About this venue

With its views over the Hudson River Highlands, Fort Hill was a key lookout post for George Washington and his army during the Revolutionary War; in 1902, it became home to a convent and chapel, established by the Episcopal Sisters of Saint Mary. The abbey and its chapel have been converted into The Abbey Inn & Spa – a luxury hotel with 42 rooms and suites, a Michelin recommended farm-to-table restaurant under the direction of Chef Peter X. Kelly, a luxurious spa, an outdoor pool, and over 65 acres to explore. The chapel offers a unique venue for important occasions, and a peaceful English garden provides s gorgeous background for photos. Lovingly restored and meticulously designed, our hotel pays homage to its historic heritage while offering contemporary amenities and world-class service to each and every guest. The Cornerstone Room at The Abbey Inn, located in the former convent, is the perfect venue for smaller events or a more intimate wedding.     We recently got married in Peekskill and stayed at the Abbey and had our rehearsal dinner, welcome drinks, and morning after brunch there. The building and the grounds are beautiful. The food was very good and they were able to accommodate our dietary restrictions and guests needs. The rooms were nice, spacious, and very clean. Everyone had positive things to say about the events held at the space. There are two things that bring down this review. The first is that the event/sales staff is very hard to get in touch with. We left countless voicemails and sent many emails that all went unanswered. The turnover of the staff was quite high, and we never knew who we were going to be speaking with. The second major issue was that there is only one elevator and no freight elevator. The morning of our wedding the elevator was out of service. There are only 2 stories to the hotel so that is not the issue, but the wheelchair accessible room, which a guest of ours who is in a wheelchair was given, was on the second floor. Thankfully the elevator was fixed and he was able to make it to our wedding, but in the event of an emergency, we don’t know what would have happened.

    My fiancé and I are getting married at The Abbey Inn & Spa this fall. All I can say is this venue is absolutely FLAWLESS!! What makes it so flawless is how they kept the history of Peekskill tide in throughout the entire venue. Hands-down to Eileen who is the wedding coordinator at The Abbey Inn & Spa. From the moment we met her there was a connection. Any questions I had she answered with extreme confidence. She tells you how it is and I absolutely love that! She is always checking in especially with COVID-19 pandemic. Eileen is truly first in class. You will not want to look at another venue after you see The Abbey! ❤️

    I was one of few original wedding photographers to capture Abbey Inn's grand opening commercial photo shoot. I was extremely impressed by not only the polite construction and staff at the facility, but also how they had EVERYTHING figured out for large scale weddings and events to take place at their location. They have stunning-luxury hotel rooms & suites, a restaurant, bar and lounge space, gorgeous views of the Hudson valley, a cathedral -aesthetic ceremony and reception hall, lush gardens and lawns, plenty of parking, JUST A PERFECT SPOT for weddings and events so travel isn't an issue. ONE STOP SHOP :D I highly recommend this wedding venue!
