Chicago Street Strings (ChiSS - /Shy-S-S/) began in the summer of 2012 as a busking duet, which is how we got our name! Our goal is to provide our clients with the most creative, affordable, & enjoyable music that we can possibly offer. We have a roster of talented professional musicians that can play anything from Bach to the Beatles, from Irish Jigs to Bon Jovi. We specialize in live performance, ceremony music and recording sessions and are available for hire in many different instrumentation combinations for any type of project or event. Hire us for your next one!

We go with the flow! We are very easy going and flexible on the job. We are also very versatile and always willing to accommodate any special requests you may have. We have quite the variety of instrumentation options (more than most!) which sets up apart from other musical groups and we pride ourselves on having a very extensive repertoire list! You'll be sure to find music selections for your wedding or event that are as unique as you!     The saxophone and trombone players were an incredible addition to our wedding and brought so much energy to the celebration. They were extremely talented, professional, and knew exactly how to interact with the DJ and the crowd. Their live performances made the reception feel unique and elevated the entire atmosphere. They kept the dance floor energized, moved throughout the room, and created moments that our guests are still talking about. The combination of the saxophone and trombone sounded amazing and added such a fun, memorable touch to the night. We are so glad we included them in our wedding and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to make their event feel even more exciting and unforgettable!

    I'm an event planner and I coordinated a wedding recently with Chicago Street Strings and Greenline Talent. I would use both Chicago Street Strings and Greenline Talent over and over! Their music director, Hannah & team made my job so easy. Such a pleasure to work with, detail oriented, a very organized. Their questionnaire and online access made it easy for me to fill in the blanks without having to go to the couple to find answers . Zach was a GREAT Dj. He worked closely with me to make sure the timing of the evening flowed and all announcements were properly made. He kept Olympia Fields Country Club rockin all night long! The Trombone and Saxophone players were a HUGE hit! It was an EPIC event and I couldn't thank their team enough for how smooth it all went! Gina, SRE

    We used Chicago Street Strings for our ceremony and cocktail hour. We had a string duet ensemble of a violist and cellist. The music was impeccable and made the event even more special. We booked Chicago Street Strings through Green Line Talent, whom we used for a DJ. Having the contract take care of both DJ, uplighting, and live music was seamless and took away the added stress of having to track down strings on our own. Thank you for making our day fabulous!

We make it easy by having a complete list of songs located on our website - www.chicagostreetstrings.com/songlist. It's organized by genre and type of event to make your music selection process as pain free as possible! The song list can also be e-mailed to you as a spreadsheet or pdf. We are always available to make song recommendations as well. We are here to help guide you in selecting the perfect music for your event.
If you would like a song that you did not find on our repertoire list, we will do our best to find an arrangement of it that currently exists or we are always willing to arrange it for your selected instrumentation at a reasonable extra fee. (Fees are based on song requests).

Our rates for most projects and events are based upon music preparations, time on duty at the event and travel expenses. We need to know all the details about your event first before we can give you a proper quote.
We typically charge extra if a destination is 25+ miles outside of the Chicago-land area. A travel fee of $1 per mile per musician is applied for destinations that are 25+ miles away from the city. ​
Yes, generally we require a small non-refundable deposit fee that goes to the music contractor which is due upon booking and once all parties have signed the contract. Deposit payments are made easiest via electronic methods like Zelle or Venmo.
We accept payment via Venmo, Zelle, Google Pay, or cash on the day of the event.
