About Dear Heart Film + Portraits
Shelby Hunter
I created Dear Heart Film + Portraits in college when I realized just how much I love photographing other people. It started with fun-loving seniors and now has developed into capturing adventurous couples who are so unashamedly in love.
From the day we sign our contract, we're a team and I'll be there for you with whatever you need. I help with creating your timeline, providing location and outfit guidance for your engagement shoot, and answering any questions you have along the way.

Exception wedding photography!
Working with Shelby was a joy! We had never been photographed professionally before our engagement shoot with her, and she made us feel completely at ease. She gave helpful ideas about how to stand/pose but without ever making it feel too overly posed. She is organized, responsive, and punctual, and got all the photos we wanted at our wedding, even when dealing with a large group of family. She is also just a joy to talk to and made our photo shoots so much fun! We’re so grateful to have found her!

The absolute best!
I cannot recommend Dear Heart Films enough!! From the engagement session, to timeline planning, to the wedding itself, Shelby and her team (Casey and Amanda) were amazing through and through. She is extremely detail oriented and had us fill out questionnaires to make sure that she was capturing our vision the way we wanted and she completely blew us away with her photos! She was also extremely flexible with us-- we decided two weeks before the wedding that we wanted our ceremony filmed too and she was able to accommodate us without any issues. One thing that I really love about her work is that you can see and feel the love and joy in the photos. I've looked at our wedding sneak peek album every single day since she sent it to us, and we are so excited to get the full album. Book her! You won't regret it! The Best Photographer!
We truly cannot say enough incredible things about Shelby! From the very beginning, she went above and beyond anything we could have imagined. From our engagement shoot to our wedding day- she captured all the important moments and little details. Our wedding day was a beautiful snowy winter wonderland, and Shelby handled it like an absolute pro. Not only did she embrace the snowy weather, but she made it feel magical. She captured the most stunning shots in the middle of it all. The way she used the snow made our photos look straight out of a fairytale. Beyond her incredible talent, Shelby was organized, supportive, and genuinely invested in making our day perfect. She helped keep everything running smoothly and made us feel completely comfortable in front of the camera. When we received our sneak peeks, we were blown away. We love each and every picture and look at the album literally everyday. We are recommending Shelby to everyone we know. If you’re considering Shelby for your wedding, do it! Five stars truly aren’t enough.

We absolutely loved having Shelby as our wedding photographer! She is super genuine and easy to be around, so even if you’re feeling camera shy she’ll find a way to get the shot. We were impressed with her directions too, especially in the big family photos, where she made sure everyone was looking at the camera and had their hands strategically placed. Also how did she remember everyone’s names? This girl is good!

Shelby (Dear Heart Film Portraits) was an absolute joy to work with for our wedding. From the very first interaction, we were struck by her friendly, personable, and fun personality. Shelby's sweet, calming nature was so amazing in helping my husband and I feel relaxed and present on our wedding day. Weddings can be chaotic, but Shelby brought an energy that slowed everything down and made taking photos fun and easy. She even went above and beyond to help the groomsmen with their boutonnieres when no one else knew how. Shelby is truly a wonderful, talented person, and her work is simply stunning, she captured our special day in the most beautiful way. All of our guests loved her too, they kept telling us how impressed they were with her.
