I was originally anti-hotel wedding. "How boring, how cookie cutter," I thought. Then I toured OPH on a whim once I realized I was priced out of my dream Boston venues - I was pleasantly surprised. Though renovations had not taken place yet, I could see what a historic, old-school Boston charm the place had. The pricing was also extremely reasonable by Boston standards (though I don't know how much they've changed since I booked in summer 2024) and included so much - dinner, open bar, cake, etc. I would be remiss if I didn't compliment Julie (who had since moved on) who really sealed the deal - her warm and friendly demeanor made it easy to imagine working with her. All of the other banquet and events staff I worked with (Latchman, Marshall, etc.) were equally lovely. OPH events staff really go above and beyond, they manage your event from start to finish, set up decor, and are super friendly and communicative. From what I understand, most venue coordinators are simply there to unlock the doors and make sure the food goes out, but the folks at OPH make it possible to have no or limited day-of coordination services from an outside vendor. The renovations have made this hotel and its event spaces even more beautiful, without over-modernizing. It still feels old-school, but just brighter and well-taken care of. The food was incredible (guests were raving), and while that wasn't a priority for me, it was a wonderful bonus. The city views from the ballroom are incredible. Only minor inconveniences to keep in mind: the hotel is OLD - so the freight elevator is small (some vendors had difficulty loading in/out), the wiring is finicky (the electricity in our suite went out a few times while getting ready, though it was restored quickly), and the fire codes are fairly strict (no taper candles, even with hurricane glasses). For me, these were hardly even issues, but it may be good to know. I can't say enough good things about OPH, I think it's a really underrated and lesser-known venue that people who want a downtown Boston wedding should consider!

If I could leave 10 stars I would. Very clear and consistent communication from Rob. The venue had incredible flexibility for all the things we were hoping to do and made it happen. Shout out to Pat for running to Staples for a wire we needed to make the video for our entrance happen. Such dedication and genuine interactions from every single person we interacted with, beginning to end. I could not have dreamed of a better venue for our wedding than the Langham Hotel. Fabrina Guzman is so kind, professional, and truly a pleasure to work with. She is amazing at what she does and helped us plan to the very last detail. She constantly made herself available, checked in on planning progress, and ensured all our questions were answered. In the weeks leading up to our wedding date, she coordinated well with my other vendors and really help to alleviate stress by taking a lot off my plate. There was a chance of rain on our wedding day and the night before, she even organized getting us an umbrella that would look nice in photos and had it ready for us in our room. Her attention to detail and thoughtfulness is unmatched! The service at our reception was truly 5 star quality. My husband and I were so impressed with the food and beverage service that we are still talking about it weeks later! Many of our guests shared this with us as well. To top it off, the room where we stayed was beautiful and the staff even left a few surprises in our room which really made us feel special. We are so thrilled that we chose the Langham Hotel for our wedding and we can’t wait for many more stays with this exceptional group!

The City Winery team was amazing at doing all the set up. They are pros! From reception tables to ceremony chairs. Their sound system is amazing for a DJ and contributed to the reason that our dance floor was packed for three hours straight. Having a 180 person wedding was great for this venue, as we were able to use the dining area, bar area for cocktail hour, and concert venue for the reception. From start to finish (and beyond), the staff at Hampshire House were incredible to work with. The Director of Sales, Michele Giacomozzi, was patient, knowledgeable, communicative, and helped us to create the wedding of our dreams! The day-of staff (Bartenders, waiters, kitchen, etc.) were all attentive and made the day effortless for my husband and me. Besides the staff, I appreciated how transparent Hampshire House was throughout the process - whether it be about pricing, chair upgrades or kids' meals, they made it easy to budget and understand what was included. The venue itself was perfection - we absolutely fell in love with the 2nd floor library space when we visited and seeing it on the wedding day was so magical! The library exuded elegance and gave our night a cozy, intimate feel - all our guests loved it and felt it was so perfectly us. The long rectangle tables were great for conversation and left plenty of space for a dance party! Hampshire House is classic & quintessentially Boston; I can't recommend the space enough! Lastly, but certainly not least, the food at Hampshire House was stellar! Our tasting was so fun, Michele and her team walked us through the whole process and were so patient with us. The food on the day of was incredible and the guests could not stop raving about it! The Baby Lamb Chops in particular were a favorite as were the entrees (Grilled Beef Tenderloin, Lemon Thyme Chicken Breast, and Wild Mushroom Ravioli) and specialty drinks (Paper Plane & Pomegranate Paloma). They genuinely cared about making our day special - And the food was incredible! (This is the main reason we chose a restaurant as our venue!) We chose the Fireplace Room and it was cozy and perfect for our group. We used the same space for both the ceremony and dinner, and it was great because it made everything so easy for us and our guests. Food wise, they had a great variety and even accommodated several dietary preferences without missing a beat. If you’re looking for a venue that’s intimate, stress-free, and serves amazing food, I can’t recommend The Banks enough. They truly helped make our wedding unforgettable.

