“Our wedding weekend at Black Walnut Farm was nothing short of extraordinary. I had always dreamed of more than just a single day or a few hours of celebration. I imagined a full weekend surrounded by our favorite people, celebrating a love I had hoped for my entire life. Black Walnut Farm made that dream a reality in the most magical way. My fiancé and I got engaged in June 2024 and waited until August to begin planning so we could savor being engaged. Black Walnut Farm was our first venue visit. During their open house, we explored the property while enjoying signature cocktails and bites, and we immediately felt at home meeting Jim. His warmth, charisma, and genuine spirit set the tone for everything that followed. The estate is breathtaking. Acres of beauty, an enchanting forest, whimsical gardens, and a farmhouse filled with stunning, eclectic antiques. Within minutes, we knew our search was over. As we left, Jim smiled, saying he could tell we had found “the one.” The planning process was seamless and stress-free. As someone who goes with the flow, I was amazed by how organized and supportive the team was. Timelines, documents, and communication were clear and thoughtful. Sarah, co-owner and Jim’s partner, made the experience effortless. While the venue is largely a la carte, Sarah provides a curated list of trusted vendors so you never feel lost. Together, Sarah and Jim are an unmatched team. We chose the weekend package, allowing us and six guests to stay in the farmhouse from Thursday through Monday. Walking in felt like stepping into a dream. We were greeted with a handwritten card, a charcuterie board, and champagne. Fresh banana bread, muffins, and cookies were displayed, the refrigerator stocked with snacks, drinks, and s’mores essentials, and a bar cart held homemade old fashioneds. Every room included robes and fresh water by the bedside, and fireplaces were ready with stacked firewood. Our honeymoon suite was spacious and cozy, with its own fireplace, sitting area, and clawfoot tub. Black Walnut Farm even created a custom flag with our names and named a tree in our honor, a meaningful and unforgettable touch. On Friday evening, we hosted our rehearsal dinner for fifty-five guests in the barn, which perfectly blends rustic elegance with antique details and warmth. The staff’s pride and attention to detail were evident, and Jim, Sarah, or Lindsey were always nearby to ensure everything ran smoothly. After dinner, my bridesmaids and I returned to the farmhouse for a cozy night by the fire watching Father of the Bride. Our wedding day was pure magic. We got ready together in a sun-filled room, sharing laughter and happy tears. We exchanged vows in the forest, a fairytale setting. The celebration continued in the barn with cocktail hour, dinner, dancing, and dessert. Guests loved the barn loft, complete with a photo booth and a phone for leaving messages. Although the weather prevented our planned bonfire hour, Sarah and Jim graciously extended our time in the barn, ensuring the night remained just as special. This weekend was the best experience of our lives. Our friends and family still talk about how incredible it was. We are endlessly grateful to Sarah, Jim, Miss Lily, and the entire Black Walnut Farm team for creating a wedding weekend we will cherish forever.”

“Thank you Blenheim Hill Farm for helping orchestrate an absolutely magical wedding weekend for us. Our wedding was truly a fairytale dream come true. The venue itself is breathtaking. The whole farmland was ours for the weekend. I enjoyed morning runs, evening strolls, outdoor yoga, and quality time with the farm animals. There are so many beautiful spots for photos and spaces to find calm. The ceremony takes place with a pond view in the background. The reception is inside a rustic, inviting barn with plenty of space to dance the night away, which we did! The food is incredible. Everything is plated elegantly, like a Michelin star rated restaurant. Our guests enjoyed everything from the appetizers to the desserts. They are also great at catering to any and all dietary restrictions. We had a fully vegan/vegetarian wedding, and it was delicious even for the meat lovers! The staff is exceptional. We felt so cared for and supported throughout our wedding weekend. There was always someone there to answer our questions, and everything fell into place so smoothly. We truly felt the care that went into every moment, both big and small. Financially, it is an investment, and the small add-ons do add up. But honestly, at the end of the weekend, it all felt so completely worth it. We are so happy we chose to have our wedding at Blenheim Hill Farm. It is a beautiful place full of wonderful humans (and goats!).”

“Bear Mountain Inn was the only venue we toured and booked it immediately for our wedding September 2025. Many reasons made us confident in booking BMI, which includes the sentimental value for us and our guests, the stunning Bear Mountain State Park, the gorgeous Lodge. What really sealed the deal was meeting our amazing coordinator Tracey. I'd like to highlight how incredibly passionate and kind Tracey is as a person. She was super reliable for us to reach and transparent in communications. I thoroughly enjoyed working with her and honestly miss her presence in our lives. I would visit BMI from time to time prior to the wedding and run into Tracey on the grounds, she would always pause to talk to me and catch up. The day of the Wedding, Tracey was on point! She handled the day so well, we didn't even need a day of coordinator! I don't know how she does it all, but I am eternally grateful she was there through it all for us. Now I would like to move onto the BMI itself! Our rehearsal dinner was in the Merry Go Round, I mean it was such a great way to kick off our Wedding Weekend. So magical and pretty. Also guests got to ride the Merry Go Round, which was a top tier memory of ours. We got married in the Perkins Ballroom & Harriman Ballroom in the Main Lodge. The space is so unique. I would tip upcoming couples to consider lighting options because it really does transform the space into anything you desire. Now the food, one word incredible. Highly suggest visiting their restaurant 1915, the chef and team cater the wedding. I could not be happier with how well it all turned out!”

“We recently got married in Peekskill and stayed at the Abbey and had our rehearsal dinner, welcome drinks, and morning after brunch there. The building and the grounds are beautiful. The food was very good and they were able to accommodate our dietary restrictions and guests needs. The rooms were nice, spacious, and very clean. Everyone had positive things to say about the events held at the space. There are two things that bring down this review. The first is that the event/sales staff is very hard to get in touch with. We left countless voicemails and sent many emails that all went unanswered. The turnover of the staff was quite high, and we never knew who we were going to be speaking with. The second major issue was that there is only one elevator and no freight elevator. The morning of our wedding the elevator was out of service. There are only 2 stories to the hotel so that is not the issue, but the wheelchair accessible room, which a guest of ours who is in a wheelchair was given, was on the second floor. Thankfully the elevator was fixed and he was able to make it to our wedding, but in the event of an emergency, we don’t know what would have happened.”
