“If you’re a music nerd with very particular opinions about music, hiring a DJ can feel like a terrifying leap of faith. Scott didn’t just meet my standards, he absolutely exceeded them. I had carefully planned our cocktail and dinner playlist, only to realize in real time that it was completely missing the mood. Scott gently checked in and asked if I wanted to adjust course, and I was SO relieved he did. He saved the mood, the vibe, the whole thing. From there, he expertly read our crowd, using just a handful of song requests guests had submitted with their RSVPs to curate an absolutely perfect night of bangers. Our dance floor was packed basically the entire evening. People weren’t just dancing, they were genuinely feeling the music and having an incredible time. Scott understood our crowd in a way that honestly felt like magic. He was also kind, attentive, and incredibly sensitive to the more personal parts of our wedding, including navigating the fact that our Father-Daughter dance had to be removed from the plans after my father passed away during our wedding planning. He handled those moments with genuine compassion and professionalism. It was clear from start to finish that Scott cared deeply about giving us an exceptional experience. He worked within our budget, brought an enormous amount of expertise to the table, and was worth every single penny. The picture I’m including is at the end of the night after most of the guests had gone home—the bridal party crew & my father-in-law stayed late because we were having such a great time bopping and Scott kept the night going despite the fact that 95% of the guests had gone home. It was one of the funnest parts of the night—we had a blast letting loose on the dance floor and enjoying every last beat right to the end. I would hire Scott again in a heartbeat for any future DJ or emcee role, and I would recommend him without hesitation. I do not put my name behind recommendations lightly, and I can say with complete confidence: hire Scott. He was one of the most integral reasons our wedding evening turned out as spectacularly as it did.”

“If you don't know what DJ to book for your wedding, please look no further! DJ Karizma was the first vendor I booked after the venue because I really valued the experience of the music, reception, and someone that is an amazing MC at getting the guests pumped, hooked and controlling a room for your timeline of events. I can say our guests and other vendors at the venue said this was the one of BEST wedding receptions they've been too because of DJ Karizma. We were literally dancing and screaming the whole time and I never left the dancefloor once reception started. (Still recovering to get my voice back). If you have a type of vibe that you are going for for your wedding, he will listen with all ears and do just that. If I could give 11/10 stars would!! Do you want the wedding playlist to be a reflection of you and your spouse's music choices? Then you want to book Summit Events ASAP. Our wedding DJ was Sean Markland and he was just phenomenal to work with. Prior to our wedding we had a lengthy call with Sean; my husband and I were very picky with our wedding playlist and had a rule of absolutely no traditional wedding reception songs or line-dances. We love electronic dance music (EDM) and wanted our wedding to be "festival/show vibes". We pretty much curated our own playlist of EDM, country, hip-hop, folk and I really wasn't sure how our guests would respond (and we really didn't care because it was our wedding), but the way Sean mixed and transitioned the songs and hyped up the dance floor kept the vibes going all night! We used Summit Events for our up lighting too - highly recommend as it was a great way to turn the room from a classy dinner reception to a dance party in one click! The sound quality was great for both speeches and music; we wanted to make sure guests could hear speeches clearly and we had no issues at all even though it was a large room. I also appreciated the Vibo app that we used to plan out our ceremony, entrances, first dances and our playlist for the night - it was a great tool that kept songs and notes in one place. We would definitely use Sean and Summit Events again and highly recommend them for the best night of your life!”

While their communication was a bit delayed leading up to the event, they were ultimately effective in executing on the day-of. The DJ kept the party going all night with a good song selection, though they did play 3 Taylor Swift songs in a row at the start, which we would have preferred more variety. The MC's ad-libs got a little overbearing at times, but overall they did a nice job sticking to the schedule and making important announcements. “Having a band play our Northern Virginia wedding was very important to us. We found Bachelor Boys on Instagram and relished their vibe from the get-go. They felt more personal than the conglomerates with dozens of band. We watched them perform at a showcase in the Baltimore area and loved how they structured their evening with different pairings of band members and instruments - it helped us make an informed decision about the number of instruments we wanted to include. We were wow-ed by Amber at the showcase, and were thrilled to have her emcee our wedding! Communication with the band was very straightforward. We only had a handful of requests, but otherwise, let them play the sets as they saw fit. Truthfully, I can’t remember them taking many breaks because it felt like they played the whole night! Our guests continue to say how excellent the band was! For the ceremony, the band provided a speaker and a representative to press “play” on our music. We also had a trio perform beautifully at cocktail hour. One fun note: we opted for parent dances, and the band had no issues with my Bruce Springsteen deep cut. The singer even channeled his “Boss” to really sound like Bruce! Our dance floor was full from the start, and we loved the sets they played. We had a blast dancing at our wedding - Highly recommend Bachelor Boys!”

“We had the pleasure of working with DJ Wong from MyDeejay. A quick review of MyDeejay: They were excellent to work with. They paired us with DJ Wong after we filled out a quick survey about the vibe we wanted for our wedding, and it was smooth sailing from there. It's clear from working DJ Wong that MyDeejay vets their DJs very well and ensures they're all professional and great to work with. Now for DJ Wong: He's got all of the main things you want in a vendor--professionalism, responsiveness, expertise, etc.), but he goes well above and beyond those standards. He provided ceremony music, background music, reception music, and uplighting, but that's just the starting point of everything he did for us. We were PICKY and we had A LOT of requests, and he accommodated them all flawlessly and eagerly. We requested he alter versions of some of our selected songs to adjust for timing, blending parts of songs together, and very particular transitions between songs. He made everything sound amazing! We had not 1, not 2, but FIVE choreographed dances throughout the evening, and he executed the timing of everything perfectly. The sound was incredible! In addition to that, because we were completely over-the-top for our wedding, DJ Wong so graciously and excitedly fulfilled our request to have KARAOKE at our reception. It was SO MUCH FUN!!! We had a very particular vibe in mind from our wedding--we wanted our ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner to be classy and jazzy, and then for the reception dancing we wanted a mix of Pop anthems from the past 3 decades--DJ Wong understood the assignment perfectly! We were also at a very large venue and he had to provide sound across many different areas throughout the evening, but he came fully prepared and did an excellent job. We received so many compliments about the ambience for the entire evening, and we attribute that to him! On top of everything else, DJ Wong is an excellent MC and can read a room flawlessly. He kept the vibes up the entire evening, and struck the perfect balance of engaging with the audience and letting the music do the work. We are so grateful we had him for our special day!”