  • Has a dance floor for celebration

Venue considerations

  • Not for you if you are looking for something nontraditional
  • No on-premises lodging options
  • Best for events with big guest lists
We loved having our wedding at Artists. It as a great space to hold our 240 guests comfortably with different spaces for different parts of the wedding and a great vibe! We also loved using a space that supports a non-profit organization. A few things to be aware of when choosing Artists: 1. You have to use the exclusive caterer so while the space is inexpensive, the catering might be much more expensive than expected. 2. They only had one person from Artists on site during the wedding, which meant that the bathrooms were sort of gross throughout and no one was there to keep them clean. Otherwise, we loved it!

We couldn't be more happy with our choice to have our wedding ceremony and reception last weekend at CMAC! Adria was very communicative pre-event and easily adjusted our contract when we had to delay our date by one year. She also let us drop stuff off decorations the night before and pick things up the following Monday which was very helpful logistically. M ran our sound and lights and they were very organized and willing to work with us on running a playlist rather than using a DJ. We lucked out with beautiful weather and had our ceremony at the park outdoors but CMAC is really appealing because there's a good option for an indoor ceremony if it rains. The venue overall is absolutely stunning and our guests were raving about how beautiful the historic ballroom was. Great value for the Boston area and a perfect spot for a city wedding, with the airport and many hotels nearby.

Batifol was the perfect venue for our wedding of 100 guests. From the start, Desmond and Kelly were wonderful to work with - they were flexible, communicative, and receptive to our vision. The setup and layout of the space was ideal, and their team provided amazing and prompt service throughout the day. The food and drinks were delicious, and they were incredibly accommodating with the drop off and pick up of our decor, as well as very helpful with the setup. We were able to have our ceremony in their bakery space which worked out beautifully, then everyone flowed out onto the patio for cocktail hour, and then into the restaurant for dinner & reception—the setup was perfect and everyone raved about how great to atmosphere was. Batifol ensured our special day went off without a hitch, and we are so grateful for their hard work and hospitality.

We visited the Hyatt Place Boston / Seaport District 12th floor space with nearly 360 views of the seaport/waterfront and immediately knew we wanted not only our room block but ceremony here. From the moment we booked our ceremony, Julie and her team were thoughtful, accommodating, and genuinely excited to host our special day. The waterfront venue was bright and offered a seamless indoor-outdoor flow, which was perfect for our 140 guests. As one of the first large ceremonies at this new location, our vision was carried out exactly and it exceeded all of our expectations. Julie offered such great ideas to transform the space into the wedding we wanted. We were able to comfortably fit 100 chairs in the ceremony space, with a few guests standing, and the large outdoor patio was the perfect spot for our cocktail hour featuring passed drinks and light food. There was storage space for our decor throughout the weekend and Julie always had a solution to any logistical questions. Despite it being a busy concert Saturday at the pavilion across the street, we were able to easily get our guests onto a large shuttle to travel to and from the reception space in South Boston. We were able to do our first look in the outside space attached to the Hyatt as well as our Formal photos. In terms of accommodations, the rate was incredibly reasonable for an August wedding weekend directly on the Seaport waterfront. The space is incredibly clean and updated, and our guests loved all of the outside space and beautiful continental breakfast. The Hyatt Place team went above and beyond to make our wedding day truly unforgettable.

