Denizens Brewing Co. was founded in 2013 and has been crafting and distributing our beer around the DC area for the last decade. Built in 2019, our Riverdale Park brewery and taproom features a full-service bar with craft cocktails and mocktails, two semi-private event spaces, and access to our 9,000 square foot production brewery, viewable from the bar through a wall of windows. Our draft list offers up to 20 unique Denizens beer and cider drafts including many of our small batch seasonals only available in the taproom. We can accommodate large groups from 10 -200 guests for a wide range of events in both indoor and outdoor spaces. The Strand is Fish & Fire Food Group’s latest DC effort. As a DC centric hospitality business, The Strand was an attractive opportunity. Nestled in the quiet Deanwood neighborhood, The Strand is housed in an old theater that was built to service the fledgling, but growing motion picture industry. The structure and its unique intimacy were the trend in movie houses. Intentionally built in an African American neighborhood and focused on African American films, from the 1920’s into the 1960’s, The Strand was a vibrant part of the community. Unfortunately, as with many small businesses, it ran into trouble and has sat dormant since that time. Not anymore – FFFG is bringing its penchant for emerging neighborhoods and its hospitality pedigree to the Strand. We are excited to be part of the rich and continuing history of Washington DC!
