Our Stone Patio features a permanent 40’ x 50’ reception tent and a 75’ long retaining wall/bench. My wife & I had the privilege to get married surrounded by our friends & family at the beautiful Montague Retreat Center in June of 2024. There’s a seemingly endless list of what drew us to MRC, but some key features to highlight: - Incredibly beautiful indoor & outdoor spaces - Comfortable, spacious, and accessible on-site lodging options - Flexible weekend buyout, enabling us to bring all of our ideas to life without much restriction or hurdles - Wheelhouse Catering: some of the best wedding food we’ve ever tasted in our lives - All of Montague staff, especially Jason Jason deserves his own dedicated review, but from the planning stages all the way through until the end of our weekend, Jason made himself available and ready to help. Jason referred several our vendors that made our day go off without a hitch, all of whom brought creative and personal touches that made our day so special. He consistently went above and beyond day of as well, from catching decorations that needed to be put out, to being hands-on assisting guests that needed extra help, and facilitating vendors to ensure everything was in its right place. His knowledge and general presence brought a calming energy that really helped us feel at home at MRC. For our wedding weekend (170 guests), we really took advantage of all we could at MRC. We observed first hand and heard from guests after our wedding that they felt they had plenty of space to enjoy themselves comfortably through the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and reception. With the full weekend rented, we used every square inch that the venue offered: - Friday: Portable Brick Oven Pizza in front of the Great Hall - Saturday AM: family provided breakfast buffet near the dining tent - Ceremony: Outdoor up on the ceremony ring - Cocktail Hour: Custom Poetry and plenty of activities all around the barn - Reception: Live band with stage lighting & sound; DJ later in the evening - Saturday Night: Late night fire pit & snacks for the wedding party - Sunday AM: Bagel sandwiches from Tandem Bagel in the lower level of the barn We can’t stress enough how perfect our weekend was at MRC. Montague Retreat Center will always hold a special place in our hearts, as it left a lasting impact on not only us, but our friends and family as well. At the end of our wedding weekend, many of our family members suggested that we rent out the space for a night every few years for a recurring big family bash. We may have to do just that!

We were married 11/16/2024 here and we could not be happier with our choice of venue. Nancy and Donna were fantastic to work with and answered any questions we had right away. On the day of the wedding Donna was extremely helpful. We truly felt that the staff went above and beyond to ensure that we had a good day; they checked in on my husband and I during pictures multiple times to ensure we were able to enjoy the appetizers we had selected. We got so many compliments about the food and the aesthetic of the venue. If you are concerned about food allergies, rest assured that you are in good hands with this kitchen. Anything we needed they covered right away. Our easel was missing a screw and they were kind enough to let us borrow one! We truly felt very taken care of. They were extremely patient and understanding with any decisions we had trouble making or any time we were disorganized. The wedding coordinator that they recommended to us was AWESOME to work with as well. I loved the bridal suite. We had so much space and the decor was beautiful. It reminded me of my grandmother’s house which made me feel even more comfortable. I highly recommend getting the apple cider mimosas and snacks they offer while you’re getting ready there! Absolutely kept everyone happy in the morning. Our photos and portraits that were taken both inside and outside are simply gorgeous; I can’t say enough about how good they came out. The way the lighting comes in is a photographer’s dream. The entire layout of the venue makes for excellent photos. This venue is also very affordable compared to every other space we looked at. It felt like it was made for us to get married in and we cannot wait to return there for dinner on our anniversaries. Thank you so much to the Salem cross inn for being a part of the happiest day of our lives!

We were so pleased with our amazing experience at Fern Hill Barn!! Every member of the team was consistently working throughout the day to make things run smoothly and help take any pressure or stress off us as the bride and groom. We experienced a very aggressive pop up thunderstorm right as our outdoor ceremony was supposed to take place, and I have never seen a team take action like they did. Carly kept me posted on the forecast and when we were forced to move inside, the team was at attention, putting up the sides of the tent, moving florals, and keeping everything pristine for the tent ceremony. Joanne, our banquet captain, helped me with any and everything that day - from adjusting my veil and dress, to calming my nerves about the storm, and even making sure we had our first congratulatory drinks once we were married. I cannot thank everyone enough, and we will surely be recommending our venue for years to come. All our guests were so pleased and so complimentary of the food, the cake, the friendliness of all staff, and the overall atmosphere. THANK YOU FERN HILL BARN TEAM!!

