  • Unforgettable — for all the wrong reasons

    Amanda claims to “create unforgettable memories,” and she did, but not in a good way. I hired her as our day-of coordinator for our October 4th wedding, and the lack of professionalism was shocking. She showed up to rehearsal without the knowledge of details I’d provided or the initiative to seek clarification, didn’t take charge and our wedding party had to run it. The same problems continued on the wedding day dispute my MOH having a talk with her that morning— ceremony music was mistimed or missed resulting in some walking without music at all. A remembrance piece for my husband’s late father was never displayed, vendors weren’t fed until I intervened, and my bridesmaid had to light all the candles because Amanda said she’d “try” when I asked her to handle it. After spending over a year and a half planning every detail, I shouldn’t have had to worry that my coordinator wasn’t doing her job. I spent my wedding day double checking that tasks were completed because I had lost complete faith in her abilities. Unfortunately, our day was unforgettable — just not the way we hoped.
