Chris Funkhouser (who seriously brought the funk!) was amazing to work with! During our consultations he was able to answer all our questions and concerns. He was able to put his swing on things from his experience to help provide the right vibes we were looking for. We pretty much already knew all the songs that we wanted to play so the program they used was perfect! It was detailed in the timing of the night, how long or short to play songs and any other special requests we wanted to have. On the night of the wedding, Chris was a blast -energetic, observant, and focused on keeping the dance floor alive all night long. He even joined us out there, helping to keep the party going strong! He was able to use his best judgement in placing some of the lighting and monogram details we chose which turned out great! “Todd did an amazing job at our wedding! We were looking for an acoustic guitarist for the ceremony and cocktail hour and his sound was perfect. “DJ Charlie was calm and honest throughout the process. He was very clear about what he needed in terms of music line up based on our timeline of events. He gave us suggestions based on his experiences with other weddings and was flexible. The planning was a bit rocky because the timelines needed to line up. Which ours did not. So please be careful and make sure that your wedding timeline and the DJ’s contract timeline match. Since ours didn’t match up and there weren’t any events that could have been edited out, we had to pay for an extra hour. The extra hour was worth it because we were able to fit everything we wanted to do at our wedding. DJ Charlie was able to keep us on time throughout the wedding from ceremony to the end of the reception. He gave the bridal party special queue instructions to keep in time with the ceremony music. Though it would have been nice to have music playing in the ballroom and the reception tent while dinner was happening. The music selection had a good mix of what we asked for. Though the specific songs that we wanted for the party dance weren’t played. At the end of the night, it didn’t matter as it was a four-hour event and a good portion of the guests had to leave early. He was considerate of the people on the dance floor and even played rumba songs for my great aunt and uncle who were dancing a rumba number. The lighting set up was great. The pin lights were placed in the right areas in the ballroom and reception tent, and it really livened the place up. There were also moving ceiling projection lights, which really made up for the wall projection that we didn’t have time to set up. Overall, we would recommend DJ Charlie for any special event.”

The MC's ad-libs got a little overbearing at times, but overall they did a nice job sticking to the schedule and making important announcements. However, even after going through the work of submitting a Spotify play list and adding do not play songs or DJ played the wrong version of our first dance song (I checked and we had the correct version listed on our playlist we sent over), he also played songs from our do not play list to the point I, the bride, came over to ask if he had the wrong list. He admitted he was using songs from the do not play list as he was not paying attention. I would also like to note, though our wedding was more casual, our DJ was dressed in a sloppy manner. His shirt was half untucked from his pants, there were stains on his shirt and pants. Besides a few hiccups, direct Entertainment was wonderful to work with!”
