The ambience was truly magical, the staff was on the ball, and the food was incredible. We looked at quite a few different venues across the state of California (from Piru all the way to Mendocino) and none of the others held a candle to how beautiful this venue is or how kind and helpful Crystal, the general manager, has been. We live in the Bay Area, so we relied heavily on Crystal’s recommendations for local vendors, all of whom were also excellent. The venue has a variety of ceremony sites, depending on your guest count and the vibe you’re going for. All of them are gorgeous. Every guest I talked to was completely blown away by this place. My favorite part of having our wedding here, though, was being able to spend the whole weekend with our wedding party. I feel like weddings are often really rushed affairs, where the people getting married barely get a chance to see even their closest friends and family. The hours surrounding our wedding were still a lot like this, but we also got to have breakfast and lunch and little moments throughout the day with our fiends that otherwise might have been spent driving or worrying about forgetting something at a separate hotel. Also the beds were way more comfortable than any hotel or airbnb bed I’ve stayed in recently. Not to mention the fact that the bridal suite is one of the dreamiest spaces I’ve ever hung out in.

The Vineyards was hands down the best decision we made for our wedding day! The entire team (Shadi, Jimmy, Soroor, Deena) was helpful from the moment we toured the Vineyards to the moment we left on our wedding day. The venue is beautiful, lush, and meticulously decorated. We chose to have our ceremony at the garden site and our reception in the ballroom. Our guests loved the venue and kept raving about the food. We had a very specific music-themed wedding, where we wanted to incorporate little touches of our story, and the venue and team were able to help us execute our vision seamlessly! They were very accommodating when we wanted to enter the venue early for hair and makeup and helped us with our timeline, which made everything on the day-of go smoothly. If we had to do our big day again, we would 100% choose the Vineyards every time! Thank you to the entire team, we are eternally grateful for your support.

The Ojai Retreat & Inn was everything we could have asked for for our wedding in early November!! We rented the whole property for our wedding party and the weekend felt like a dream oasis! Before the wedding, we were able to immerse ourselves in the serenity of the Ojai Retreat by taking a stroll on the nature path. We also enjoyed nearby restaurants (Bonnie Lu's for breakfast and Ca'Marco for our Rehearsal Dinner) that were a short car ride away. We used the living room area and the upstairs library for getting ready spaces and they were well air-conditioned and provided more than enough space for all of us- without the groom seeing the bride, of course. Then during our ceremony and reception, the beauty of the landscape and views made for marvelous photos and memories! It was truly magical and felt like an enchanted fairytale! On top of the beauty of the property, everyone who works at the Ojai Retreat & Inn is so kind and helpful! A special thank you to Dana and Lia for your help and to all the workers who helped move lawn furniture before our rentals needed to unload. They were so flexible with us and worked with us on our many random questions and requests. We can't wait to come back to the Ojai Retreat & Inn for our anniversaries!!

The 1909 stood out among the 15 venues we considered, and we couldn’t be happier with our choice. From the start, we were captivated by the stunning ceremony deck, and during our in-person visit, the venue's unique charm won us over completely. It perfectly embodies the romantic, woodsy vibe we were searching for, with lush greenery that feels worlds away from the busy LA metro area, yet still conveniently close to it—especially for those of us familiar with the Valley. Nestled in the heart of Topanga Canyon, The 1909 offers a serene escape from city life. The venue provides a variety of rental options that seamlessly complement the natural setting, and everything is meticulously maintained. What really impressed us was the rental package—it includes access to the entire event space, from the beautiful ceremony deck and reception lawn to the indoor dance floor and bridal suite. As a first-time wedding planner, I also appreciated The 1909’s transparency with their pricing, which made the planning process much smoother. A special shoutout goes to Cristina, the venue manager. She patiently answered all of our detailed questions and coordinated multiple walkthroughs with us. Her support was instrumental in making our wedding a success, and I can’t thank her enough. If you’re planning a wedding at The 1909 with Cristina, rest assured—you’re in great hands.

