About this venue

For many years, Mamma Maria has built a unique reputation for distinctive and memorable private events. The five dining rooms in our 19th century brick townhouse have hosted receptions for numerous Fortune 500 executives and their companies, as well as many local families. Equally important is the trust placed in Mamma Maria to preside over many special moments in the everyday lives of our guests –a proposal of marriage, or a wedding rehearsal dinner. The most unique feature of Mamma Maria is its residential and historical character. Diners have the option of proceeding down a parlor-level hall to our Rossini and Puccini dining rooms, or else up a winding staircase to the Verde, Piccolo and Terrazza dining rooms. Mamma Maria is really five distinct dining areas -- ranging in size from a one-table private enclave for four, to a large dining room which, along with an adjoining terrace, can accommodate up to 70 diners. Complete buyouts for up to 125 can also be arranged.

We offer luncheons from 1-4 pm weekdays and 12:30 to 3:30 pm on Saturdays. This minimum includes food and beverage. Normally, our rooms range in minimum but this allows you to choose any room for the same minimum.

    Wonderful Rehearsal Dinner Venue

    We hosted our rehearsal dinner for 30 people in one of the private rooms and had a wonderful time. The food is absolutely incredible, but on top of that the restaurant is so charming and the whole staff is very attentive and accommodating. Both our families raved about the evening!

    Best restaurant in the north end

    Foos is delicious, service is top notch and beautiful atmosphere!! For small wedding The patio is my favorite room, plenty of natural light abut they also have a large main room upstairs as well. Also every single cocktail from the bar is excellent!!

20% gratuity, 6% admin fee, 7% tax on top of the minimum.
All our rooms are used both for general dining and private dining. The minimums reflect the revenue typically generated by general dining in any given room. Larger rooms on busy nights have the highest minimums, smaller rooms on slower nights have the lowest. Tax and gratuity and extras (flowers, valet, off premise desserts) are not included in the minimum. In cases where the bill comes up short, the balance will be charged as a room charge.
To secure a private room, we kindly request a contract and deposit (Puccini $500, all other rooms $1000). We also ask that you return your signed contract to us within three days once it is sent. Deposits can be paid by check or credit card. We will send you a receipt for the deposit as confirmation of the terms of the contract. We do not offer holds on rooms without the required deposit.
Deposits are non-refundable. If you need to cancel for any reason, we would be happy to reapply your deposit to another equal or larger event within six months. Forfeited deposits cannot be used for general dining room reservations.

No, we do not allow outside alcohol
We offer valet seven nights a week. The cost is $30 per car. You may choose to add valet to your events or have guests pay individually. If you would like a less expensive option, there are nearby parking lots including 290 Commercial Street and Sergeant’s Wharf Lot also on Commercial Street. While we do not validate for these lots, they can be considerably more reasonable depending on the night. Valet is available with advanced notice for luncheons and a minimum of 10 cars. Valet parking price subject to change.
Yes, the Rossini room is wheelchair accessible. We also have ramps at the side entrances.
