My passion for photography grew when my daughter, Lotus, was born in 2004 and I began documenting her childhood with an eye toward catching each irreplaceable moment. Soon, friends and then friends of friends asked me to photograph their children and families. Before long, I was documenting the lives and milestones of people all over the DMV area. I realized how happy I was connecting with people and capturing special moments, and so I launched Lotus Photography in 2012 - named for my first muse. I captured my first wedding in 2016 and I was instantly in love with being a wedding photographer!

I'm a visual enthusiast with a degree in Arts Management. My style is mostly photojournalistic, embracing natural and romantic elements. In each wedding, my aim is to craft something different and unique, capturing a set of storytelling moments that reflect the essence of the day. What truly drives me is the moment when my clients receive the picture, and tell me how they love them. Knowing that my work will be forever cherished by others adds a meaningful layer.

Growing up with a passion for skateboarding provided me with a creative view of the world around me. I've been taking pictures professionally for about 8 years and I'm inspired by the music I listen to and those that I love being creative with. I have also photographed many different subjects, scenes, and moments! There's a picture around every corner.

Hi! I'm Nina and I run Ivy & Quartz photography! I shot my first wedding in 2013, but my journey with photography began long before that. When I was about 10 years old, my dad gave me a camera and I quickly became obsessed. My intrigue continued to grow over the years and I went on to earn my BA in Studio Art , Photography, from the University of Virginia. After graduating I worked as a portrait photographer and decided to pursue and earn my MFA in Imaging Arts from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
