My name is Nick and I am a photographer, videographer, and the creator of Life in Focus. I specialize in wedding videography in the Outer Banks, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Maine as well as all over the world. You want your story told with emotion. I am a wedding photographer based out of the Outer Banks, NC. I cover destination weddings and elopements all over the United States. My goal is to not just be another vendor but more like a friend on your big day! I will always be your biggest hype girl but I can also take control and get things done. I have several years of experience in the wedding coordination world as well so you will never find another photographer more in-tune with the flow of a wedding day and all the details that go into making it so special!

Born & raised on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, I've been capturing love stories for over 15 years. I've been married to my high school sweetheart for over 10 years, and raising our two sweet boys on this little sandbar we call home is a dream come true. While we are based on the OBX, we happily serve couples on the Outer Banks and Beyond, and enjoy spending the winter months in Costa Rica.

My business of photography started in 1997 when shooting images for Real Estate Catalogs. From there Mere’s love grew into landscapes, surfing and interesting details of our lives. Studied in California, Costa Rica and Virginia, she often can be found near the sea to enjoy some surf and the spectacular surroundings of coastal life. When I started wedding photography 15 years ago, I wanted to create stunning pictures that showed off my technical skills. Those skills are helpful, but they are no longer the focus of my attention. I have been photographing weddings for 20+ years. My experience ranges from a wedding with 700 guests to an elopement. I asked the burning question, "What do you want to be doing in your career that will blend well in your daily life?" The answer? I started looking and seeing the Outer Banks from a new perspective. I now shoot in locations surrounded my mother nature. I currently help clients define what an Outer Banks experience means to them and then we plan their session accordingly. Elopements + micro weddings, couple's sessions and small business branding are the three areas I offer services.

Working with a good assistant and a radiant bride, the whole process takes on the character of a ballet. We move lightly, quickly, with smiles on our faces, light on our minds, and music in our hearts. We sprint, we squat, we stand on railings, whatever it takes to get the shot. I've been known to get belly-down in the sand, just to get the right angle. One minute you are a fashion photographer; next a photojournalist. A landscape and architectural photographer. You tell a story with details, panoramas, closeups, gestures, and split-second expressions.
