Anytime I had a question or worry (which I had a few), he was right there with reassurance and quick answers - even when I’d email him late at night, he somehow would respond within minutes! That kind of responsiveness and care meant so much to us, especially in the week leading up to the wedding with things get hectic. He went above and beyond for our rehearsal, helping us run through every detail and setting up mics and speakers so efficiently that everything flowed seamlessly. It gave us such a peace of mind knowing he had everything under control. On the wedding day, Colin handled two complete sound setups - his wireless one for our outdoor ceremony and his main for the reception - and both were absolutely flawless! The sound quality was perfect the entire day; guests could hear every word of our ceremony and every speech crystal clear. There wasn’t a single hiccup. Then came one of the biggest surprises of the night - cold sparks! Colin and my husband had planned them without me knowing, and it was truly one of my favorite parts of the evening. It made our first dance feel straight out of a movie and the photos from that moment are unreal. If anyone is on the fence about adding cold sparks - DO IT! You won’t regret it. The Photo Booth was a huge hit with our guests! Colin recently upgraded with a printer which people were obsessed with being able to take home their photos (a little built in favor). It kept guests entertained all night long and added such a fun, interactive element to our reception. What really stood out though, was how Colin and his wife (who was his wonderful assistant that day) made everything so personal. They were professional yet warm, blending right into the crowd and truly feeling like family celebrating alongside us. Colin kept the energy flowing, a smooth timeline, and the dance floor full all night long. Looking back, we can’t imagine our day without Sound Love. Colin helped make everything easy, stress-free, and so much fun. I include a lot of the most popular item request as part of my normal offering with no upselling or "for an extra fee". I try to keep it simple sweet and most of all I try to take as much of the worry off your plate and put it on mine even for day of wedding task.

“As another vendor, I believe Dallas is clearly passionate about providing an excellent experience for his clients. He took the time to meet with me to walk through the venue prior to the wedding to make sure he was prepared. We had several phone conversations and it was clear he put a lot of thought and effort into the extra little details that could elevate the event for the Bride & Groom. Dallas can be talkative, but I think it's because he's so set on going above and beyond for his clients! During the wedding, he was professional and attentive. The couple wanted to go between dancing and karaoke during the reception and Dallas made it happen while taking requests from the guests. There was a slight issue with the microphone sound during the reception when he would announce certain things (line up for buffet, remember to sign the guest book, etc - this was NOT an issue during speeches), but I feel like it may have been the venue. Overall, I would recommend Raven Blu Entertainment for anyone looking for a DJ!”

However, even after going through the work of submitting a Spotify play list and adding do not play songs or DJ played the wrong version of our first dance song (I checked and we had the correct version listed on our playlist we sent over), he also played songs from our do not play list to the point I, the bride, came over to ask if he had the wrong list. He admitted he was using songs from the do not play list as he was not paying attention. I would also like to note, though our wedding was more casual, our DJ was dressed in a sloppy manner. His shirt was half untucked from his pants, there were stains on his shirt and pants. Besides a few hiccups, direct Entertainment was wonderful to work with!”

Jack Boatman is a Milwaukee native with an extensive background in music. He obtained a B.S. in Music Education from Case Western Reserve University in the spring of 2018. He prides himself on being an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, having played the violin for over 20 years and picked up several other instruments along the way, including guitar, drums, bass, and banjo. Jack has been DJing weddings and school dances since the spring of 2015. He is not only a skilled mixer and request manager, but an engaging MC who can lead any special dances or activities you have in mind.
