People ask me about Moments with Ada Photography. It grew out of an abundant desire to pay tribute to my late great-grandmother. Due to unfortunate circumstances, her life ended quickly and my grandmother grew up knowing very little of her mother. I've always wondered what she was like and what her interests were. Aside from a few photos of her we know very little of her. This is my way of continuing to keep her memory alive, by sharing moments with you it's like I'm sharing them with her. By helping you to capture your special moments, I know that I'm leaving behind a long legacy that my children and grandchildren will be proud of.

I've been in love with the art of photography for as long as I can remember, and I'm truly blessed to be able to pursue my passion every day. Growing up all over the world (Sweden, India, and Denmark to name a few!), my love of photography grew from my desire to capture the places and people I wanted to remember the most. I found my way behind the camera after years of art directing in the fashion industry in NYC. I always loved photography as it captures a moment in time, frozen forever. Taking my knowledge & experience from my fashion days, mixing it with my love for romance, love & art I made the leap to weddings. I photograph film in which I believe that is has a romantic dreamy elegance that only film can capture. I’m based in Honolulu,Hawaii, and I love to travel. Exploring the world to learn about new cultures, meet new people, get lost in a museum and drive the countrysides taking in the sublime sceneries around brings me joy.

When I’m not photographing amazing people, you'll find me hiking in the Hudson Valley with my family, brunching with my girlfriends, or planning my next vacation (mostly likely on a beach somewhere). I'm obsessed with warm weather, family gatherings, and sunsets. When it's chilly out, you'll find me with a hot cocoa in hand. If there's music on, it's likely country or throwback 80s jams. My passion for photography started at a very young age. Polaroid,Kodak, disposable cameras anything I could get my hands on for as long as I can remember. After working for several years in photojournalism and editing I decided to make the switch to a full time wedding photographer in 2010. I haven’t looked back since. I love the rush and excitement of the wedding day. The ability to meet new people and travel new places. Every weekend I get to experience different families, friends, foods and cultures. It’s not a job it’s a gift. My gift in return to you is images I pour my heart and soul into.

I’m known for documenting candid moments in a bright and vibrant way. I love capturing and creating narratives from start to finish - being a wedding photographer and videographer is the ultimate storytelling experience, and it’s one of my greatest joys. Weddings feel like home to me. I’ve found that it’s hard for me to stop smiling throughout the day, and even afterward, during the editing process. I’m into spending all my time at a beach every chance I get, having my nose stuck in a book and if there were no biological consequences, I’d be eating chocolate and drinking tequila all day. I’m half Indian and half Chinese and multilingual (I speak Bahasa, Cantonese, Mandarin and Japanese). I was born and raised in Malaysia, did a little stint in Japan, attended law school and landed New York City.
