Why you'll love this venue

  • Provides lighting and sound
  • Multiple event spaces
  • Bridal suite on site

Venue considerations

  • Not for you if you're looking for a sleek and contemporary space
  • Does not allow pets
  • Large venue, not ideal for small guest lists
Lake Mohawk Country Club was a fantastic venue for our wedding. Their communication style was very flexible - they were happy to chat with us over email or get on a call whenever we had questions. The space itself is absolutely stunning, and the entire team, especially Karen and Blake, were great to work with throughout the entire process. They went above and beyond, unpacking all of our wedding decor and setting it up perfectly. The food was also delicious! If I had to say one negative thing (just so you know this is real.) ... was the cost of the bridal suite and the den, which felt a bit high. Overall, we had an amazing experience at Lake Mohawk Country Club and would highly recommend them to any couples looking for a beautiful wedding venue.

Where do I even begin? We got married at the Grain House at the Olde Mill Inn on May 23, 2024, and it was nothing short of perfect. The entire wedding planning process was made easy thanks to everyone at the OldMill Inn and Grain House. They are very responsive, which is crucial when planning a wedding. My grandmother and grandfather had their wedding reception here back in 1957, so I knew I wanted to meet with them to discuss having my wedding there. It was the first and only venue we met with. After going on a tour and discussing the different packages with Lea, I was sold. They take care of your accommodations, catering, bar, cake, tables, chairs, etc. My wedding planning “to-do” list was cut in half! Everyone is so accommodating and they really work with you to make sure your day goes perfectly. So many guests told us how they never experienced wedding food to this level. Everything was DELICIOUS! Better yet, we actually got to eat as the bride and groom. The property itself is gorgeous. John was our Matre d’ and he was the best! He made sure we stayed on time, he ran food from the cocktail hour to me and my husband when we were taking photos, and he coordinated with our vendors so we didn’t have to worry. His efforts did not go unnoticed. Once again I had guests come up to me and tell me how amazing he is. I also had guests reach out after to tell me it was the best wedding they have ever been to. All of our vendors were fantastic but the Old Mill Inn and Grain House really did the bulk of the work to make it an unforgettable experience. The hotel itself was wonderful to stay in, everything was so clean and the breakfast was delicious. I wouldn’t change a thing about my wedding day, everything was perfect and I really have the Old Mill Inn and the Grain House to thank for that. I would recommend the Old Mill Inn and the GrainHouse to anyone planning a wedding. It really is the ONLY choice in my opinion. You will not be disappointed.

Still riding the high from our wedding weekend! We were absolutely floored by all the work Jen and Ally and the whole Stagecoach team did to make our wedding weekend spectacular! They have several different packages that you can choose from which allowed us to find something that truly worked for us. We ended up having around 115 guests for the wedding and the space was just perfect! We had been to the Inn for dinner before and we knew we wanted to make food a priority. Chef Jerrel hit it out of the park for the rehearsal dinner, the cocktail hour/reception, and the brunch the next morning! Also because they have rooms upstairs, we were able to have our closest family stay and not have to worry about any travel! We couldn't recommend them enough!

The 76 House is America’s oldest tavern. This document stands as one of America’s first declarations of independence and is often given as the reason we celebrate July 4. The ‘76 accommodates up to 150 guests in 3 distinctly styled dining rooms, each one graced with a glowing fireplace. Whether you’re planning a corporate luncheon for two dozen guests, a family celebration for fifty or a glamorous wedding, personal assistance from our experienced events staff ensures a flawlessly executed occasion to be remembered for years to come. Our vision for our wedding was for all our favorite people having a night out at a bar and the 76 house more than delivered! We loved the historical aspect of the restaurant and they even had little pamphlets our guests could take that shared the history of the venue. This is a bit of an untraditional wedding venue (as it is a restaurant) but that didn’t stop anyone from dancing and having a great time. From the moment we started working with Elisa (our “wedding planner” aka the woman who runs the show) she was detail oriented while willing to work with us throughout the whole process. Whether it was from payment, table arrangements, food, getting the vendors set up, etc. anything we needed, she helped. The food tasting she set up for us was amazing allowing us to try various options for the dinner. We are both laid back people so we let the chef go with any appetizers he wanted. You are able to request anything you want and they will likely be able to do it for you. The chef did not disappoint, ALL of the apps were incredible. We had one guest mention he ate 20 meatballs they were so good. There was chicken, steak skewers, lamb chops, meatballs, hummus/veggie spread (that wasn’t even all that was served). We had eaten at the restaurant a few times so we knew the food was good. However, having to serve 120 people and still make it delicious is tough but they did it well (we went with the chateaubriand, amish chicken, mahi mahi, and vegetable risotto). We requested no pork or nuts for the whole wedding. We had a wedding cake through a bakery they recommended and they also put plates of small desserts out on the tables. Aside from the food, the service was amazing. All the waiters and waitresses were attentive and extremely professional. For us, we constantly had our champagne filled and asked whether we needed something. They were on top of water refills, drink requests, clean up, etc. We really appreciated the service given to us and our guests. We heard so many times during cocktail hour that every time someone turned around they had a food option. While we did not have to go up to the bar, our guests said the bartenders were awesome, quick, and generous! Elisa worked great with our other vendors as well, making sure they had everything they needed and that things were kept on schedule (food, dances, cake, etc). We had a completely stress free evening which allowed us to have the time of our lives. She ensured that our tables were set with the centerpieces, the florals were set up, and she created a menu for us (which is great to have something taken off our plate). Elisa also, set up our various signs and ensured everything was where we had discussed. We were able to drop everything off ahead of time and not have anything to worry about the day of. Our biggest concern going to this venue was the fact that the front room was partially separated from the rest of the restaurant. We decided to sit people there who we knew would be a bit rowdier and on the dance floor so it wasn’t an issue for us at all. It did get pretty toasty in there but we were dancing the whole time and it’s an older building. The air tried its best and while sitting for dinner it was more than comfortable! We are a crazy group so I’m not surprised we were sweating lol. This was the best day and a HUGE part of that is thanks to Elisa and her whole team at the 76 house. Food, service, people are TOP NOTCH. We could go on and on but ran out of space :)