The Colonnade was our venue for our September 2025 wedding reception. The entire team was so attentive, responsive, adaptable, and friendly - from the planning process, to our check-in experience, to the servers and bartenders in the Huntington ballroom throughout the event. Our hotel block was easy to plan and all our guests really enjoyed their stays, commenting how everything was top-notch. I cannot give enough thanks to Geena, she was with us every step of the way and helped us navigate planning such a large and meaningful event. She ensured every detail was remembered, was so attentive throughout the year leading up to the big day, and was a true joy to work with - for us and our team of vendors. She helped us and all of our guests feel welcome the entire weekend. Wedding planning is a big task to take on but it was great to not have to worry about many details because I knew I could count on Geena! Chef Nick was wonderful to work with from presenting our tasting and sharing stories behind his delicious recipes, allowing us to use the Rooftop Pool for our first look photos, working with us to customize our menu and dessert table, and stopping by during our meal to make sure everything was how we wanted and more. The food and service was simply outstanding and the Huntington Ballroom was a beautiful and elegant space. I cannot recommend hosting your wedding at The Colonnade more - the level of care we received from the initial inquiry to the day we checked out was unmatched.

Built in 1887 and a historic Boston landmark, the venue is named after Captain S. Dillon, who was stationed here from 1920-1950. Like its namesake, Dillon's is known for its warm hospitality, friendly staff, and spirited nightlife. Thanks to its All-American menu, two floors of space to gather, and the best patio in the back bay, Dillon's is a local favorite.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Promotes a party atmosphere
  • Space for a large guest list
  • Provides catering services

Venue considerations

  • Limited cleanup and setup services
  • Dance floor not included
  • Does not provide event staff
We hosted a rehearsal dinner and welcome party at Dillon’s in August. The location was great and the back bar was well sized for our group (20 for dinner and 80 for the party). The events coordinator worked with us to pick a menu and iron out logistics (mostly how to transition from dinner to party, and how much food to order, etc.), and was very transparent on pricing. All in all, the food and drinks were excellent and the atmosphere was lively – exactly what we wanted!

We had our wedding at Woods Hill Pier 4 a few weeks ago. I cannot say enough good things about our experience. I will start with the event coordinator, Hilary. She was awesome! Seriously, if the owners are reading this, she deserves a raise! Months and months of emails and phones calls with Hilary going over every detail of our day with her. She was so helpful and knowledgeable about everything. So professional and prompt with responses and if she didn’t know the answer she would find out and get right back to us. Hilary made our planning easier and I can’t thank her enough. We planned on having our ceremony outside, however, the weather did not allow it. I was very nervous that the turn over from ceremony to reception was going to be a disaster. I was completely wrong. The staff had that restaurant turned over in the blink of an eye. We didn’t want a traditional wedding. We had a quick 15 minute ceremony and no sit down dinner at the reception. We wanted more of a big cocktail party with passed apps and a couple food stations. We wanted our guests to be dancing and mingling more and to be able to eat when they wanted to. The service was outstanding. No one had to wait for a drink and the passed apps made it around to everyone. The food was amazing!  Our guests are still talking about it. The truffle gnocchi was a favorite, as well as the lobster popovers. We also had a raw bar which everyone loved too. We bought out the restaurant for the night, I believe 180 people was the max. Everything was perfect, I highly recommend having any event here. Between the staff, the food, and the location, you cannot go wrong.

Had the best experience having our wedding at Pagu! From start to finish, it was great working with the team, Chris & Amanda! We emailed countless questions leading up to the day and they were always great in getting things answered and problem solving as needed. They have worked on many weddings and it shows why people continue to choose them. We had a wedding of about 60 guests and the space had more than enough room. We were able to utilize the patio space as well to get air when needed and so it was great to be able to spread out so comfortably. They could easily handle a larger wedding though as we originally were looking at higher numbers when we started. While your wedding day is overwhelming and you don't often get time to eat, the team made sure to bring us food on their upstairs balcony where we could hide out after our ceremony to eat and get a little quiet time away from guests. They also made sure to package anything we didn't eat (and the many leftover desserts that I overordered on from an outside source) for us to pick up the next day. We were so grateful for this and the food was still great as leftovers--truly! Their service is truly unmatched and they also are great in handling food restrictions/allergies--guests specifically noted this! They brought out smaller portions for those guests when needed so they still had enough options. We are still getting compliments on the food and drinks as well as atmosphere. We can't wait to celebrate many anniversaries eating dinner here too as the food is what absolutely sold us. We especially enjoyed getting to make our own cocktails which guests also raved about.
