“If anyone were to ask me what my favorite part of my wedding was I’d have to say “Black Walnut Farm!” What a remarkable experience it has been to work with Sarah, Jim, Lish, Lindsey, and of course, Miss Lilly! My partner and I didn’t even bother viewing another venue because we could instantly feel how special the BWF property was — we called 30 minutes after our tour and said we were ready for the contract and deposit. Even still Black Walnut Farm far exceeded our expectations! Everything about this venue is so thoughtfully curated and managed. There is just so much care and consideration that has gone into every inch of this very special place! My partner and I decided to have a “honeymoon” week during the week of the wedding; we chose to have the extended package where we stayed on the property just the two of us. Unwinding in front of the fireplace while playing chess and drinking wine was such a lovely way to relax the night before. The sunroom is the perfect place for getting ready the morning of the wedding! After our wedding (in lieu of an after party) we just asked to have the hot tub ready for us, which was the best move ever! Most importantly, the BWF team were so kind and patient, cool and collected. In the face of some extreme family drama and chaotic spring weather they always rolled with the punches. I felt that I could trust them fully and always felt safe and cared for. I was not afraid to defer to their expertise in the midst of the chaos, and I do not regret any of those decisions! In fact, the backup rain plan ended up being better than the original plan! Thank you again, Black Walnut Farm. You have created something so very, very special and we will be eternally grateful!”

“Full stop, you need to have your wedding at Bad Seed. Not only is it a stunning location with a perfect mix of indoor and outdoor space (get married/take photos in a literal apple orchard, and party it up inside a modern-with-tons-of-charm taproom) but Devin and his team were incredibly helpful throughout the entire planning process. They answered our questions quickly, and were extremely flexible and helpful the week of our wedding. We were able to bring up boxes earlier in the week, set up the day before our wedding, and had private access to the grounds/taproom on our wedding day. As a queer couple, we also loved that Bad Seed partners with Big Gay Hudson Valley year-round, so we already knew they would be a queer-affirming space and our wedding day was no different. Everyone we spoke to / worked with helped make our wedding a magical experience.”

“Absolutely magical. Getting married at Rushmore Estate was like stepping into a dream. From the moment we arrived at the grand gated entry to our lakeside bonfire after-party, everything was beyond what I ever imagined. The property is stunning, with 50 acres of pure serenity, scenic views, trails, and that private lake? Unreal. The staff was incredible—so helpful, patient, and genuinely dedicated to bringing our vision to life. What really set the experience apart was how thoughtful and accommodating they were from start to finish. Months before the wedding, they helped coordinate an amazing bachelorette weekend for me and my bridesmaids. They arranged airport pickups, planned day trips into the city, and even recommended a walking trail right on the property. The night before the wedding, we had a peaceful slumber party in one of the estate’s suites. No stress, just laughter, wine, and the kind of calm I never thought possible before a wedding. Every single detail, from the day trips to the fire pit after-party, was handled with care. If you're looking for a venue that’s elegant, relaxing, and full of heart, Rushmore Estate is it.”

Every member of the staff went above and beyond, allowing our family to relax and truly enjoy every moment. Our guests are still talking about the wedding—especially the food! But where the venue shines is the day of the event.  Cristie and her team work hard to help make your day happen and it was obvious the effort they put in to make sure your day is exactly the way you want.  They went over and beyond on multiple occasions to accommodate our requests!   I highly recommend having your next event/wedding at drowned lands.”