We booked Hyland Orchard for our 9.27.24 wedding and it was simply the best decision we made! This venue is absolutely stunning and amazing to work with! If you’re looking to book here and have the option to hire Doe, DO IT! She was my go to person with wedding planning and made the process way easier! We also hired her for her beautiful rental decor & florals! She absolutely killed it and it could not have turned out better. Everyone loved the florals & decor! My bouquet & the bridesmaids were breathtaking and she nailed all my inspo I sent her! She did our arbor also and it was stunning!! She’s truly an amazing person and really cares about all of your wants and needs! & bonus because she makes it happen!! Overall If I could have done anything different I wouldn’t have! She made sure everything went smoothly and we had the best day getting married on the hilltop overlooking the orchard!! 10000/000 recommend having your wedding at Hyland Orchard and hiring Doe! It’s the perfect rustic orchard wedding!! Thank you Doe for everything you did for Bryce and I- we appreciate it more than you know!!

We had the privilege of being the first wedding at Retreat Farm and they knocked it out of the park. The venue itself was gorgeous and the scenery was absolutely perfect for our fall wedding. The new barn was beautifully done and spacious enough for all of our guests. Sam and Jen were the dream team when it came to preparing for the day in advance and for taking the stress off my shoulders the day of. I went into my day prepared to be bombarded with questions and stressed with scheduling but Sam and Jen handled everything for us. I cannot express for grateful I am to have found this wonderful venue and for the support and positivity that came from the staff. Also huge shoutout to Pete the bartender everyone loved you!! The 2500 square foot barn is renovated to perfection with classy gold lighting features, a built in bar and large picture windows. Just outside the barn is ample land for a beautiful ceremony set up, an outdoor patio for cocktail hour and a covered pavilion. There is a great security in knowing you have a rain plan here. All of the event spaces include tables and chairs!

While my husband and I didn't get married at Milliken Manor, we had the pleasure of working with Kristen and Blackwater Events for our wedding in November 2025. It was an absolute joy to work with her from Day 1. She took every wish on our wishlist and made it a reality. She coordinated a "bouquet-making station" for me and my bridesmaids and created a timeline that maximized dancing for the guests. She pulled off a Chipotle dinner buffet that my husband thought was only a pipe dream (and even made it "upscale" enough to please my mother). Last but certainly not least, she somehow got my dad excited about the planning process and navigated family dynamics like a saint. If I had it to do all over again, it would certainly be with Kristen - and this time at Milliken Manor!

Where do I even begin - Stone Garden is a fairytale dream! Every single aspect of our experience, from the first moment we set foot on the property, was perfect! We used Stone Garden as our ‘welcome party’ venue the night before (we had a taco truck come yard games and bar service by Stone Garden), our wedding ceremony and reception venue, our florals, our bartending with custom drinks, and our coordinators. We are SO happy we did. For our wedding, we wanted something outdoors but with a rain plan, with a view on the water, with parking, flexible with our decor ideas, and close to hotels. We got all of this and beyond. Kristen and Frank really make magic happen. They are experts in paying attention to detail, going the extra mile to make your vision come to life, and making you feel important and celebrated. The second we met them we knew we were in good, trustworthy hands. Our wedding dreams included driving up to the ceremony in a 1955 Chevy, disco balls hung over the dance floor, tons of candles and bud vases, an extra cake for a birthday, vintage furniture, a portrait artist, an audio guestbook, and more. All of this was PERFECTLY achieved in the most gloriously beautiful way. IN THE RAIN. We were expecting a drizzle but it totally poured on our wedding day. Kristen and Frank communicated with us up to the final hours to decide how we could make the most of our day, and they were able to pivot and adapt to every single change- including moving furniture and putting sides on the tent. Their team kept us fed, informed, and completely carefree all night long. Our guests cannot stop telling us how beautiful the venue was (the view, the landscaping, the lights, everything!) and how nice and talented all the staff were. Everyone asks me how I found such a gem. We all loved it so much. It felt elegant and cozy at the same time. Every single recommendation for vendors, hotels, transportation -every piece of advice offered to us by Kristen and Frank- was so valuable and impeccable. I will never stop talking about my flowers- Kristen absolutely NAILED my vision and I have preserved all of them in as many ways as I could. Frank made the most gorgeous, delicious drinks for us and we drank them out of our own special glasses we brought from home, and the staff kept them full for us all night long, without us ever once asking!! Kristen’s coordination staff even took photos and videos for us throughout the night, and some of my very favorite keepsakes of the whole wedding are from them. They are angels!!! The whole team!!!!! I cannot recommend Stone Garden enough, I will be raving about it FOREVER.

