Exchange vows in a magical outdoor ceremony set among the pines. Or, say "I do," in a romantic indoor ceremony held in our beautiful, light-filled Hacienda, or rustic Thunderbird Lodge. Both venues feature large windows and covered porches and patios that bring the beauty of the outdoors in. Only 20 minutes from Baltimore, and an hour from D.C., Puh’tok is in Monkton in Baltimore County, MD. Gunpowder Falls State Park borders Puh’tok’s 67 wooded acres.

    Perfect Spot for a Full Weekend Affair

    We booked the camp for the weekend and had events Friday night - Sunday morning. There are multiple spaces you can use for meals and activities, which was great. We were able to use the Hacienda for all the non-reception meals and the Thunderbird Lodge for the reception. We had camp activities like zipline and archery on Saturday and had the pool open. The Trading Post was perfect for cocktail hour and there's a perfect spot for the ceremony among the trees right next to it. We had a campfire outside the Lodge during the reception and used the Council Ring for an afterparty bonfire. The camp has tables and chairs at both the Hacienda and Thunderbird Lodge and plenty of picnic tables around the rest of the property. Other than that, it's pretty much a full DIY venue. We had to set up and break down all the tables and chairs in both spaces. We used different vendors for every meal. The camp has heavy plastic plates and cups and lots of plain silverware, which can be used but then needs to be washed. We rented table linens and glassware for the reception and used disposable plates. There's a full catering kitchen so you could potentially bring someone in to cook for the weekend. It was definitely a very campy vibe. We got rave reviews from guests. They loved just walking around the property and being in nature. We had about 50 guests stay on site. The cabins have electricity, heat/ac, and indoor bathrooms. We even had a couple guests tent! We rented bed linens for everyone staying on site. The set up and clean up was a lot of work and we were incredibly fortunate to have our friends and family pitch in a ton. It would not have been possible without a lot of help, but if you're down with the camp vibe and you've got a good community, then you can absolutely pull off a stellar wedding weekend at Puh'tok.

    Excellent Venue for Camp Wedding!

    We had an amazing time at Camp Puh'Tok for our wedding weekend! We booked for a full weekend and invited friends to stay multiple nights to celebrate with us. We used so many different areas of camp for activities, and the venue offered lots of space both to spread out and to gather. The night before our wedding, a huge storm swept through and knocked out the power and water to the venue. It could have been a disaster, but Elizabeth and Alexi brought us bottled water and located generators and portable bathrooms for the wedding day. We made the most of it and still got to use the zipline and pool and had an incredible reception in the dining hall. I was so grateful for their help, and so glad we chose Puh'Tok!