Inn of the Seventh Ray

5.0

Topanga, CA
  • Up to 240 guests
  • Select services
  • Outdoor
  • Starts at $5,000

The Inn of the Seventh Ray offers a storybook setting nestled in the canyon, surrounded by grand old sycamores, waterfalls and a flowing creek. Perfect for any celebration, the Inn features rich gardens and a beautifully romantic atmosphere whether you are here to say I do or gather with friends and family to celebrate a joyous occasion. Our menu offers market fresh, California cuisine inspired by the seasons and sourced through local organic and naturally raised ingredients. Considered LA’s most romantic restaurant, we offer a venue unlike any other in the Los Angeles area. The Inn is made up of multiple semi-private outdoor areas and two indoor dining rooms and can be combined to accommodate up to 250 wedding guests.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Space for a large guest list
  • Full catering menu to choose from
  • Lush gardens

Venue considerations

  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • No in-house lighting and sound packages available
  • Large venue, not ideal for small guest lists
The Inn of the Seventh Ray was a stunning and gorgeous venue. We were looking for something outdoorsy (without being in the forest), romantic (gorgeous twinkle lights everywhere), and flexible (they accommodated every need from layout to late night snack). Every concern I worried about, turned out to be nothing at all, making it the greatest venue. If you like what you see, it is 10,000% worth it to work with Holly. Holly, the coordinator, knows what she is doing and what works best for guests. She listened to my wild ideas and hopes, and made them work seamlessly. People said, "something will inevitably go wrong on your wedding day." Nothing went wrong, and we credit Holly for that. As the brides, we never felt rushed, or overwhelmed. We were so taken care of. She was so organized and made sure we were having a great time by checking in throughout the night. Concerns I had about the venue: 1) nature (the ground would be uneven for my grandparents). They were fine. 2) Not enough bathrooms (no body cared, we danced in line) 3). It seems small. Yes, it is intimate but honestly, it was the perfect size, no body was wandering or lost, the space felt filled which made it more fun and you didn't miss a detail. 4). No hard alcohol mixed drinks. This worried me because I don't love beer and wine, but it was best because no one got crazy, obnoxious, or over intoxicated. 5) It stayed open to the public so other people would be there. AND IT WAS AWESOME! Everyone complimented us and it made us feel even more special to be recognized. I love that it is a restaurant so we can return on our anniversary for years to follow. It will always get to be a special place in our hearts.

Hart & Main

5.0

Santa Clarita, CA
  • Up to 120 guests
  • Select services
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $6,500

Hello! We are Hart & Main. Hart & Main is a one-of-a-kind wedding and event venue opening in Spring of 2022 with indoor and outdoor options to fit any occasion. This space is well equipped with a full commercial kitchen and bar, a beautiful rooftop deck, bridal and groom suites and will feature a Mid-century vibe. The owners, Rob and Lisa Younkin, purchased an old, family-owned auto repair shop in March of 2018, intending to build a small apartment complex, only to find out that idea did not work well with the lot size. So they decided to put their heads together, and the idea of a wedding and event venue took off. From there comes Hart & Main. The vision for Hart & Main is to create a purpose-built, versatile and differentiated event space for people to enjoy.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Has a relaxed and casual vibe
  • Offers convenient lodging options
  • Private area for the wedding party

Venue considerations

  • Additional event staff required
  • Couple must handle cleanup and setup
  • Not wheelchair accessible
Hart & Main was the perfect venue for our 120-person wedding. It was cozy but, it made the dance floor seem full at all times! All tables and chairs are included for ceremony and reception. We went with all rounds and the natural wood was beautiful with our theme. The bride and groom suites were perfect to get ready in. We each had 6 people in our bridal party - with hair and makeup people in the room any more would feel crowded. My favorite was the green wall, it creates the perfect background for photos. Everyone here is a pleasure to work with.

