Mount Snow's new base lodge offers incredible, state-of-the-art spaces for your wedding. It features a floor-to-ceiling hand-cut stone fireplace with massive doors that convert the space to a slopeside open-air venue with a 9,000-square-foot patio and an outdoor fireplace. Receptions have the option to use one or two levels, all handicap accessible. The lodge features two indoor bars and an outdoor bar service. Just steps from the patio of the Grand Summit Hotel is the wedding garden ceremony site, with the soft slopes of the mountain offering a unique and beautiful backdrop.

Somerset Grand Ballroom

Available year-round.

With a wall of glass opening to an expansive private deck, the Somerset Grand Ballroom offers the comfort of a covered reception venue and the open-air feel that you come to expect from any celebration in the Green Mountains. For more intimate affairs, the ballroom can be divided into three sections to match the size of your celebration, while still offering plenty of space to dance the night away. For larger celebrations the ballroom expands, revealing a second dance floor and large stage.

We had a truly beautiful 95-guest wedding in August 2025 at Mount Snow. The ceremony was in the Wedding Garden, a semi-last-minute change that we decided on and they accommodated us easily. Our reception was at Carinthia Lodge, and we did our first look photos on the mountain top. We also had a welcome reception the evening before at the golf club (which happens to be the spot where we got engaged!). Everything was dreamy- it's the best word to describe it all. The entire team worked so hard to make our day perfect and it was! Our coordinator Stacy worked within our budget and helped us find flexible food and beverage options for each of our events. I also have pretty strict dietary restrictions and they made me the perfect meal for the reception. I had only seen Carinthia Lodge during ski season and was completely in awe at how elegant and refined it looked for our reception. It was the perfect space! There was even a room where we could chill out for a few minutes in private, change into my cocktail dress, practice our dance one last time, and just have a quiet moment. The day went off without a hitch and we had such a fantastic time. Our guests had a wonderful time, too. Our day was magical and unforgettable. Everyone on staff was incredibly helpful and friendly and we really felt cared for. We could not have asked for more!

From an officiant's perspective, I was thoroughly pleased with the experience at The Grand Summit Hotel. I always pay attention to how their staff works together and from start to finish the team demonstrated professionalism, clear communication, and genuine care. They went above and beyond to ensure everyone's experience was good (from vendors to guests and everyone in between). All the thoughtful extra touches stood out. Small unseen gestures speak volumes about the team's attentiveness and commitment to making the day feel effortless. Their interactions were intentional and supportive and I left wishing I had another wedding lined up! I would highly recommend Vail Resorts for your wedding/event needs.

My husband and I got married at the top of Mount Snow last September and it was such the perfect spot! At the time, the resort was only having full weddings down at the bottom but since we only wanted our ceremony there they suggested a few spots at the top of the mountain so we could have a beautiful overlook. We had about 30 people overall. Kate Rideout, our contact at Mount Snow, was the best! She communicated so quickly and was extremely helpful with planning. Since it wasn't an official site for them she helped me with the lift tickets, timing of it all, and even organized a champagne toast at the bullwheel. Before the big day she took us to the top to look around and pick the spot as well. Kate went above and beyond to help us plan and we couldn't be more thankful. On our big day, all the staff members were aware of our unofficial event and went out of their way to make sure all our guests made it up the mountain and knew where to go. Although the spot was not "reserved", people were extremely nice and let us use the chosen spot for our ceremony. It wasn't a problem at all to have random people at the summit! If you want a small intimate ceremony location with a beautiful backdrop this is a perfect option.
