Yes — with a couple of ground rules. For specific songs you want us to learn for the day, just send them at least 7 days ahead so we can give the song the attention it deserves. During the event, requests are welcome from you or your guests, and if it's something we know that fits the moment, we'll work it in. Our catalog spans rock, soul, folk, and pop, so chances are good we've already got what you want.

Yes, both. We play ceremony processionals, cocktail hour, dinner sets, and full reception sets — or any combination. Whether you want background music while guests arrive or full coverage from "I do" through the last dance, we tailor the set to the part of the day.

Neighborhood Kids is Chuck and Chris — a Chicago acoustic duo for weddings and private events. Chuck is from Mass, Chris is from Jersey, but Chicago has been our home a long time. It's where we live and where we play. Chuck came up through the Chicago theater scene before turning back to music. Chris has played the Chicago music scene for years — guitar with The Right Now, nearly 2,000 shows, opening for George Clinton, Fitz & The Tantrums, and Soulive. Two voices, two guitars, and a catalog spanning rock, soul, folk, and pop. We are your Chicago Neighborhood Kids — loose enough for a front-porch hang, tight enough for the first dance.

We're a true acoustic duo, not a backing-track act — every note you hear is two voices and two guitars in the room with you. That means a softer footprint at cocktail hour, intimate ceremony arrangements, and a fuller, more energetic set when the floor is open. We bring our own professional PA and run our own sound, so your venue doesn't need to provide a thing. We coordinate directly with planners and venue staff, show up early, and stay flexible if the timeline shifts. First-dance song you want learned for the day? We'll learn it. Special request? Pros aren't always this fun - but they are
I have played with both Chuck and Chris in several bands, and I've seen them perform in others. I cannot overstate how professional and prepared they are - always. On top of that, they're patient and kind with other musicians, offering guidance and help to make the performance its best. Here's the kicker, though: they're so fun. They pick great songs, they're there to make sure everyone has a good time, and they have an energy during performance that is both laid back and upbeat. It's a delight to work with them because THEY are delightful. And talented. The harmony work from both of them is unmatched, and both can easily move from acoustic to electric without hiccups. I can't believe this duo didn't happen sooner, and I am SO glad it did. Do yourself a favor and book these two.
