No air conditioning
I attended a wedding over labor day weekend for Kylie and Christian Howard. No AC proved detrimental to what was suppose to be one of the most important days for the bride and groom. They are lucky nothing happened with my 65 year old mother in law and 1 year old toddler who had to leave the event early. The venue was a running sauna for every single person in attendance. The bar shut down with not a single announcement from the venue. When I arrived before “last call”, they agreed to serve me my round of drinks, only to stop the order half way because the manager said no. Wedding cake was also served with no announcement whatsoever and most of it was tossed because the venue decided to end the party 45 mins early. I would not recommend this event under any circumstance and most importantly, I hope the bride and groom get a full or partial refund.
If you want heatstroke, this venue is for you!
I recently attended the Her and Howard wedding at Villa at the Vineyard, and it was by far the most disappointing venue experience I have ever encountered. As someone who regularly collaborates with event coordinators and planners professionally, I found the management severely inadequate. What should have been a beautiful celebration for two people I deeply care about became a series of operational failures from arrival to departure. The family had reserved the venue on a hot August day in Texas, with temperatures reaching the mid-90s. When families and the bridal party arrived at noon, they immediately noticed insufficient air conditioning. The coordinator assured them the cooling system would be fully operational by the ceremony's end at 5:45 PM. This proved entirely false, establishing a pattern of unreliability that defined the entire event. We arrived two hours before the ceremony for final preparations, only to discover ceremony seating hadn't been arranged. Staff dropped chairs near guests during setup, and despite having two full hours, they continued working until the ceremony began, placing reserved signs after guests were already seated. Arranging 300 chairs should not require two hours for a couple who had planned this celebration for months. The understaffed team was clearly unsupported by management. One staff member nearly collapsed from heat exhaustion during setup. Despite an approaching storm, staff kept guests outside during cocktail hour until rain began falling directly on attendees. When weather forced the celebration indoors, dinner setup was incomplete and caused significant delays. The dining hall revealed the most serious problems. Seating was poorly managed, requiring guests to relocate chairs between tables. Three hundred attendees were compressed into roughly 70% of available space using round tables. The venue should have recommended rectangular tables for proper aisle space. While advertising 300-person capacity, the actual dining space could not comfortably accommodate this number. The air conditioning crisis was devastating. With exterior temperatures at 95 degrees, interior conditions likely exceeded 100 degrees. Four of six AC units were non-functional, yet management took no remedial action despite having over five hours to arrange repairs or alternatives. No portable fans, external units, or even door ventilation was provided. When guests repeatedly requested opening doors for air circulation, management refused, claiming it would release existing AC. However, with no operational units, there was no conditioned air to preserve. Guests used dinner plates as fans, which will likely appear in wedding photos. Most egregiously, management blamed the families for the AC failure, claiming food warming or facility usage overloaded electrical panels. This is technically incorrect, as AC units operate on dedicated circuits. This attempt to blame the couple's families was inappropriate and insulting. Guests perspired through formal attire, makeup was ruined, and it's remarkable no one required medical attention. The full extent of the failure only became known through an HVAC technician guest who learned four units were completely inoperative. Despite the venue's aesthetic appeal, these operational failures were comprehensive and inexcusable. I cannot recommend Villa at the Vineyard for any event.
Wonderous European Villa Dream
The team at Villa at the Vineyard was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. Their communication was always prompt, understanding, and easy. The venue was clean, spacious, and beautiful—the perfect backdrop for our special day. When Mitch and I toured the Villa for the first time (even in January), we immediately fell in love with its beauty. It made us so excited to see it in the blooming springtime. This venue is top-tier both in and out of bloom. When other aspects of the wedding needed attention, Amanda and Bryan stepped in to provide additional support, ensuring everything proceeded easily. Having them there was truly comforting, and they made sure our day was everything we had dreamed of. We are so grateful for their professionalism and dedication in helping to make our wedding day so memorable. We truly couldn't recommend Villa at the Vineyard enough, and working with Amanda and Bryan. Villa at the Vineyard now will always have a special place in our hearts .
Gorgeous venue, stellar service
We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Villa at the Vineyard. The space and grounds are gorgeous and Amanda, the venue director, was fantastic to work with. I can't say enough good things about her or the venue! The space itself is beautiful. Even though florals weren't a large part of our budget, I loved the minimal look of the choices we made in the big, beautiful reception hall! The vineyard outside was stunning and made a fantastic photo backdrop. The getting ready areas were comfortable, well-equipped, and well-lit, so we had a great time getting ready with our friends beforehand (and all the getting ready photos in that area were beautiful too). Even the drive out from Austin was beautiful and easy, which was nice for our out of town guests. I especially appreciated the flow encouraged by the event space's layout, with the ceremony area next to the patio where we had our cocktail hour and the dramatic staircase leading to the reception hall. None of the spaces had to be turned over to serve double-duty, which made setup easy and kept our guests flowing between spaces that felt natural. Also, just to rave a little bit -- Amanda was an absolute lifesaver when we had trouble with our original venue, mere months before our wedding date. Amanda and our planner worked magic to make it possible for us to make a smooth last-minute switch to Villa at the Vineyard. Making that change brought our joy back and transformed our event! I'm thankful that the stars aligned so that the space happened to be free on our date (a Thursday) and that Amanda was so on top of things and easy to work with. Between Amanda and our wedding planner, working with Villa at the Vineyard was absolutely effortless. After our experience with the original venue, believe me when I say -- that's not something I take for granted at ALL. While the space itself is new, it comes with Amanda's deep expertise in managing wedding venues and familiarity with local wedding resources, and I consider that a tremendous perk. I loved having our wedding at Villa at the Vineyard and I would choose it again in a heartbeat!
