It all started for me at a very young age. In the early 90's when it was all about fashion and the super model, I would OBSESS over the style network and watch runway shows for hours. Fast forward to post high school choices I went to school for esthetics and also got a degree in natural health so that I could offer an additional layer to my makeup knowledge and services. Not soon after I graduated from school I freelanced for the best cosmetic company at that time. Five years after being a brand ambassador for M.A.C I branched off on my own to open a freelance hair and makeup artistry which I eventually moved to Caliornia.

Apart from our elevated taste level regarding hair & makeup which is timeless, classic not dated/trendy styles. I believe that equally important to actual artistry in selecting an artist, the vibe and overall energy of your artist is just as important. The artist is sometimes the last person with the bride before they walk down the isle. So, while making sure the bride looks amazing it’s important that in this intimate, hopefully once in a lifetime moment, she FEELS comfortable, supported, calm and at ease. Herein lies the reason that during my trials just as much as we are making sure I can accomplish the look, I make sure we vibe.

Our team is available for destination weddings outside of Southern California, and we can provide a customized quote that includes airfare, lodging, transportation, as well as per diem costs. Bridal Portraits

Description

Most brides don’t end up with the bridal portraits they REALLY want! Let’s change that. You could choose to put your trial hair and makeup to good use, OR you could come to me after the dust has settled on your wedding day. Either way would love to capture your bridal beauty.

All pricing includes a trial for the bride (when bridal makeup and hair is selected) to be held at a location near the major city I am visiting. Makeup services include: lashes, contouring and any desired look you choose! Hair services include styling on clean dry hair into the style of choice and even the placement of clip- in extensions if desired & provided.
YES! The trial runs are performed at my studio and already included in my quote. Trials are required for important reasons: Not only is it our opportunity to nail down the look so the day-of goes smoothly. The trial is also our chance to make sure our energies are aligned.The wedding day is a day full of emotions, meeting your artist ahead of time and having the opportunity during the trial to make sure aesthetics and energies align, will ensure you feel taken care of and supported. This is very important and my awareness of this fact is something that differentiates me as an artist.
For bookings of more than four services I have a roster of talented artists to accompany me to ensure timely completion of services the day of. With enough advanced notice I try to provide one assistant for every five services booked over four. It is my aim to keep the wedding hair and makeup prep time within 5 hours no matter the party size. I only work with the best of the best!
The travel fee is determined based on location of event, length of travel and days away, if travel is out of the main major city. Travel fee for within the city area are set to cover time and distance. Locations more than a 3hr drive from main city are considered Destination and may require overnight stay in location of service.
YES! Bahamas, Colorado, Spain, Hawaii are just a few of the destination weddings I have been honored to be a part of and I am willing to go just about anywhere. For international or destination weddings, the travel fee included on the quote does not include airfare, baggage check, lodging or transportation to and from airport to lodging. All these aforementioned expenses are to be covered by the couple and the rate will be calculated at the time of booking. The cost of airfare along with a deposit will be required before date is confirmed.
Weddings taking place in 2024/2025 may be eligible for waived or discounted travel fee. Please inquire for details.

    PERFECTION

    I cannot recommend Ashanta enough for both hair AND makeup!!! She and her team showed up right on time and made me, eight bridesmaids, my mom, and my mother-in-law all look picture perfect for the big day. My look lasted me the ENTIRE day through a lot of photos, dancing, and partying and, having just gotten my wedding photos, I’m thrilled! She was incredibly receptive to any changes I wanted to make and I felt like a princess. The whole experience working with her was a 10/10 from the hair and makeup trial to the day of. I’m absolutely going to recommend her to everyone I can haha :)

    BEST hair and makeup experience!

    LA Hair and Makeup did a PHENOMENAL job with my wedding hair and makeup! Ashanta (the owner) is so kind, professional, brilliant, and talented. She and her team did makeup for myself and 14 members of my wedding party, and did everything on schedule and to a very high standard of artistry. All of my bridesmaids choose pretty different makeup looks and Ashanta’s team did it all perfectly. I wanted my own hair and makeup look to be sort of vintage-inspired and natural, and I truly could not have been happier with how my bridal hair and makeup turned out— Ashanta is a genius!!
