WELCOME TO SWADLEY STUDIO! Jon & Lori Swadley are a husband & wife photography duo based in Martinsburg, WV, serving Northern Virginia and the DC Metro area. Also, we LOVE to travel and frequently travel to select locations worldwide. Mostly known for their award-winning wedding artistry for the modern bride & groom, they also photograph seniors, newborns & maternity.

I am a natural light photographer, and I love working with couples to create their dream vision for their wedding day! I am right on the outskirts of the Northern Virginia area. This is my 9th year as a photographer, and I love what I do!

Until my oldest came along I only dabbled in film photography, but since moving to digital in 2008 I have been introduced to so many amazing couples, families, new friends and other photographers. Although chasing my kids around and preserving memories of their childhood is of the utmost importance to me, being able to do the same for every family and wedding I’ve been able to photograph is what makes this the most amazing job in the world.

Technically speaking, I’m a photographer, but honestly, since establishing my business in 2014, I would consider myself a teammate through this process. I’ve really enjoyed getting to know couples, their families, their stories, and at the end of the day, becoming a good friend. When I am not behind the camera or editing photos, I enjoy short Uber rides to bottomless brunch on the weekends; right now mimosas and I kinda have a thing going on! I have a special relationship with bourbon and FIRMLY believe in putting food on the grill during late afternoons should be the norm. I am blessed to be married to the happiest person on earth (I am so serious), who just happens to double as my favorite person. She keeps me grounded and never fails to remind me how great she is.

Hi! I'm Nina and I run Ivy & Quartz photography! I shot my first wedding in 2013, but my journey with photography began long before that. When I was about 10 years old, my dad gave me a camera and I quickly became obsessed. My intrigue continued to grow over the years and I went on to earn my BA in Studio Art , Photography, from the University of Virginia. After graduating I worked as a portrait photographer and decided to pursue and earn my MFA in Imaging Arts from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
