Born and raised on the island of Oahu, Dayna developed interest in special events through her extensive work experiences and college eduction. It was the moment she married her husband, a Paniolo (cowboy) from Hawai’i Island, that she found her passion to help other couples with their own wedding. Their wedding theme was “Mauka to Makai” meaning “from the mountain side to the ocean side” because of where they grew up - similar to how the Naupaka is grown on the mountain side and by the ocean side.

Naupaka Events was incredible! We hired Dayna as our Day of Coordinator, the owner of Naupaka Events, 3 months before our wedding and felt an instant connection with her. I had spoke with 4 other planners prior, all that made us feel like just another wedding. Dayna was different, she made you feel that your wedding was just as special to her as it was to us. As soon as we hired her, I was instantly less stressed and enjoyed the planning process so much more. She helped me get organized right away. Our venue was a beautiful estate, which had some challenges. When she was hired, the first thing she did was book a property tour so she was fully prepared. I had also never seen our venue in person since I was in California, so she took tons of videos and pictures for me. She helped me find vendors when I was having trouble, she worked with my budget, came up with great options for any issues that arose, kept all my vendors on the same page and organized, and was always available to talk/ answer all questions. My husband and I were supposed to clear lanai furniture at the house the day before the wedding so the supply rental company could deliver everything. However, the company came early to deliver and we were still on our snorkel tour. Dayna and her husband drove to our venue and took care of it all, so we could just enjoy our tour. They moved tons of furniture for us, and saved us so much stress. It was just one of the many things Dayna did extra to ensure everything went smoothly. The day of the wedding was so relaxing because Dayna did everything while I just enjoyed getting ready. She set up tons of candles, place cards, pictures, chairs, tables, signs, and the entire bar. As the ceremony started, so did the rain unexpectedly. Again, thanks to Danya I had no worries. She took care of everything since our reception was mostly outside. Moved tables and rearranged so everyone was under cover. The day went perfect and the rain really had no effect. Dayna goes the extra mile and more! She helps create your perfect day, understanding what you want and making it happen. I felt so comfortable with her and enjoyed every conversation we had. She is extremely professional, and filled with aloha. Thank you Naupaka Events for our dream day!

We worked with Sandra for almost 2 years planning our wedding. When we started, we had a strong idea of what we wanted for our wedding but a really hard time finding the right venue in California. Hiring Sandra was one of the best decisions in our wedding planning process we could have made. She found 25 venue options for us and scheduled in person site visits. Without her, we would not have found the perfect venue for our vision. Our favorite part of hiring Sandra was that it never felt like work planning our wedding. It was as fun as we wanted it to be. I was happily planning my own wedding with the help of a friend, and it gradually dawned on me that I didn't want either of us running around with a clipboard directing the details and dealing with minor crises on my actual wedding day. So I found someone to be my "day-of" coordinator with just a month till the wedding. Then after 2 weeks, she canceled because of illness. We were really down to the last minute, and Pomai saved the day! She took the time to meet with my team of three (talking all at once) and immediately lifted our load by taking on all the tasks of decor and direction, and she brought three helpers for serving and cleanup on my wedding day, who were just as competent and friendly as she was, for a reasonable price. Having Erika as our wedding coordinator was the best decision we could have made! She was professional, personable, and so knowledgeable. I was very on the fence for getting a coordinator as I am a very organized person, but I could not be more glad we did. The day was stress-free and exactly how I hoped it would be! We had regularly scheduled meetings to go through the necessities, and she was extremely responsive if I had any other questions outside of our meetings. Not to mention, she kept me on track for things I had forgotten, and was our go to person for the things we weren’t sure on. I was planning my backyard wedding and reached out to a few different day of coordinators. Kimberly responded immediately. She has been an amazing communicator, full of awesome ideas, and always went above and beyond despite just being our “day of”. We finally met at my rehearsal and she was so nice and truly worked nonstop to get everything ready. I heard so many comments about what an amazing job she was doing before and during our wedding. She helped make cocktails, set tables, suggested awesome ideas, saw the vision, went on a Trader Joe’s flower run, poured champagne, cut the cake, etc etc and made sure everything was running smoothly. To say this was a huge help would be an understatement. She is awesome and I can’t recommend her enough if you are planning your wedding!

