Amy Lawson is a San Francisco based professional makeup & hair artist with over two decades of experience. She has provided her services to brides from intimate City Hall weddings to lavish destination weddings. Amy has travelled across the globe from Las Vegas to Thailand, to create stunning looks for her clients. Her work has been featured in numerous wedding publications. She has worked on celebrities like Neil Patrick Harris and Ali Wong, as well as events like the Golden Globe Awards. Her many years of experience and expertise make her a valuable asset to any special event!

I love the transformative aspect of makeup & hair. I have worked on people of all different races, ethnicities, skin tones, and hair textures. I see the beauty in all of it and believe that everyone deserves to look and feel their absolute best!

Yes. I do destination weddings within the United States as well as international locations. Please inquire directly to receive a brochure with detailed information about my rates & services.
Yes, I have done many City Hall weddings for brides getting married in San Francisco. Please inquire directly for my City Hall makeup & hair rates.
No. There's never an additional charge to bring in more artists to accomodate large bridal parties consisting of bridesmaids, mothers, grandmothers, flower girls, etc. All party size can be accomodated with appropriate notice.
No. I have accomodated services for just 1 bride all the way up to a 20-person bridal party.
I have worked with many brides who live out of state and even out of the country. I have accomdated brides coming iin from Canada, Germany, and even Singapore and have been able to work out the logistics. I try my best to work with my client's schedule as best as possible, (given the distance and short time frames), even if they are on the other side of the world.
I believe in enhancing each client's best features. Makeup shouldn't be used as a "camoflauge", but rather a tool to bring out the beauty that's already there. I think it's a misconception that makeup has to be applied much more heavy and dramatic in person to look good in photos/video. My goal is to make you look amazing in both photos and real life. Have stunning eyes, gorgeous brows, or a beautiful hair texture? My philosophy is to accentuate those amazing features. I would describe my style of makeup and hair as natural and modern, with a romantic touch. I have worked on all different genders skin tones, skin types, and hair textures.

    Amy is the beauty professional I most admire working with, from set-up to beauty session to take-down. I have been a hair and makeup artist in the wedding and film industry for fifteen years. She is an artist keen to bring out her clients' natural beauty with flawless finishes. You won't know you are wearing makeup, and everyone will notice how incredible you look. She uses light touches to enhance your look but can replicate more dramatic looks. Tell Amy what you desire, and she will make that look work for you. In addition to her talents, it is a pleasure to work with Amy. She is well-organized, respectful, empathetic, on-time, and she will put you and your group at ease. I love that she brings her fabulously curated cosmetics of the best brands that will last all day (she's tried them all), which are impeccably clean. Every time I have worked with Amy at a wedding or on a film set, she brings the strongest talent in the industry with her. My favorite memory of working with Amy was styling a bridal party in Napa, California. It was a large group of women from Texas who savored their breakfast tacos while we styled them. Amy's five hand-picked artists transformed each bridesmaid and the bride from bedheads and tired eyes from a party the night before into stunning ladies who looked like they slept well. One bridesmaid left the hotel suite where everyone's hair and makeup were being done right after we showed her the finished look. When the bride asked, 'Where did you go?,' she replied, 'I never looked so good in my whole life and wanted to show my husband.' Her hair was disheveled from a romantic romp with her husband, who also loved her look, and we were happy to freshen her hair.
