Everything was perfect, from the rustic façade of the DJ booth to the cocktail hour playlist (which sounded like something we would’ve made ourselves) to the incredible reception music. They were honest, familiar with our venue (Toast in Patchogue), and never tried to upsell us. Mike took the time to go over our preferences beforehand, and he just *got it*. The dance floor was packed the entire evening — not a single person left on the first shuttle because no one wanted to stop dancing, not even my 91-year-old grandma who stayed until the very end! We had an initial consultation with him to align on what we're generally looking for, completed a "worksheet" with all the music and MCing details and any specific songs/playlists we wanted played, and then a final meeting to review the day from top to bottom. Marcus was communicative and easy to reach with any questions during this time. On the day of the wedding, he came several hours ahead of time to set up and prepare. During the wedding, Marcus played all the music from guest arrival to reception exactly how we envisioned, and MC'd all of the entrances, first dances, guest photos, etc. exactly on time and without too much fluff, which is what we wanted. Later, he played a great set of 2010s-2020s EDM and hype guest favorites that got the dance floor lit, and with great mixing and transitions too. Highly recommend Marcus if you're looking for a wedding DJ who's very skilled/experienced and just really knows music (not your average wedding DJ)!”