Four Winds Farm is a family-run boutique events space that centers around an antique barn. The barn is decked out with antique decor and has two large fireplaces to help create a cozy New England late summer/autumn wedding atmosphere. Four Winds Farm is over 300 acres of land in Southern New Hampshire including forests, rolling hillsides, mountain-views, a wetland walking trail, and all the fall foliage your guests can handle. Our barn was converted from housing animals to being a center for theater and productions in the early 1900s and features a fantastic backdrop from a 1920's production. It is lit up with market lights and optional lanterns. We provide round tables and chairs to be set up however you choose, and we can accommodate whatever vendors and catering you prefer. We offer overnight lodging in our Hill House and Log Cabin as an additional package, and we include adjacent summer cottage rooms for your bridal prep. I cannot recommend Four Winds Farm enough. Not only was our wedding perfect and unforgettable, but the whole weekend was so truly special. Ian and Bri went above and beyond to make our wedding dreams come true with such care and ease. Every single inch of Four Winds is gorgeous, you’ll have a hard time choosing where you want it all to happen! We also really appreciated the history and character of the barn, we barely had to decorate as the space was filled with memorabilia and fun details. It’s really the coolest spot. As we come up on our first anniversary, we’re wishing we could go back and relive it all!

My husband and I were lucky enough to have been married at Mayfair Farm in August 2024. From the very beginning, Mayfair Farm spoke volumes to us as not only does the entire venue represent our home state of NH, but their focus on farm-to-table food sold us in a heartbeat. As two foodies, my husband and I could not get over how unique of an experience it was to help curate our wedding menu based off of Sarah and Craig’s farm and to morph our food to fit our own food-loving wants. Sarah and Craig are a wonderful duo and to have been able to work with Sarah and her incredible team was a treat. They provided effortless class and taste throughout our rehearsal dinner and entire wedding day. Sarah and her team are easy to communicate with and provided excellent insight to any questions that arose throughout the wedding planning process. We had such an amazing weekend at Camp Lenox - cannot thank the Rich, Leslie, and the rest of the staff enough. They made the weekend about as stress-free as we could have hoped - even despite the tornado warning on Saturday! Our guests had an amazing time from start to finish, and would not have been possible without lots of help. From putting together table arrangements, setting up campfires on 3 consecutive nights, making sure everyone got to their cabins and were settled in, having food prepared for 100 guests from Friday-Sunday, guiding hikes, coordinating all the vendors, supervising beer olympics, etc etc etc -- THANK YOU!!!!!!!

You will love Carmen the moment you meet her and fall in love with this fabulous little farm. From the unique on site accommodations (tree house and barn loft) to the lovely ceremony site to the fire pit, you cannot go wrong with the venue for your small wedding or event. Where to even begin! The farm road estate team was phenomenal!! Leading up to the wedding Taylor addressed our every question and was extremely detail oriented. She helped share best practices from other weddings on site but was always supportive when we had our own unique vision. Everyone who worked at Farm Road was friendly and helpful to our guests. They were also ready to shift as unexpected things popped up (like a sudden downpour) and this helped us to relax and fully enjoy the weekend. Our guests LOVED Farm Road Estate too. They raved about the beautiful and cozy rooms, the wood beams and architecture through the Great Room, the delicious food at every meal, and the lovely grounds. We were really happy to have picked a venue where our guests could stay onsite so people had more quality time together. We would definitely recommend Farm Road to any couple looking for a special wedding weekend in Vermont!