Why you'll love this venue

  • Rustic charm with elegance
  • Handles all cleanup logistics
  • Flexible event spaces

Venue considerations

  • Large venue, not ideal for small guest lists
  • No dedicated areas for getting ready
  • Not for you if you're looking for a sleek and contemporary space
I cannot say enough good things about Blooming Hill Farm! From the stunning location, to the amazing staff, the incredible food, and the overall energy – everything was beyond what we could have dreamed of. We instantly fell in love with the beautifully curated, elegant farm setting. From the back field ceremony locations to the gorgeous white canvas, wooden-beam tent (and everything in between!), it was pure magic. We actually said yes to BHF without even trying the food first—and wow, we are still getting compliments on it from guests almost a year later! The fresh, farm-to-table dishes were absolutely unforgettable. The Staff: We were so lucky to work with Kate as our point person. Wow—she was outstanding. Having worked in the wedding industry myself, I know how rare it is to find someone like her. The attention, care, and professionalism she brought before, during, and even after our wedding was such a relief. From countless emails and planning meetings to the weekend-of setup, Kate and her team handled everything with ease. She made our day so smooth and peaceful—I truly couldn’t imagine working with anyone else. As a very DIY bride, I came in with lots of personal touches—guest book, memorial table, reception centerpieces, and more. Kate didn’t miss a beat. She and her team set everything up beautifully and brought my vision to life with so much care and thoughtfulness. I knew once I handed everything over, it was in the best possible hands. Our day was perfect. I know so many people say that, but I wholeheartedly believe Kate and the BHF team played a huge role in making it so. I cannot recommend Blooming Hill Farm, the team, and especially Kate enough!

Even before stepping foot inside 87 Sussex it already checked a lot of boxes for us. It's a stylish restaurant with a quality menu, walking distance from our church, and not a wedding factory like so many of the larger venues in the area are. From the moment we starting figuring out logistics with Emily we knew we lucked out. Emily was responsive, communicative, and helpful in accommodating our requests and finding solutions to any issues that arose in the planning process. The day of the wedding was everything we hoped for and more. The weather was perfect, so our guests took full advantage of the space- indoor and out. After dinner the downstairs tables were moved to accommodate a dance floor. It was a fun, intimate party with family and friends. From the cocktail hour through the dinner, the food and drinks were elevated, delicious and bountiful. Three months later our guests are still raving about the food. It's not often that wedding guests compliment the staff as much as the dinner itself, but that was also the case at 87 Sussex. The bartenders, hosts, management, and waitstaff were in a festive mood and incredibly attentive to all of our guests. It all made for a special, once-in-a-lifetime celebration.

From the moment we saw the back rooms at Arte Cafe, we knew it would be the perfect venue for our wedding. The staff were incredibly open to our wishes and flexible in working with us to make our vision a reality. The skylight and garden rooms looked absolutely beautiful, with the natural light and greenery creating a magical, airy atmosphere, and hanging lights and chandeliers brought elegance once the sun set. The cocktails, passed appetizers, and dinner buffet were all delicious, and the staff - from the servers and bartenders to the manager - were extremely attentive and prompt. Alexis, the venue coordinator, was very helpful in managing communications with the restaurant and coordinating the kitchen. She could be a bit hard to get in touch with at times and was not at the venue the day-of the wedding, but the management staff took over and the event got set up the way we wanted (although this took some prompting / follow up from us) and flowed seamlessly. We ended up with exactly the wedding we had hoped for. We highly recommend Arte Cafe for any couple looking for a stunning, flexible venue that will truly make your special day feel like a dream come true. You might have to put a bit more of your own time into making sure you get what you asked for, but if you are willing to put in some of the extra effort it is well worth it.

