“Summit Events was the perfect choice for our wedding entertainment! Having a fun dance floor and awesome music has been something that I have dreamed about forever. I was nervous to find the right fit and was so relieved to have found Summit Events. From the beginning, we ended up working with the DJ who would perform the night of. Chris Funkhouser (who seriously brought the funk!) was amazing to work with! During our consultations he was able to answer all our questions and concerns. He was able to put his swing on things from his experience to help provide the right vibes we were looking for. We pretty much already knew all the songs that we wanted to play so the program they used was perfect! It was detailed in the timing of the night, how long or short to play songs and any other special requests we wanted to have. On the night of the wedding, Chris was a blast -energetic, observant, and focused on keeping the dance floor alive all night long. He even joined us out there, helping to keep the party going strong! He was able to use his best judgement in placing some of the lighting and monogram details we chose which turned out great! “My husband and I used Direct Entertainment for our DJ and videographer for our wedding and we could not be more pleased!! The team was professional, great at communication, very kind and professional, and they helped make our day absolutely perfect! Jeff, our DJ kept the dance floor alive ALL NIGHT!! When the music had to stop at the end of the night, the dance floor was still completely full and no one wanted it to end. He did a great job announcing the events of the night, made sure that our ceremony music was perfect, and he stuck to our wedding playlist with the exception for a couple guest requests (which we were happy to allow). We were so happy and thankful to have Jeff there! Sie, our videographer also did a wonderful job! We have not yet received our video as our wedding was less than 2 weeks ago, but I already know it is going to be amazing. He was so great with communication, was prompt with his timing, and he even set up a second camera for guests to break away and give us well wishes for our marriage, which I'm so excited to watch back. He was very professional and wonderful to work with. We decided to add videography at the last minute because we thought we might regret not having it, and I am SO happy we asked Jim at Direct Entertainment if they had someone available for our day just a month before, and they did!! Jim, the coordinator at Direct Entertainment frequently checked in with us, asked us questions about ourselves, and genuinely made us feel like he cared about us and our special day. He was great to work with leading up to being assigned our designated DJ and videographer, and even after, he checked in to make sure we were happy and that all of the planning was going well. Overall, we would 1000% recommend Direct Entertainment for any wedding entertainment needs! While their communication was a bit delayed leading up to the event, they were ultimately effective in executing on the day-of. The DJ kept the party going all night with a good song selection, though they did play 3 Taylor Swift songs in a row at the start, which we would have preferred more variety. The MC's ad-libs got a little overbearing at times, but overall they did a nice job sticking to the schedule and making important announcements. Every time we asked our guests what they thought of the wedding, they raved about how incredibly fun the dance floor was. From start to finish, Daryle was organized, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with. His deep understanding of mixing music and his uncanny ability to read the room and adjust to the energy were particularly impressive. We also had a few unique requests, like including a drag queen lip sync performance. Daryle coordinated seamlessly with our performer, making it a highlight of the night. He also went above and beyond to ensure our first dances were perfectly timed and elegantly handled. “This is the best wedding DJ!! One of the best decisions we made while planning. James was incredibly organized and detail oriented. The app provided was user friendly and allowed us to select all of the songs for the whole day. “ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! We hired AMP DJ/BAND HYBRID for our wedding and they were one of the best decisions we made. From the start, they were so easy to communicate with, incredibly professional, and genuinely attentive to our family’s needs. They even added last-minute band members with total ease, no stress, just smooth execution. We wanted a big party vibe, and that is exactly what we got. The vocals were phenomenal, the musicianship was outstanding, and the energy they brought was unreal. The perfect blend of music kept the dance floor packed all night, and the band read the room effortlessly. They were also so open to our personal touches, like my dream of having a big group sing-along, and they embraced it with enthusiasm. At the end of the night, they were even flexible and kind enough to stay for one last song, making the finale feel absolutely magical. If you’ve had a good time at a wedding or event in the DC/Maryland/VA area, chances are it was DJ Casanova that got you moving. You know him as DJ Casanova, but around the office, we just call him Jamie. Back in the day, he was just a child of immigrants recording his favorite songs over his parent’s cassette tapes (sorry Mom and Dad) so he could listen to them on his prized Walkman. Jamie entered the DJ field in 2009, and before long he was spinning something at a different party every week. Pretty soon he realized that sharing his love of music with like-minded folks was more than just a hobby, it was a gift.

“Jamie Alberti, aka DJ Casanova, was the BEST DJ we could have possibly chosen for our wedding. He was incredibly helpful in the lead up to the big day and met with us in advance to discuss the details, the vibe we were going for, and the types of music we definitely wanted played on our big day! On the day itself, he had all the tech set up and ready to go for our ceremony, the cocktail hour, and the reception itself - all of which were spread out in different locations across our venue. He definitely got his steps in on our wedding day but he was certainly up to the task. He did a great job with the announcements for the evening and we're so happy that we went with him! Highly recommend!”
