Inspired by the likes of Guy Bourdin and Helmut Newton whose works she inhaled early on, Joanna likes to blend traditional imagery with unexpected compositions and negative space, adding her personal, fashion-forward flair to the documentary nature of event photography. After many years of directing models, she is an expert at gently guiding couples on their wedding day, encouraging natural connections and documenting the results. Passed through the anvil of anxiety and adrenaline that is Fashion, Joanna's personality turned out easy-going and her calm presence conceals an ever watchful artistic eye.

    Absolutely wonderful!

    Joanna is an incredibly kind person and a fantastic photographer. Not only are her photographs outstanding, but she also is a true pleasure to work with. We felt so comfortable with her right from the start of our engagement shoot through our wedding reception. She is very generous of her time and was actively involved in the post-wedding process of helping us choose photos for our album (which was difficult because there were so many great ones!). We cannot recommend her more highly!

I photograph for up to 1 1 hours, which is typically enough to capture getting ready all the way up to the cake cutting and beyond. Additional hours may be added.
I'm generally booked about a year in advance, however it happens from time to time to be available for last minute bookings.
You can expect about 900 images if I am the sole photographer and around 1100 images if there are two photographers. Keep in mind this estimate varies depending on your wedding package, number of guests, venue type, and other factors.
If needed, a second photographer can be added (recommended for weddings with over 125 guests). This allows you to customize your desired amount of coverage. I do, however, have an assistant with me at every wedding which enables me to be on my A game on so many levels. Most clients book a second photographer but it's not a requirement.
Yes! My specialty is photographing in iconic New York venues which tend to be very beautiful but also very dark. This requires an additional set of skills and experience with how to best capture the moment in tricky lighting and also to be well versed with flash and off-camera lighting.
