Hi! I’m Trevaughn Smith (he/him), a published queer wedding & portrait photographer based in the DC, Maryland & Virginia area. I’ve made it my life’s work to become a visual storyteller for couples who value authenticity, individuality, and non-traditional love stories. I’m great at blending into the background and capturing honest, unscripted moments – the kind that reflect your real connection. My passion for photography grew when my daughter, Lotus, was born in 2004 and I began documenting her childhood with an eye toward catching each irreplaceable moment. Soon, friends and then friends of friends asked me to photograph their children and families. Before long, I was documenting the lives and milestones of people all over the DMV area. I realized how happy I was connecting with people and capturing special moments, and so I launched Lotus Photography in 2012 - named for my first muse. I captured my first wedding in 2016 and I was instantly in love with being a wedding photographer!

I'm a visual enthusiast with a degree in Arts Management. My style is mostly photojournalistic, embracing natural and romantic elements.
