    MAGICAL EXPERIENCE

    Skyline strings provided the music for our wedding, and it's hard to put into words how much they added to our day. Every piece they played felt perfectly chosen, and the live violin gave the whole ceremony and reception a magical, romantic atmosphere that recorded music just couldn't have matched. They were professional, easy to work with, and so talented, our guests were still talking about the music days later.     Violin Viola Duet

    Skyline Strings was a fantastic addition to our wedding day. Their communication was always responsive, quick, and professional, making the planning process seamless. The quality of their work was truly luxury-level, with an elegant and elevated sound that elevated our ceremony and reception. They were able to accommodate all of our custom song requests, from the processional to the recessional, ensuring our special day had a personalized musical touch.

Skyline Strings musicians perform on violin and viola. Both instruments are played on the shoulder and create a warm, expressive sound that is perfect for ceremonies and special moments. Our signature ensemble is our violin–viola duet, performed by Tony and Raquel. This pairing creates a full, balanced sound while remaining elegant and intimate for wedding ceremonies and events. For clients who would like a larger ensemble sound, we can also add a cello and/or violin to increase to a trio or quartet. Additional musicians are available for an added fee.
We offer several ensemble options depending on the sound and scale you want for your event. Duet: Violin + Viola — our most popular option, perfect for ceremonies and cocktail hours. Trio: Violin, Viola, and Cello — adds a deeper, richer texture. Quartet: Two Violins, Viola, and Cello — the classic string quartet sound, ideal for larger events. Additional musicians are carefully selected professional performers from our trusted network.
Live music can be included for several moments during a wedding ceremony. Prelude – Performed as guests arrive and are seated before the ceremony begins. Processional – For the entrances of the wedding party and the couple. Ceremony (Optional) – Special selections during moments such as unity ceremonies, candle lighting, or cultural traditions. Recessional – The celebratory music played as the newly married couple exits the ceremony. Postlude – Music played as guests depart following the ceremony. We help guide you through selecting music for each moment so everything flows naturally.
Clients are welcome to select songs from our recommended repertoire list, which includes many popular wedding and event selections. If you have a special song that is not already in our repertoire, we can often learn or arrange it for you. Custom arrangements may require additional preparation time and may include an arrangement fee. We recommend submitting song requests well in advance of your event to allow time for preparation.

Sign the service agreement and pay the non‑refundable retainer. Once the contract is signed and the retainer is received, your date is officially reserved.
Skyline Strings performs throughout the Chicago area and surrounding suburbs. Travel within 50 miles is included in our standard pricing. Events beyond that distance may include a mileage fee, which will be clearly listed on your invoice. If you are unsure whether your venue falls within our travel area, feel free to ask.
Yes, we are happy to perform outdoors when weather conditions are suitable. Because our instruments are sensitive to temperature and moisture, we require: Shade from direct sunlight, protection from rain or excessive wind, temperatures generally above 60°F. If conditions are uncertain, we recommend having an indoor backup location.
Most ceremonies and intimate events do not require amplification, as string instruments project naturally in smaller spaces. For larger venues or outdoor events, we offer optional amplification as an enhancement to ensure the music carries clearly for all guests.
n the rare event that a musician becomes unavailable due to illness, emergency, or unforeseen circumstances, Skyline Strings will secure a qualified replacement musician from our trusted network of professional performers. All replacement musicians are experienced professionals who meet our performance standards, so your event music will proceed smoothly.
Yes. Many couples choose to extend live music beyond the ceremony. Our Extended Experience package includes ceremony plus cocktail hour, creating a seamless musical atmosphere for guests as the celebration continues. Our Complete Performance package will meet the needs of most entire wedding timelines; additional performance time or special moments can also be added as enhancements.