Our wedding we can say truly was a dream come true and we feel so blessed! The wedding venue is absolutely beautiful and we fell in love with it more and more from our first visit to our wedding day! Truly something different than the norm and it does just feel magical -the outside and then when the lights hit as you enter the barn! The outside is incredible with the green grass hills from the golf course, to the newly built pavillion, and all of the secret gem places to take pictures with the photographer -the bridge at sunset, beautiful pond, beautiful wild flowers creating the most beautiful pictures ! The inside becomes so dreamy with the not only the newness and upkeep of the barn but the chandeliers and twinkle lights with as many add ons to choose from -the drapes and little decoration touches the barn can provide make it magical! We are serious when we say our guests kept coming up to us saying how beautiful this wedding was! They were torn to hit the dance floor or hang in the pavillion on our beautiful day :) The team at the barn as well could not have been better -everyone there from initial contact to the very end couldn’t have been more professional, highly and quickly responsive and communicative, experienced, and kind! Every question went answered and truly every request was made -even until the last minute changes the night before wedding day! As soon as we toured Pinecroft Estate and met with Shelley, my husband and I knew that we had found our venue. Shelley was wonderful in coordinating every last detail, from our decor, to our menu and weekend schedules, she had everything covered. We loved that they had so much decor inventory to choose from that made it easy to personalize our day. Our guests raved about the food, the ambiance, and how beautiful the entire day was. Our bridal party was in such good hands with our day of coordinator Shauna, everything ran smoothly and we were able to be fully present and enjoy our day knowing that they had everything under control. I can’t sing their praises and recommend them enough, our wedding was truly incredible thanks to Shelley, Shauna and the staff at Pinecroft Estate!

We had an absolutely perfect day at Cricket Creek. We hosted our ceremony up in the pasture and our cocktail hour down and around the barn. The possibilities were endless and we were able to shape the space and use it exactly how we wanted. Working with Jessi made that easy because she was always there to give us advice and make sure all our bases were covered and we weren’t missing anything important. We decided to go to an indoor location for our reception because we knew it would get cold at night in late October, but if we were there at a warmer time, the Barn would also be an amazing spot for a reception. Our guests could not get over the views and the cows! Thank you, Cricket Creek!

I could write pages about all the amazing things that this venue boasts, but I will highlight the points that future brides should understand when they go to book The Ruins. Being a DIY bride, the Ruins at Sassafrass provided the enchanting backdrop to bring my Pinterest board dreams to life. The rustic charm and natural beauty of the venue complemented my vision perfectly, creating a magical setting for our special day. The flexibility of the space allowed me to add personal touches, turning it into a unique and unforgettable experience. Even in late October the landscape of the mountains in the distance were breathtaking; our guests are still talking about how mesmerizing the views were. What makes our wedding story even more special is that we chose The Ruins before it was even finished. It was a leap of faith based on the vision and promises from Carol, the owner. When we did our initial tour, the venue was still in its beginning stages of completion; even then we were captivated by the potential and the unique charm it promised. What sealed the deal for us, however, was Carol's infectious enthusiasm, passion, and stylistic eye. Her vision and commitment assured us that the venue would be the perfect location for our special day, and it absolutely was! Being part of the journey from the early stages allowed us to witness the Ruins’ transformation, and it added an extra layer of excitement to our wedding planning. Despite the venue's newness and the inevitable growing pains, Carol, Lara (the on site coordinator), Jerome (Carol’s partner in life and business), and the rest of the team made sure our decision to trust them from the beginning was more than worthwhile. Being a newer venue, Carol and the team were still in the process of ironing out a few kinks. Despite some last minute hiccups, what truly stood out was Carol, Jerome, and Lara’s commitment to addressing these challenges in real-time. Their proactive approach and dedication to ensuring our day was perfect more than made up for any set backs in the planning process. This was a HUGE relief when planning such a momentous event. On our actual wedding day, when challenges arose with our day-of coordinator (that we hired separately and was not affiliated with The Ruins), Lara stepped in as our saving grace. Her quick thinking, attention to detail, and unwavering professionalism turned what could have been a stressful situation into a seamless and unforgettable celebration. Her ability to coordinate with our vendors and recalibrate the timeline on the spot showcased her experience and dedication. Without Lara's intervention, the day could have taken a different turn, and we are immensely grateful for her expertise and her willingness to step up and save the day. Her creative touch also helped transform the venue into a dreamlike setting, exceeding our expectations. Lara's dedication and experience truly showcased the exceptional team at The Ruins at Sassafrass, if you get the chance you should ABSOLUTELY hire Lara to help plan your event. The Ruins at Sassafrass, with its evolving charm and an outstanding team led by Carol, Jerome and Lara, made our wedding day an absolute masterpiece. Gaby and company are super helpful, always around when you need them, prompt with communication and draw their vendors onto their team the day of.