The venue itself is a true gem — an idyllic outdoor setting that made for the perfect backdrop to the celebration. They even have a whole fire pit area tucked away in the back! Whether you were enjoying the scenery or the vibrant atmosphere, it felt like stepping into a paradise. The Baja-inspired food was beyond delicious — fresh, flavorful, and packed with so much variety. Every bite was a burst of flavor, and it paired perfectly with the MOST amazing cocktails! The drink selection was next-level, with creative, expertly crafted options that elevated the entire event. What really made this experience stand out, though, was the impeccable service. The planning process was seamless, with clear communication every step of the way. The team was incredibly responsive and attentive, making sure every detail was taken care of. During the event itself, the entire Tacolina team was so hospitable, efficient, friendly, and so professional — it truly felt like everything had been thought of in advance, which made the event stress-free and enjoyable. Didn't know this place existed! Went there for a reception. Dinner was super beautiful - long tables, string lights, and perfect weather. Felt really easy and fun. Then we moved into the barn and it turned into a full-on party. Disco ball, fog, lights, DJ — everyone was dancing. Honestly one of the best dance floors I’ve seen at a wedding. Really hidden gem.

Our experience with The Stonehurst was fantastic from start to finish. The communication with Nancy, the owner, was seamless and she was so accommodating throughout the planning process. The venue itself is stunning, with different unique spaces to work with that really allowed us to customize our wedding exactly how we wanted. Nancy was so friendly and helpful. Since we got married in October 2021, they've done some additional work to make the space even more beautiful. The Stonehurst is a truly one-of-a-kind venue that is conveniently located close to Los Angeles. We couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate our special day.

Grass Room

5.0

Los Angeles, CA
  • Up to 150 guests
  • Select services
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $6,845
  • Offer

Grass Room is perhaps our most distinctive location and features a flowing 6,000-square-foot site plan designed for private events, courtyard weddings, receptions, exhibitions, productions and live performances. The venue is fully amenitized, and we provide experienced, professional site management plus a commercial kitchen for client-selected catering teams. Built in the 1920’s in an area that has long served as the city’s seafood market east of Downtown, the building has lived many lives in its century of use; it’s been a fish and oyster company, an ice cream factory, and a commercial site for everything from far east imports to marijuana cultivation. This quirky history subtly informed our re-invention of the space.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Private area for the wedding party
  • Provides lighting and sound
  • Lush gardens

Venue considerations

  • No in-house catering options
  • Does not provide event staff
  • Does not allow pets

The Grass Room / Marvimon team was SUCH a delight to work with for our wedding, which took place early December, 2024. Dana and Clare made the whole process so easy, comfortable and fun- they're lovely people and extremely organized. Grass Room itself is a stunning space. We chose it specifically because it really requires no additional decor; it's perfect as-is. The greenhouse gardens are so lovingly taken care of and so lush- our photos turned out so beautifully! The customizable lighting, the sound system, DJ booth, projector...everything about the space was just easy and intuitive. Their venue policies are straightforward, and they have a ton of supplementary material, guides and photos to share that were a huge help in the planning process. Having no restrictions on vendors was awesome for us, and the process of setting up a new-to-Marvimon vendor with them was easy breezy. We're not planning to get married again, but we'll be recommending Grass Room and the Marvimon properties to all of our friends and family. And if we ever have a reason to throw another big party- we know exactly where we'll go.

We cannot thank Valentine DTLA (and the whole team at Marvimon) for going above and beyond and making sure our wedding really was everything we dreamed it would be! Here is a quick breakdown of how it all went down: We originally found Grass Room on Pinterest and always dreamt of getting married here! We went to visit the venue and loved it, but then they showed us Valentine DTLA and we realized that fit us A LOT more! We were looking for a venue that would "WOW" our out of town family members from NY and NE and give them an experience they could only have in LA! The dining area was laid out beautifully with a projector (that we used to project our seating chart and then play clips from our favorite romance movies while we danced), a historic looking bar that spoke for itself, and a ceremony area that's full of greenery (and the best lighting for posed photos)! While the place was a little out of our price range, we decided to have our wedding for 150 people on a Friday and it was worth EVERY. SINGLE. PENNY. Once we signed the contract, we were put in contact with Dana and her team (Clare and Ariel) who helped us every step of the way and was there to answer ALL of our questions (which were a TON)! They provided us with paperwork that clearly outlined the rules of the venue and gave us a list of recommended vendors that have worked the venue before which helped us out a TON! One thing to note as you're considering this place, you will need to pay for a valet with White Label Valet who were very easy to work with and we HIGHLY recommend having since the area outside of the venue isn't the safest. Also, the venue does have security so there was never a moment where we or a guest felt unsafe. We spent a year and half of planning everything with Dana and her team at Valentine DTLA before our wedding. This included visiting the venue, having meetings in person to discuss the layout of everything, and asking us questions for things we never would have thought of to make sure all of our bases were covered. Dana and her team were so kind, helpful, and made sure we felt good when the day finally came and always checked in to see if we were stressing out as we got closer and to see if there was anything they could do to alleviate our worries. When the wedding day finally came, their site representative and our Day of Coordinator from "Pop the Champagne" (who was a DREAM to work with) made sure our wedding day went perfectly and that all the vendors obeyed the rules outlined in the contract so we didn't have to worry about anything at all! As soon as we walked into the venue, all of the stress was gone and the best day of our lives commenced! It seriously was the best day of our lives and we never felt so loved and that's thanks to Valentine DTLA (and Marvimon)! Even our guests were in complete awe of the venue and had a blast as well! We cannot thank Valentine DTLA and Marvimon enough for giving us the perfect wedding! Now quit reading this review and go book this beautiful venue!

