The Black Cake Company was founded in 1987 by Angela Price. A native of Barbados, Angela wanted to share the rich cultural heritage surrounding traditional black cake from the Caribbean region across North America. 35 years later, The Black Cake Company is still a mail-order company that ships the best Black Cakes and Rum Cakes worldwide.

Angela Price has spent over 35+ years mastering the art of baking Caribbean cakes. Each cake is baked fresh and packed in a way to maintain its moisture allowing your guest to taste the freshness of each cake.

    Perfect Wedding Favor

    My husband and I had mini black cakes as our wedding favors and we and all the guests loved it! I personally don't like favors that get tucked into a corner and forgotten so this was a great treat for guests to take with them (although I later saw that my aunt ate the cake and kept the box it came in in her display case). The packaging was beautiful and fit well with the wedding decor, as guests took a box (or two) as they left at different times. Also, communication with The Black Cake Company was great. Probably the least stressful of the entire wedding planning process. I highly highly recommend.

The only difference in the black and brown cake is the addition of burnt sugar. This single ingredient changes the brown cake to black. All of the other ingredients are the same in both of our cakes.
