My work is a delicate dance between photojournalistic candor and artistic sophistication. Each detail and movement is intentional and calculated. Having documented over 300 weddings in the past 13 years, I anticipate the moment, and know where I need to be to capture it in a stylish, yet unguarded way. I care about your memories as much as I care about the experience you get while working with me and I know when to be invisible and when to take a directing role.

Drawing on her background in Renaissance & Baroque painting, Melani sees your day through a lens of compositional integrity, emotive lighting, and honesty, to produce truly unique images. Description

The basic collection price begins at $6500 and includes up to 10 hours of coverage by Melani, a lighting assistant, a second photographer, an edited, categorized online image gallery, a download link of your collection of unlimited captures, extensive pre & post work, such as timeline assistance, location scouting, magazine submissions, continuous communication with your wedding team & printable resolution jpgs. Most couples add heirloom albums & rehearsal dinner coverage.

All weddings are photographed with passion, honesty and attention to detail no matter the size or destination. Collections are customized to reflect each unique wedding celebration, needs and aesthetic cues and our starting package is created to give you the best possible experience with the highest quality photographs.
I will arrive to photograph the bride getting ready with my lighting assistant, who will stay with me through the beginning of the reception. An associate photographer will arrive to document the groom's preparations and then leave after the parent's dances or cake cutting. I love working with my associate photographers, they offer a different perspective that will complete your collection.
All of your images receive personal attention and editing, they are color corrected (converted to black &white in some cases), contrast & tone is perfected, & images are cropped if necessary. All test shots, closed eyes, unflattering shots, etc., are discarded. We only retouch the images that are going into your album, and this is included in the album fee.
I shoot in an honest, emotional, fresh, yet glamorous style, that will be as relevant today as it will be fifty years from now with the understanding that your wedding photography collection is not just about the bride & groom, but the entire family. I am acclaimed for creating an honest, documentary style that captures moments full of personality, with gorgeous lighting & artistic composition.
We love destination weddings! We have covered events in India, Cuba, Jamaica, California, Washington DC & Florida, to name a few. Multi day events are one of our specialties. We have current passports and Melani is proficient in Spanish and French & her associates are fluent in Polish and Bulgarian.
I am constantly moving and hunting for the best moments, most guests won't know I'm there and I'm known for being invisible and completely unobtrusive. The only time I am not ninja like is when I have to work with a videographer that doesn't have years of wedding experience. These videographers often stand in front of the couple during the main moments. I'm happy to recommend a few great ones!
You will receive a full set of printable jpgs. MLP will retain the copyright to every image. Your contract licenses you to print the high resolution files for personal use. "License" is different from "Copyright." What it means basically is that, while you have the right to make reproductions for personal use, you do not have the right to sell or transfer the images to a third party.
I LOVE elopements and am thrilled to have the opportunity to document more of them now that governments are limiting wedding guest counts. My coverage maintains social distance - I have always been photographing with a long lens so this is natural to me. I look forward to hearing about your elopement, I am local to Westchester and Fairfield Counties.
