While practicing photography at the Visual Arts Center in Portsmouth, VA, I learned how to develop and print photos in a darkroom. This led me to converting one of the rooms in my house into a functioning darkroom, and for many years I developed negatives and made prints for clients and art shows.

After shooting weddings throughout high school, I set my camera down when I went to college. I thought I would go, get a corporate career, and just take gorgeous photos of my kids (currently 2 cats and 2 dogs) one day. Three degrees later, the corporate life was draining.
