    Beautiful!

This venue is beautiful and unique, and didn't need too much decoration because the place is so lovely. The grounds are also beautiful, and have lots of little pockets of visual interest with staircases, windmills, stained glass, nooks and crannies for photo ops, and more! The staff was generally very helpful, but we did have an unpleasant experience with someone named Dawn, who was very rude to my family. She was standoffish and told off my brother in law when we arrived for our rehearsal and we had asked the grounds staff if we could be let in; she seemed exasperated and did not appear to be expecting us and was unnecessarily flustered toward us, as we were on time for our rehearsal and were accommodated easily by the other staff. All other staff were helpful, accommodating, and flexible. However, please do not let this affect your overall impression of the venue, as we certainly didn't.

    Beautiful Venue, Subpar Communication

The Cloisters Castle in Maryland has a lot of potential, but our experience with them was rather disappointing. Their communication was very poor. They were often forgetful to respond to our emails and phone calls, and when they did get back to us, it was usually untimely & a partial answer to whatever we were emailing about. We also had an issue with trying to get payment to them & finding out that they had a stop placed on their mail for 3 weeks and no one had noticed. I ended up having to take time off work to physically drop a cashier's check off to the venue, to walk in and see the check we mailed sitting on their desk. About a month prior to our wedding, management had forgotten that we'd already sent her our proof of event insurance & that she'd already confirmed a rehearsal date with us (which we had already sent out to our officiant/wedding party). The venue itself is quite beautiful, with a lovely aesthetic, but the maintenance seems to be lacking. We noticed things like dusty surfaces, plants growing through the windows, and other signs that upkeep is not a top priority. Overall, the value was decent for the money, but we expected a higher level of service and attention to detail from a venue of this caliber. If you book with The Cloisters Castle, be prepared to be proactive in your communications and to overlook some minor issues with the venue's condition.

    Fairytale Wedding at Cloisters Castle

The Cloisters Castle in Maryland was the perfect venue for our wedding. The staff was experienced, knowledgeable, though a bit slow to respond at times. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful, with a historic and affordable feel that made it a unique and memorable location for our special day. The castle and grounds were gorgeous, reminding us of Hogwarts in the winter when it was snowing, and feeling like a spooky haunted mansion during our walkthrough on a stormy summer day. The indoor/outdoor flow was great, and while there is no AC, the fans we rented for the patio kept us comfortable on the summer solstice. The team at Cloisters Castle allowed us early access to drop off our decor, which was a huge help. They also host open houses with fantastic vendors, some of which offer discounts. We couldn't have asked for a better venue to celebrate our wedding.

    Beautiful Venue

The Cloisters Castle in Maryland was a beautiful venue for our wedding, with a classy and elegant style. While their communication style could have been improved, as we had to follow up multiple times to get responses, the team did a great job tending to the details on the day of the event. They provided a gorgeous space, kept the indoor fireplaces lit and cozy, and ensured our guests' needs were taken care of throughout the celebration. Overall, we were very happy with the quality and value of The Cloisters Castle, and would recommend it to other couples looking for a one-of-a-kind wedding venue.

    Almost Perfect

When we came to tour the Cloisters, we knew it was exactly where we wanted to have it. The building itself is amazing, and was exactly what we wanted for the vibe of our wedding. The management was a bit hard to work with, and it was a challenge to work around their assigned schedule. We were only allowed 5 event hours, and 3 hours for setup, and another hour for cleanup. It'd have been much better to get another few hours through the day.

Good Afternoon Wyatt and Chloe; I am sorry you felt we were "a bit hard" to work with. Were the challenges as a result of the 10 hour contract or did you have other concerns? Let us know your challenges, If it is something we can correct for the next event, I would like to do so. Thank You Annie
