Congratulations on your engagement! Paul Shapiro Music is a boutique music company that customizes its large repertoire to suit the special style and character of your wedding. We work with you to get the vibe right- from elegant beginnings to raucous endings. From a perfect ceremony, great cocktail music, and of course a rockin’ band for your reception! I play sax and flute, and have recorded with Jay-Z, Lou Reed, David Byrne, Queen Latifah, Rufus Wainwright and even Michael Jackson! I've recorded four albums as a leader for John Zorn’s Tzadik Records. My musicians and singers are top flight and we know how to get people dancing.

We start with great swing, Latin and romantic music to get people in the mood. As the party heats up we get into funk, rock, soul and contemporary. Jewish music is one of our specialties, playing simcha music for dancing, klezmer, and Middle Eastern. We also play other ethnic music, as well as classical for ceremonies. I take great care to make sure your first dance and parent's dance is performed well. Sometimes the best song of the night is one that wasn’t planned for. That's why it's great to have a bandleader that can make on-the-spot decisions that take the party to the next level. I always find the sweet spot to get everyone dancing!
