrata boards. Looking back on our wedding as a whole, choosing Hotel Lilien was the perfect decision and we are so grateful for their entire staff making the whole experience so magical. The hotel has so much history and the original owner’s daughter, Meta Lilienthal, has a personal memoir called Dear Remembered World and the book describes her life in both Manhattan and Upstate back in the 1890s. While the property is now a hotel, the new owners have managed to expertly craft an environment that makes you feel right at home. Couldn’t recommend more!”

“Our experience working with Belleayre Lodge couldn’t have been better. Gigi, Angel, Brian, and Matt, worked together with us so seamlessly to make our wedding weekend absolutely perfect. We rented the property Friday through Sunday and hosted just around 60 guest. The guest who didn’t fit in the cabins, (and also didn’t want the late night shenanigans) stayed at the hotels literally right across the street. Our guest arrived Friday night and we hosted a rehearsal dinner with a food truck and cash bar (run by the lodge). Saturday was our wedding day. We got married at the local ski mountain (Belleayre Mountain) and returned to Belleayre Lodge for our cocktail hour and reception. The food was absolutely amazing during both cocktail hour and our dinner. We had a beer and wine bar, with local drinks, as well as homemade ice tea and lemonade. We had a cake from a local bakery and ice cream bar from a local creamery for dessert. Sunday morning we hosted a farewell breakfast. The coffee and food, again were phenomenal. The decor and little touches made everything perfect. There was so much thought put into ever part of our wedding and their passion showed in their work. I am so glad we took the chance on this new location. It truly was the best day!”

“We had our wedding at The Arnold House on September 6, 2025, and it was everything we dreamed of and more! Literally every moment exceeded all expectations and I can’t stress enough that if I could give 1,000 stars I would. The grounds and spaces are absolutely breathtaking, from the ceremony sites to the reception areas, every corner of the property is filled with whimsy and wonder. Our photographer had an endless supply of amazing spots for photos throughout the weekend! Most people will tour the venue during the off season and believe me when I say it is worth the wait to see it in all its glory come summer/fall! The barn barely needs decorating, it's SO charming itself, the greenhouse is incredible with all its plants and life, the sunroom is the cutest spot ever, the outdoor ceremony sites are so magical with the trees, wildflowers and pond, the bluestone patio was perfect for our private first dance and the big circle meadow for ceremony or rehearsal dinner is literally straight out of a taylor swift music video. I was obsessed. But what makes The Arnold House so special is the people. From the moment we arrived, the entire team made us feel completely at home and like family. And not like we were in their home but like they were in OUR home. They constantly reminded us that the property was ours for the weekend, our friends and family felt it and so did we. Will and Emily were by our side every step of the way — no request was ever too big, and their calm, caring presence made the whole experience seamless and stress-free. Their level of customer service is something I’ve truly never seen. You know they’re good when guests that weren’t even involved in the process were naming them and singing their praises. Rita and Lori brought such energy and kindness behind the bar and during late-night festivities; they made sure every guest felt welcome and cared for with amazing cocktails and conversation just such a blast! Also cannot get through this without stating that our guests are still raving about the food — Brittany is an incredible chef, and we heard over and over again that this was the best wedding meal they had ever had. And you know it’s true when they’re calling out dishes by name “OMG the horseradish sauce on the steak? Those crispy brussels? And the whipped feta?” Every bite was thoughtful, flavorful, and beautifully presented and felt super personal and not at all cookie cutter. And cannot leave out John who greeted everyone with such warmth and attentiveness, all the way through to our final morning when he made us a farewell breakfast that was so sweet and such a thoughtful send off. In general there wasn’t a thing that felt cookie cutter about my wedding because they made me feel like I had full autonomy over the weekend and it really showed. I really wanted my wedding to feel unique and Arnold House not only allowed for that but encouraged it every step of the way. Seriously every single space at The Arnold House radiates happiness and love, but it’s the people who make it truly extraordinary. Bottom line if rustic modern is your vibe HAVE YOUR WEDDING HERE. I toured multiple places and no one compared from then til now. My husband, our parents, our bridal parties, and guests all could not stop raving about every aspect of arnold house. It is truly a magical place with incredible people who want nothing more than to help make all your dreams come true. And I can honestly say they did and then some. THANK YOU!”

“We had the pleasure of meeting Jennifer and other staff members at the Heritage Hotel for our wedding. Jennifer was always available to answer any questions I had along the way and gave us a tour of the venue multiple times. We had our rehearsal dinner there and they set up the room beautifully. The food for both the rehearsal and wedding were delicious and there was something for everyone to enjoy. They even offer centerpieces for the tables and to set up and break down decor and assign you a maitre de for the day of that is always getting you drinks and making sure you're comfortable. The venue is so beautiful and made for the best pictures! It's also super convenient that the ceremony, reception, after party, and hotel are all in the same location so there's no need to worry about traveling. The only down fall was that we lost power the night before the wedding for a couple hours and was surprised they didn't have a generator. But would definitely recommend having your wedding at the Heritage as it's a beautiful place with professional staff who are guaranteed to make you feel so important on your special day.”

Combined with all of the amenities Wylder offers, it was a no-brainer. The wedding weekend would not have gone as smoothly as it did without the incredible staff, particularly Andrea and Faith. From the moment of our first phone call until we were leaving the farewell brunch, they took care of us every step of the way. Everyone was so welcoming and accommodating, and Wylder truly felt like our home for the weekend.
