Visit our Availability page on our website, where OPEN DATES are listed!! Yes, see our open dates on our website. We keep this page up to date with "pending" next to any dates that currently have contracts in the works.

Question 4

Is there a deposit? Is there a payment plan?

Accepted Answer

We require a 1/3 of your package (check preferred), signed contract (electronically), and for you to purchase your Event Insurance (here). We give you a week to provide all three to confirm your date. Your date is set to pending during that time. Nine (9) months before the event, 1/3 of the rental package is due. Three months before the event, the last 1/3 of the rental package is due.

How do I reserve a date?

To book a date we will send you a contract to sign electronically, an invoice for your package with installment due dates (1/3 due), and a link to purchase event insurance (also here). We require all three things (contract, 1/3 package, and insurance) to reserve a date.

Do I need to schedule a tour, or can I just stop by?

What is the average budget of a couple getting married at Shiraz Garden?

Accepted Answer

The average budget of a couple getting married at Shiraz Garden is between $18-$30,000+ for all wedding expenses (venue, food, dress, DJ, photographer, etc.). We have had some creative couples with smaller guests lists host lovely weddings in the $12,000-$15,000 range, and we have had several events here spending considerably more than the average.

I see the photos of the Persian rugs are those included?

Do you have an all-inclusive option?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we have partnered with Monarch Weddings, who will give you a stunning all-inclusive wedding at Shiraz Garden, taking away all your stress. The planners and staff at Monarch Weddings are some of the best we have ever worked in the wedding industry. They have you covered!

Question 10

Is there a food and beverage, or guest count minimum?

Accepted Answer

No. Many venues have minimums because they make a 10 - 15% commission from the caterer based on the amount you spend on catering and or drinks (and flowers and all the rest often enough). We choose NOT to make a commission off these services because we want your bar and catering options to be as elegant or affordable as you'd like.

Do we have to utilize your caterers and bar service?

WeTendBar is our exclusive bar-tending service with three exceptions 1) if you choose an all-inclusive package with Monarch Weddings, or 2) your catering can offer bar-tending (still requires pre-approval), 3) and additional mobile bar may be added (pre-approval needed). You can choose your own full-service catering.

Can we bring our own alcohol?

You can supply your alcohol to be served by WeTendBar TABC servers. All alcohol must be behind the bar an hour before the reception and only accessible to the bar staff. See their general cost sheet here.

Will there be another wedding on the same day?

Accepted Answer

At Shiraz Garden, we only host one wedding each day to ensure the couple and their guests have the private and personal experience they are looking for without interruption.

Question 14

How close is Austin Bergstrom International Airport?

Accepted Answer

We are only 17.4 miles away from the airport, meaning your guests don’t have to ever fight Austin traffic on their way to Shiraz Garden or lodging.

Question 15

How many cars will your parking lot accommodate?

Accepted Answer

Our parking lot has 82 posts with six designated handicap spaces, is paved and has a paved walking trail to the reception area (Formal Garden), and part of the path to Sunset Vista is crushed granite.

Question 16

Do you provide table linens, cups, silverware, etc.?

Accepted Answer

We do not provide linens. We encourage you to utilize your rental, floral or caterer for this. "Bride-to-Bride" forms and Facebook Groups are also a great place to get linens. We do not provide cups, silverware, etc.

Question 17

What happens in case of rain?

The Formal Garden and adjacent spaces can be fully or partially tented. In the case of rain, we will provide a refund of 20% of the package price to go towards the rental of a tent with a receipt. We have ten tent options from Monarch Rental ranging from $1000-$4300. See more information and photos of this space + rain plan here.

Question 18

We plan to have our ceremony offsite or only plan to have our ceremony at Shiraz Garden. Does your fee change?

Accepted Answer

Because we only host one event per day, our fee structure remains the same whether you hold your ceremony, reception, or both at Shiraz Garden.

Question 19

Do you allow dogs on-site to play a part in our wedding day?

Accepted Answer

At this time, we do not allow any pets at Shiraz Garden. If this changes we will let all our booked couples know as well as change that information here.

Question 20

What are our catering options at Shiraz Garden?

Accepted Answer

Your catering must be full-service, licensed, and insured, and leave the kitchen as they found it. They also must remove all trash and take it to the dumpster. We highly recommend working with our preferred vendors as they are familiar with the setting and are known for their fantastic quality and service.

What is the pre-approval process for vendors?

Accepted Answer

All vendors will need to send their contact info to us via your Wedding Workspace (here) for us to approve them and have them sign our vendor agreement. Photographers, Caterers, Planners are all required to come out for an in-depth safety walk-through before allowed to work at any Shiraz Garden event.

Do I have to use your preferred vendors?

Accepted Answer

No, however, we have personal experience with these vendors and know they provide exceptional services and are familiar with Shiraz Garden's rules and procedures. All vendors do have to be insured and approved by Shiraz Garden's Director (preferred vendors already have approval). We will send you the full list once you've filled out the tour request form.

Question 23

What time do you suggest we start the ceremony?

You are here for the views! And the sunset, of course, so we recommend having your ceremony 1.5 hrs before sunset (sunset calculator) to give you that glow plus an hour for photos. Your planner/coordinator with the help you get it just perfect!

Question 24

Do I need security?

Accepted Answer

Security officer(s) are required and must be booked with the Bastrop County Police Department (county law); they charge $45 an hour. Details depending on guest count. We will provide you with the form to submit for your event.

Question 25

How will the tables, chairs, etc. be arranged for my sized event?

Accepted Answer

Currently, we do not provide setup, if this changes we will let our booked couples know immediately and update that information here. Our space is so diverse, and every wedding has done it differently. We don't trust ourselves to get it just the way you want it!

Question 26

Can we have fireworks on the property?

Accepted Answer

Fireworks are not permitted other than exit sparklers at the Formal Garden in front of the green gates.

Question 27

Can vehicles be left overnight?

Accepted Answer

Vehicles cannot be left overnight. The gates will be locked at midnight, and as we are also a working ranch, the gates remain locked at other times to keep the cows and horses in! We appreciate your understanding. If you have any guests staying at the Hyatt Lost Pines it is only 5 miles away, Hampton Inns & Suites is 8 miles away, as are other next-door hotels from Shiraz Garden.

Question 28

We are using a rental company. Can they drop items off or pick them up outside of the rental period?

Your rentals must be delivered during your rental period (Friday or Saturday) unless given written permission by Shiraz Garden Director four weeks in advance. If there are no other events, it may be possible to pick up the rentals on Monday.

Is there a PA system, mic?

Accepted Answer

We do not have a PA system, but Sunset Vista (the largest ceremony option) has electrical outlets and water, as do most of the other sites as well. For small events at the Formal Garden there is a built in sound system with phone or laptop plug in behind the bar.

Are candles allowed?

Candles are not allowed; battery operated candles are a good alternative.

What is the event clean-up process?

Accepted Answer

We expect Shiraz Garden to be returned to its state at the start of your rental. If a cleaning team is required, the cleaning fee will be billed to your credit card for the hourly rate of our staff, Lost Pines Maids, or other cleaning company of our choice.

Can we take photos around Shiraz Garden on our wedding day?

Absolutely, this is one of the best parts of Shiraz Garden! A Venue Representative will provide transportation of the couple and photographer via ATV to portrait spots.

Are shuttles and buses allowed?

Accepted Answer

Yes, shuttles and buses are both allowed to pick up and drop off at the parking lot. Pick up and drop off at the Formal Garden is limited to smaller van size vehicles.