I have always dreamed of getting married at the Millwick and now that the day has passed it was an incredible venue for our wedding. From the very beginning, their communication was direct, clear, and easy - they were always responsive to our questions and available to help. The quality of their work was absolutely beautiful. I found it easiest to work with vendors that have previously worked there as they knew how each other operates and it made everything run smoothly especially when it comes to a planner and catering. The venue itself was stunning, and their team went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. We couldn't have asked for a better wedding experience, and we highly recommend Millwick to any couples searching for the perfect venue.

La Venta Inn

Palos Verdes Estates, CA
  • Up to 200 guests

Made by Meg is proud to continue the legacy of the historic La Venta Inn nestled in the hills of Palos Verdes Estates. La Venta Inn has enjoyed a full, rich history on the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Nationally recognized as a California Point of Historical Interest, the Inn dates back to the early 1920’s, when a group of international businessmen set out to develop the ‘ideal residential community.’ The landmark ocean view estate is a beautifully restored 1920’s Spanish villa and used to entertain guests from the world over through exceptional weddings and events. We are thrilled to bring the delicious Made by Meg cuisine and our incredible hospitality to this one of a kind property.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Classic, vintage atmosphere
  • Provides lighting and sound
  • Provides event staff

Venue considerations

  • No on-premises lodging options

We got married at La Venta Inn in September 2024 and it was truly everything we could have asked for. The centerpiece here, and a large part of why we chose this venue, is the spectacular view overlooking the ocean which made for such beautiful pictures. Besides the natural beauty of the area, the building itself is a historic villa which felt cozy and intimate and yet comfortably accommodated our guest count of 100. Savannah was our contact person and was very responsive to emails, including some last minute seating changes we had in the weeks leading up to the wedding La Venta works exclusively with Made by Meg for catering - Kat was our contact person and was fantastic to work with. Note that they do not allow outside food vendors, but they were able to accommodate some of our special requests such as requests to source a specific brand of ice cream so that we could make our wedding unique to us. We got so many compliments from our guests on how delicious the food was. The other exclusive vendor that they are contracted with is Vox DJs. This is the only vendor that we had a less than stellar experience with. They performed their duties fine on the day of the wedding, with the exception of forgetting to set up the dance lights we had paid for, but the communication and planning leading up the wedding did not go as smoothly as I hoped, and I wish that we had the flexibility to go with a DJ company of our own choosing. However I understand the restrictions given that La Venta is a historic site. Overall, our wedding at La Venta was memorable, beautiful, and we would recommend them to anyone looking for a gorgeous venue with spectacular ceremony views. With a venue like this, you really only need a good florist (we used Flowernoon Shop) and a talented photographer (June Choi Photography) to bring out the natural beauty of the venue - you really don't need a lot of other rentals, draping, etc. We are so happy we had our wedding here!

All the staff that helped us with everything from planning to the day of were wonderful and really helped the day go perfectly. Even with the threat of rain, we knew we had options for an indoor or a outdoor/indoor wedding. We also have to shout out their Preferred Vendors list as a great place to start building the rest of our wedding vendors.
