Q: Do you take on multiple weddings in a day or weekend?

I only take on one wedding per weekend to ensure couples have my full attention the week of their wedding

Q: Do you offer month-of or day-of coordination?

I offer 3-month coordination. This allows me time to get familiar with the wedding details and meet with your vendor team. This also allows me to ease into coordinating your wedding logistics, and start taking things off your plate, so you have peace of mind entering the last 30 days before the big day.

Q: How many planning team members are on-site for the wedding day?

In addition to myself, I always have at least one planning assistant on-site to help with event execution. An additional assistant can be brought on if needed.

Q: Are you part of a team? Who will we be working with?

You will be working with the owner and lead wedding planner during the planning process, and on-site for the wedding. One of the Birdcage and Blushers planning assistants will also be on-site the day of as well.

Q: How do you meet with couples?

Initial conversations and planning meetings are conducted virtually via Zoom. We'll have opportunities to meet in person for venue tours and walkthroughs, menu tasting, final walkthrough, and wedding rehearsal

Q: Do you also plan other events, like showers or rehearsal dinners?

As an additional service, I can help with planning other wedding events including: welcome party, rehearsal dinner, or post-wedding brunch.

Q: Can you do destination weddings?

I take destination weddings on a case-by-case basis, taking into consideration the location, timing, number of guests, and other details.

Q: How many weddings do you take on per year?

I limit my calendar to no more than 15 weddings per year to be able to provide the best planning experience for couples.

Hi my name is Alyson and I am the owner and lead wedding planner of Birdcage and Blushers Weddings! Birdcage and Blushers is a bespoke wedding planning company that provides personalized and elevated wedding planning support to couples who have high expectations and impeccable taste.

My approach to wedding planning is very personal. I am very intentional about getting to know couples to ensure we're mutually a good fit for each other. I take the time to get to know you both, how you met and fell in love, and why you chose to embark on this journey together. I lead with empathy and transparency and serve as a guide as you navigate the planning process. My goals: to make wedding planning as stress-free as possible, to help you make informed decisions, and help you be present and in the moment on your wedding day.

My husband and I had the pleasure of having Alyson's help with planning our wedding in under 6 months. From our first meeting with her she put us at ease that our vision could come to fruition despite only four months to plan. She listened to our vision and anything we were not sure about she had suggestions that she thought would compliment ideas. For every picture or description we had she listened carefully and then would get back to us with a list of vendors she thought would best be able to carry the task out, she did not just suggest vendors based on their popularity. Any vendor we found on our own she did not just shoot down, she kept an open mind and trusted our opinion on vendors we chose as well. She made planning everything so smooth even the hard decisions and she made the day of the wedding even smoother. If something did go wrong, we still know nothing about it. She was so patient with my family and all their questions. She is amazing, and I do not think the day would have been so successful without her expertise, professionalism, and patience. We thank her so much for making sure our day was special, and looked just like how we imagined it.

I was so happy to have Alyson as my day of coordinator for my wedding last September! From the first meeting, I was really impressed with how buttoned up she was! She handled all of the day of logistics & communication with vendors and had great recs and advice to help bring our vision to life. On the day of, she was ready for anything and everything went so smoothly!! We were able to fully enjoy the day and it was the best!! I couldn't have done it without her & can't recommend her enough!

Alyson served as our day-of coordinator in August of 2024, but she got to work well ahead of our big day. She spent a generous amount of time understanding our vision, our preferences, and our non-negotiables. She was on site with us for venue walkthroughs and established communication with our vendors ahead of time. She also checked in with us regularly to make sure we were on track. She was a bona fide problem solver, including helping our DJ sort out access issues with our venue, ensuring our guests didn’t walk through our aisle before the ceremony, and running across the street at the eleventh hour to buy eyelash glue. She even helped us bustle the wedding dress between the ceremony and reception when we couldn’t figure it out. We are really grateful for everything she did and we highly recommend working with her for your special day.
