“This review is long overdo, Dom saved me 4 days before my wedding which was on March 30th. By saving me, I mean that 4 days before the big day my original hairstylist was no longer able to work on my wedding day and I was in a panic. Luckily, Dom was recommended by my wedding makeup artist ( Patricia Castro aka queen) and from the beginning of our phone call I knew she was “the one”. She was kind & genuine, and though doesn’t usually work on Sundays, had 1 open that month for emergencies such as mine. We both agreed that perhaps this was all meant to be. On the day of my wedding, there was a lot of dancing, running around, and even a bit of rain .. that’s when I knew that my hair would have required Dom’s level of expertise as it can become a frizzy mess with any of the above circumstances. I’m amazed still at how Dom was able to perfectly execute the look I was going for WITHOUT A TRIAL. What this showed me is that she is someone that listens to her clients & as someone who has had 3 previous hair trials - this is so vital to look for in a stylist for your big day. Domonique is extremely talented with her art. There’s no question about this and I’m grateful to have been able to experience her skillset on my wedding day . But what I also wanted to highlight is her kind soul. Let me tell you- vibes on your wedding day can make or break your mood. Brides, you want to make sure that you’re surrounded by positivity . We know this isn’t always feasible and honestly hiring artists that can keep the vibe positive and be genuine with you .. is the best advice I could give to any future bride. Because yes, my hair was flawless and I felt SO beautiful (she nailed my vision, it lasted through heat, wind, sweat, dancing, hugging, all of it), but that’s not even the part that makes me scream her praises from the rooftops. It was the energy she brought to my wedding morning. I was nervous, overstimulated, and kind of freaking out- the day just felt so BIG, I wanted to make it feel less big (didn't even put on my wedding day getting ready outfit cuz it felt like too much production and wanted to just chill in my sweatshirt lol), and Dez just floated in like this calming, grounding, magical presence. She made me feel like the “non-bridal cool chill bride” I wanted to be, and it felt SO right. Everyone — my mom, my sister, my friends — were obsessed with her. Like we all raved about her for days. And here’s the extra awesome part... I hired her without even doing a trial (after firing my first HMUA), which felt risky but I felt like I could trust she would do a great job without the trial just based off her vibes in email. But I couldn't have any clue how WELL I picked until that morning she showed up. Dez was just instantly that person you trust, who makes you feel safe and amazing, and who also happens to make your hair look better than it ever has in your life. She even came with a little emergency kit (lifesaver!!), which my makeup artist was supposed to do for me and totally forgot about because she was leaving in a hurry. It’s just who she is — thoughtful, prepared, next-level professional but also the chillest person in the room. Also, if I hadn't already booked a new makeup artist I absolutely would have done makeup with her too!! We loved her so much that my mom immediately booked her to do her and her friend's hair and makeup for the Emmy’s this weekend (!!) because obviously she’s now our go-to for any LA/OC glam moment. Im a dental hygienist during the week but on the weekends Im passionate about getting brides and their families and friends look their very best. I specialize in airbrush makeup, I personally feel that it’s best for special days because it’s long lasting and doesn’t rub off on your clothes or on others. As for hair, I enjoy creating romantic, intricate styles and I pride myself in being able to recreate anything you show me. Everyone is beautiful, sometimes we just need a little magic to make our beauty shine.