April was FANTASTIC!! I was unsure whether or not I wanted a coordinator- I had a hard time “giving up” control of my big day. When I first spoke with April- I knew that she was THE ONE! Kind, patient, understanding, and also a little bit of a perfectionist. ;) I hired April as “Day of Coordinator” only. April took everything I gave her on my wedding day and ran with it. She took my planning binder and I said “Good Luck!” She made it all happen! She quickly and effortlessly made my dream wedding perfect. She helped with decor, setting up, getting my dress on, helping me use the bathroom, putting my shoes on… anything you could think of!! And the professionalism and kindness was next level! A few days/weeks later, my bridesmaids told me about little fires that April put out that I had no idea about- problems with the DJ, the groomsmen trying to get drunk before walking down the aisle (April stopped them), and our Happily Ever After sign that kept falling. She handled all of this without me even knowing! The best decision I made (besides who to marry) on the day of my wedding was hiring April!! You won’t regret it!!

If you read any review, read this one. For context, I'm a producer, my entire career is planning big scale events, productions, and hiring people. We went through 3 coordinators before finding Tara and it was because I had such a high standard for who I wanted to help me on my wedding day. Tara was, hands down, the best thing that could have happened to us for our wedding. We had multiple setbacks and last minute changes and none of them threw Tara off her step. She was honest with us 100% of the time about what was possible and what wasn't possible. And whenever either of us had concerns, Tara's response was always exactly what we needed to hear. She assured us that everything would work out and she would take care of it and she absolutely did. We did all of the decorations for our wedding ourselves and relied on Tara to set it up and execute our vision. Not only were we both FLOORED walking down the aisle seeing what she had done, it was actually better than we could have ever imagined. Additionally, after the wedding I found out that there was an issue with our credit card that almost prevented the vendor from delivering the items on time - Tara took care of it without telling us (the best thing a wedding coordinator can do) and I really appreciated how it was handled without needing to ask us. I can't say this enough, Tara was the best thing that ever happened to us for our wedding. Truly I don't think we paid her enough. We are so incredibly grateful for what she's done for us and if we were to ever have a huge event in need of planning, I'd hire her in a heartbeat. Stop looking for a coordinator, just hire her. If you see this same review on multiple sites, it is because I will never stop copying and pasting how amazing this woman and her business is. Wishing you all as great of a wedding as we had.

How can I even put into words how absolutely incredible Kay and her team are?! My wife and I booked a power planning session with Kay in December 2020, shortly after getting engaged. From just that two hour meeting, we learned more about our budget, priorities, and expectations than we had from years of dreaming of our wedding. Kay was so confident and generous in her knowledge, we clicked immediately and as soon as the call ended, we looked and each other and said: "We HAVE to hire her to plan our wedding." As soon we officially booked with Kay, we jumped into regular meetings, endless email advice, vendor recommendations- the works! She also took over all communication and confirmations the month of our wedding which was an absolute lifesaver. Planning our wedding alongside Kay are memories we will cherish always. She is as kind and easy to work alongside as she is professional and precise. Her attention to detail and dedication to our wedding vision remained steadfast throughout the 15 months of planning. She answered every question, solved every problem, and anticipated every need with what seemed like effortless ease. As for the wedding day, her and her team were invaluable assets. My wife and I did not have to worry about a SINGLE detail all day, because we knew KNE had it all covered. She wore about a million hats that day, from designer to therapist to organizer to dress steamer to I'm sure a million other things we weren't privy to because keeping our energy light and happy was her biggest priority. I could go on forever. My biggest message that I hope is taken away from this review is that wedding planners are not only for the "rich and famous" as the media likes to make it seem. Wedding planners, specifically KNE is an unbelievable investment in your time, happiness, mental load, and more. Hiring KNE was the smartest decision we made and at least twice a week we found ourselves saying, "God, what would we do without Kay?!"
