A rooftop ballroom and open-air terrace, The Penthouse Hyde Park offers Art Deco-inspired design with expansive views of the Chicago skyline and Lake Michigan. Sleek, sophisticated, and simple, our venue acts as a blank slate to make your dream event come to life. Whether you’re planning a seated reception for 150 with dinner and dancing or a cocktail-style gala for 200, The Penthouse Hyde Park provides the perfect setting. A Century in the Making The Penthouse Hyde Park, located atop the former Piccadilly Hotel & Theater, offers an air of refined elegance that nods to its 1920’s roots. Our north and east walls feature 20’ arched windows that showcase skyline and lakefront views, unlike anything you’ve ever seen. Intricate crown molding has been restored to its original glory to provide just a touch of character. The space has been outfitted with modern lighting and a sound system to provide guests with a high-end experience they’ll remember for years to come.

Our terrace is a favorite spot for outdoor ceremonies and cocktail hours. The terrace expands along the entire north side of our venue, boasting skyline and lakefront views unlike anywhere else. Enjoy a cool breeze and fantastic natural light during the day while watching awe-inspiring sunsets that fade into an illuminated city night. During the summer, your guests can enjoy the fireworks from Navy Pier and Sox Park during their weekly displays.

The Perfect Venue
My husband and I recently celebrated our 10-year wedding anniversary at The Penthouse Hyde Park, and our experience exceeded every expectation. From our very first inquiry through the conclusion of our event, the entire team was professional, responsive, accommodating, and genuinely invested in helping us create a memorable celebration. Planning an event of this magnitude can be stressful, but the staff made the process seamless and gave us confidence every step of the way. The venue itself is absolutely stunning. The combination of the elegant indoor space and beautiful terrace provided the perfect backdrop for our vow renewal ceremony, dinner, cocktail hour, and cigar experience. Our guests could not stop talking about how beautiful the venue was and how much they enjoyed the atmosphere. What impressed us most was the level of service. Every detail was handled with care, and the staff worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure everything ran smoothly. A gorgeous space with stellar service
We've now used the Penthouse Hyde Park twice for a UChicago graduation celebration and both times it's been superb. From day one, the team was warm and responsive, answering our questions quickly and handling surprises with ease. They greeted us and our guests warmly, making everyone feel welcomed the moment they arrived. The space itself is stunning, with its beautifully restored 1920s charm and classy vintage details. They worked seamlessly with all of our vendors to pull everything together. We'll be back!

Beautiful Venue
The venue is truly amazing. The terrance for our ceremony looked over the Michigan Lake and the City of Chicago Skyline. The indoor area to eat and dance shows a great classy and modern decor. The venue definitely speaks for itself, and does not require much decorations to reflect a beautiful wedding. One downside we experienced was communication. My wife and I were shocked on some of the responses. This was our first time getting married, and some of the communications back to us made it seem like we should know everything about the wedding industry. We also had to repeat multiple emails and communications even though this information was given to another college at the venue.