We chose Robert as the venue for our wedding this past November. From the earliest stages of the planning process, Kristi made us feel confident and comfortable. She was always easy to reach for any questions and gave us her full attention. The venue itself is unique, has its own charm and the most stunning views of Central Park which are sure to wow your guests. However, the view comes as a close second to the food! We and our guests were absolutely blown away by the detail put into the food. Each entree was spectacular and cooked exactly how each guest requested. Throughout the day, Richard and the staff were always attentive, making on the fly decisions to maximize the celebration of our wedding and take away any stresses that could have occurred. Overall, the complete harmony of the staff and unique venue make Robert a great choice for those looking to host a party of any variety.

A sophisticated Mediterranean oasis. The decor reflects a modern yet warm connection with nature. Greenery projects from the ceiling, art deco-style mirrors adorn the walls, and custom woodwork art installations create an ambiance that is both cozy and sophisticated. The large glass windows flood the space with natural light, enhancing the earthy color palette of old wooden tones, greenery, and volcanic rock fused with geometric, 3D shapes. The semi- private dining space “ La Mascaret” has its own drinks counter, as well a custom- made undulating wooden sculpture mounted on a wall ( it’s meant to replicate teisting vines and flowing waves, natch) and a glass- encased wine cellar holding over 700 bottles.

Temperance

5.0

New York, NY
  • Up to 75 guests

A vibrant and unpretentious West Village restaurant and wine bar with the best by-the-glass wine list in the world. Our food menu is Mediterranean-inspired and includes an eclectic assortment of small, but shareable bites. Our space is ideal for parties and receptions, but due to its floor plan, does not lend itself to wedding ceremonies or presentations where sight lines are critical.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Provides a dedicated team on-site
  • Creates a sense of togetherness
  • Multiple event spaces

Venue considerations

  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • No on-site bridal suite
  • Dance floor not included
As I planned our surprise engagement, I wanted to choose a location to go after that moment to celebrate with a larger group of friends and family that resonated with both of us, so our local wine spot, Temperance, was perfect. Having no idea whether they would even consider a private party I reached out through an email on the website and quickly realized how kind and accommodating the staff was. We were able to rent out the back patio and fully customize the space with our own set up and outside decorations. As a part of the space rental we were allowed an allotment of more than enough food and, more importantly, a customized collection of reds, whites, oranges and rosès. I’d recommend letting the staff pick the specific wines, they’re the experts after all (they did pick one special wine just for us and immediate family based on my specific request, but I like to pretend that was just for me). It was the perfect place to celebrate with around 25 of our closest friends and family. The one downside was they have a hard cutoff of 10pm due to some vocal neighbors but the staff was very upfront throughout the booking process that that was going to be the case, so there were no surprises. Additionally, because of how much we love the aesthetic inside near the bar and the room fronting Carmine Street, we also asked if we could start our engagement photo shoot at Temperance before they opened one night. Once again, we were met with a staff that went out of their way to help us anyway they could and even gave us a glass of wine each to take the edge off of some poses that feel extremely ridiculous in the moment, but turned out to be great pictures. We were as happy with those pictures as we were with both of those experiences at Temperance.

We recently we had the absolute pleasure of celebrating our wedding at King, our favorite neighborhood spot, and we couldn’t have imagined a more perfect day. To have our wedding here was like having the ultimate family/friend celebration, wrapped in love and familiarity. King is a blend of intimate charm, and NYC energy, and feels like a warm gathering at a friend's home. The attention to detail and care from the staff was beyond anything we could have hoped for. The food, as always, was spectacular. Guests are still raving about the incredible flavors—and as the bride asked for seconds. From the pre-luncheon starters, and the DREAMY pasta to the main courses, every bite was a reminder of why we adore this restaurant. Sharing our favorite dishes with our family and friends was like sharing a piece of our life story. What truly made the day unforgettable, though, was the team at King. They weren’t just serving food; they were a part of our celebration. Their warmth, professionalism, and genuine care for us and our guests made us feel like we were surrounded by family. Our wedding wasn’t just an event—it was a reflection of who we are as a couple. Having it in a place that feels like home made it all the more meaningful. King and all of the wonderful staff, thank you for helping us create memories we’ll treasure forever. Here’s to more celebrations, anniversaries, and date nights at the place where it all began.
