Lost Horizon Cider Mill is a working cidery in a grove of century-old elms and mesquites in Dale, TX. We make our own cider, non-alcoholic rum and vanilla bean seltzer, and pour them at your wedding. Ceremonies happen in our 1960s mid-century modern greenhouse, moved here from Hyde Park, or in the Meadow under string lights, where the fireflies are free of charge. After the vows, guests can head to the Lost & Found Lounge, our hand-built art-deco bar, or up to the stargazing deck above it. The grove has Biergarten tables, sun sails and misters for summer, and a firepit for cooler months. A lot of what other venues outsource, we do ourselves: our floral designer spent nearly a decade at Ben White Florist, and our in-house band, Midnight Mixtape, plays everything from 80s new wave to classic R&B to 60s jazz. Texas Rock House is a labor of love. My grandparents built the house and barns in the 1940's as a working farm for their family. My mother was the youngest of seven children that grew up here. I grew up almost across the street with my mom (Joyce), daddy (Buddy), and brother (Larry). Larry and I spent almost every Friday night here - listening to his records on Grandma's old record player or sitting on the back porch swing counting the number of cars on the trains as they passed by.
