Originally a cow and poultry farm, the previous owners had run the property as a winery before Rick purchased it in May of 2017. Worsell Manor has an incredible history and a new life thanks to the loving restoration by its current owners. The manor was originally owned by Christian Hershey, of the chocolate family, who built the house in the 1700s. During the 18th century, it served as a tavern on the Conestoga wagon trade. In the mid-19th century it became an inn and hosted numerous travelers. Purchased by James Hale & Louise McClure Steinman in 1927, it was fully renovated and restored in 1930 by architect Frank J. Everts. Among the venue’s many visitors was the great-nephew of Edgar Allan Poe.
