Valerie Caviness, NYC native is one of the most diverse photographers with a career spanning over the last 20 years. Valerie started out in editorial photography and branched out to events, commercial and architectural photography. In 2010 she took a position as the head photographer at the NYSE. Her position covered many areas of photography including, photojournalism, events, marketing, and portraiture. In 2017 Valerie branched out on her own to continue working with clients, focusing on corporate events and marketing. In 2020, she shifted her business to Weddings . She now lives in Albany with her husband and 3 children.

I think what sets me apart from other photographers is that I am easy going and with so much experience I think quickly on my feet. I try to keep the day yours and fun. I can work closely with you to get to a timeline that works with your needs, and where you get all the photos you want as well as get to enjoy the day.

    SIMPLY THE BEST!

    Valerie Caviness Photography is priceless! I LOVED being photographed by her! We had a wonderful experience with her. With all the nervousness and excitement, and wedding day craziness, having Valerie as our photographer with her awesome energy helped put my husband and I at ease. Our bridal party and wedding guest enjoyed being photographed by her too. Most importantly, she captured all the joy and special moments of our union beautifully. The sooner the better! Most couples book about a year in advance but I encourage you to reach out as soon as possible about my availability if you are interested. I still have dates available for this year!
The great thing is that I am a small business and when you book with me you get me. I do have a few second shooters that I work with if needed.
Definitely. All final images will be edited for color, saturation, exposure, sharpness and light retouching of formals to ensure they look beautiful.
No, I prefer focusing on photography only, so you can get the best wedding pictures possible. I have a list of videographers that I work with from time to time who may work for you.
I usually send a handful of teasers about a week after your wedding. The rest will be ready 90 days or sooner after your wedding. Typically depending on when you wedding is you may get them sooner. Earlier in the season you may even be able to view your photos online about 4-6 weeks after your wedding.
You can expect about 60 to 70 images per hour of photographing. I like to think quality over quantity. I often end up delivering more but keep in mind this estimate varies depending on your wedding package, number of guests, venue type, and other factors.
I do! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and I’ll send that over to them.
In my 20 years of experience as a wedding photographer, I’ve never cancelled a booking. In the very rare event that I’m unable to photograph your wedding, I’ll make sure you’re covered by one of my colleagues or my contracted assistant.
